If I could get minus stars

by hatesPCfinacial on Feb 24, 2021

Stay away from PC Financial MC. What a criminal organization. Same as a user below, I have good credit, and they lowered the credit limit on the card, and this made me seem maxed out. They are horrible to deal with. The points were not added about 3/4 of the time. Not worth it, and has made me not want to shop at any Loblaws stores.

Card Holder Beware

by P. Grimard on Jan 5, 2021
1.7 out of 5 stars

PC Mastercard will randomly hit your credit bureau without your consent and lower your credit score if you fall slightly below their expectations. My score fell a bit over the holidays from using a few cards. I went from 820 to 740, so without letting me know they lowered my limit and now my card instead of looking like it's just over half its limit now looks nearly maxed out. Now my credit score is dropping again because it looks like my card is nearly maxed out. Having a PC Mastercard hurts your score more than it helps. Other banks have stood by my side and understand that people do use their cards. I will stay with them. I have paid off my PC and still hold it in case Hell Freezes over, then I MAY use my card but only in an emergency.

0 stars if possible

This app has got to be the worst app possible. It barely ever lets you sign in to see what's going on with the account. Not only that, but they automatically change your credit limit without telling you. This is by far the worst credit card I've had! I would rate it 0 if u could.

Amateurish

I used to work for one of the big 5 so have some experience. I got this for PC points and then one month they lowered my limit. I contacted them and it was restored only to be reduced 2 weeks later... Whenever I use secure messaging via the app I’m told I have to call. When a supervisor is requested they’re not available but will call back in 24 hours.

In their defence, they do call back but it’s days later, unfortunately.

Not impressed.

Don't get this card!

by PCSUX on Nov 20, 2020

I was approved for a credit limit of $500.00 2 years ago. I've kept my debt utilization low. Paid it on time. My credit has improved during this time not due to this card but other items falling off. This card did nothing to improve my credit score. They have denied every attempt over 2 years to have my limit increased. They don't have a reason why they won't increase the piddly $500 limit. I can't do anything with this miniscule limit. Can't buy plane tickets or stay in a hotel for more than one day. And It takes forever for payments to post. The customer service isn't good. Just a terrible credit card. Waste of my time and energy.

Avoid PC MasterCard

by thesummit881 on Oct 20, 2020

Got the card approved 2 months ago, 12k limit, used one time at No Frills, spent $90.00 and then Esso speed pass app. Used it twice, about $120.00 ($60*2) Then card got suspended. The same case as others, call them up, give me all about I was under their fraud alert, ask me series of questions and I told them I have been living at the same address for more than 20+ years. They, basically, ignore what I said. I spoke to them and all my security questions answered were correct, but they still claim I was under fraud monitoring. What is that? I asked to speak to that department, they said - no, then they said they will file a case onto my account and they will review it. Of course, they didn't, called them up twice every 3 days, they ask me the same stuff again, said that my card gets reactivate within 24 hours, he told me to trust him. No need to call back. Fine! 6 days later, went to Tim Horton's and tried it out, the same decline message. Call card provider, such a joke! PC MasterCard, shame on you! If you are not willing to lend, don't ask us to apply! Wasting our time and take a hit on our credit. Anyone who sees this message, AVOID them!

Just a horrible experience

by RPD1983 on Sep 11, 2020

I've had this card for a little while now and for the most part, try to avoid using it because of how awful their customer service is and how predatory they are. Unfortunately, when I stopped using it I accidentally left a balance of 0.06 cents on it - yes you read that right, six whole cents. When that balance interest wasn't paid they reduced my credit limit and hit my score. I called them to try and reason with what was clearly an oversight and I might as well have talked to a brick wall. Avoid at all costs!

Avoid at any cost

by Carl on Aug 20, 2020

I got this card for my daughter, so she wasn't always borrowing mine to order things online. My daughter was not working because of the COVID stuff so I have been making her payments, every 2 weeks I put money on her card, I got this months statement saying I didn't pay enough last month, so the card was suspended and the credit limit lowered, when I phoned to find out what was going on they told me I didn't make the full payment for the month before, and then they told me they had taken the payment I made on July 9th and applied it to June's bill, so it looks like I didn't pay my bill on time when I complain I was informed that they can apply the money to whichever month they want to and the only way to avoid this is to make 1 monthly payment on the 15th of every month...

Horrible,I feel scammed

by Tyler on Aug 7, 2020

Well, this financial company does not care about you just you spending money on that card and owing them for life. The interest rate keeps going up no way to disagree. The only way is to pay off the balance in full not everyone can do that. I signed a contract with 19.99% and now 39.95%!!! My other accounts have offered me lower and lower rates due to good standing. The one time I was out a job they refused to help me even though I got that insurance but nope. They charged me a hefty fee for not being able to pay and right to collections even though I said I just started a new job and will pay up the first payday. They ruined my credit for 5 years. Other companies said no problem took the extra bit on top of my minimums six months back and threw it on divided into two months of payments to keep me going ok. Be careful with these supermarket credit cards they all seem to just be a very clever scam or fraud if you will of consumers. And they will get away with it. The account is closed has not been used in 5 years. Putting $300 a month down on a $60 min payment. 2 months ago balance was at $2486.24 this month suddenly $3220.46 and all because that ridiculous interest rate kicked in. I glad I have the money today to actually pay this off and be done with them.

Not Very Good

by Nikki on Jun 25, 2020
1.5 out of 5 stars

I really can't recommend this card mainly because my account was in good standing and they put a block on my card for being roughly $10 over the limit, temporarily. The balance was brought back down to 0 within the week but I never bothered to reactivate the card based on principle. I just found in ignorant that they would authorize a transaction bringing you just over your limit, then send you an email advising you that they've temporarily suspended your card privileges and to contact them. I could understand if you have a poor payment history but it was so entirely out of the blue, it just put me off doing business with them. Ironically, if you check your credit report you will see that there's a note that says the account and closed even before you close it but that the terms you agreed to are fulfilled, no payments were missed and there are no negative reports attached. So that begs the question, why would you temporarily suspend someone's card for being a mere few dollars above their limit? It just makes no sense. Just stay away, There are better credit cards available with better customer service. PC Mastercard is unreliable. You can't know for certain that your card will work.
