Asked too much info

by CraftyDev on Feb 19, 2020
2 out of 5 stars

I have called about 8 times now and each time they ask me for more and more information and than say I will be good to activate the next time I call and I call and they transfer me to a specialist. Why they are called specialist? They ask for a bunch of my info and yet my account is still not open. At this point when I call back tomorrow, I'm going to say I don't want to activate it and not worry about it. Because literally, a dog could give me better information. Sorry guys but you do not help at all I have had my card for almost two weeks.

Poor customer service

by Exhausted from trying. on Jan 3, 2020

I find it extremely difficult to ever get into my account. I am asked REPEATEDLY for a verification code, it won't accept my password, asks for a user name which it rarely accepts and repeats the process ad infinitum. I have made at least 15 calls (not an exaggeration) and the only agent who seemed to know what they are doing was the last one who did appear to solve the problem. Even then I had to finally give up as immediately I ended the call, the problem started again. Worst web site ever. I am now paying off the balance and will not use the card again.

dispute resolution

I have been using this card for years and PC Master card has made money from what I spend. Recently, I was scammed by a free trial trap online. The scammers used Costco to make me think that it was a free reward from Costco. They hid important Terms and Conditions. I thought I only had to pay for the shipping of some skincare products. It was a month later that I know that I had signed up for a free trial and also autofill, which I had no knowledge of. I was charged $400 by the scammers. When I called PC to dispute the charges, the rep wouldn't even take this as a dispute. He said this happens every day. Since I clicked that button on the scammer page, where the important message is hidden somewhere, I have to pay the scammers and PC Mastercard cannot do anything. In a business world, shouldn't the merchant provide customers with a copy of the contract they sign? In this free trial scam, if you don't keep a screen capture of every page you went through, you really don't have any idea of what you agree with. Once you give out your credit card info and click that button on the screen, it is changed to another screen and the important info won't be shown again. The scammers won't be able to provide you with a copy of whatever you sign for. They ask you to check their websites. When another email from the same scammer popped up, I tried to pretend to go through the pages and managed to keep screen captures for all the pages. On the final page, hidden at the bottom, there are some Terms and Conditions. Comparing these Terms and Conditions with the Terms and Conditions on the scammer's websites, I find several key discrepancies. All this means if you don't have screen captures for all the pages you went through, you won't know what you have signed up for. Whatever the scammers say you sign, then you cannot deny it. According to the contract laws, shouldn't merchant provide customers with a copy of a contract? PC Mastercard knows exactly what these scammers are doing and they won't do anything. I will cancel my PC Mastercard.

Not a good card!

by PS on Apr 23, 2019

I've signed up to get a pc MasterCard months ago and still cannot review my transactions on their app. I call and all they say is that they are working on it and are escalating it but its been almost half a year and still nothing! I cannot stand the way they are handling this! Every time I call they pretend like they are doing something by putting me on hold and come back with no valid answer! Very very disappointed with many things about their customer service and now I am looking for a better card! It's not a good card at all!

Bad communications

I decided to pay off my credit, unfortunately, there was around 200$ outstanding amount which I wasn't aware of. After three months they sent me to the collection and ruined my credit score despite my stable financial situation. (Veterinarian).. They never called me despite they have my cell. Very unprofessional !!!

horrible new website

by dwayne.w on Jan 17, 2019

The new website and security features really are a pain in the neck. I'm always locked out, and then when I get in, there's no way to download transactions. If you want to view transactions on the website, they're spaced out so far apart you can only see a few at a time even on the big screen. I loved their old website and have been with them for many years, but this new website is making me seriously consider switching credit cards.

Does not work with Mint

by JB on Jan 11, 2019
2 out of 5 stars

This card is ok. Some good features but they just blocked access to Mint, so if you use the site, this card will become a major headache for you. It's a real shame. If it wasn't for the Mint blockage, I wouldn't have cancelled my card

no longer my favorite

by FreddieSaxon on Nov 16, 2018

This was one of my favourite credit cards until they did this to me. I hadn't received a statement in a while, so decided to log in and check, but I couldn't log in...I got something about fraud prevention and that I need to re-certify my login by doing some reset of password and them sending me an authentication id. Tried this, failed, got locked out, told to try in 10 mins, 2 hours, and then 2 days...that's when I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. Turns out they have switched something over, said they sent me an Email about it, which I never received...in this switchover they also reset all notification settings to blank, and that's why I never received a reminder that my balance was due on Nov 7...but it was on Nov 15 that this nightmare began for me. So I paid my bill and was told that after interest rate charges show up on my account that I should call them back about it. A few mistakes they made here...number 1. They say they sent an Email, but because this is MONEY, they should have put a CLICK TO CONFIRM in that Email to ensure two-way communication was achieved successfully...number 2. Zapping notifications was a mistake that could have been avoided if a seamless transition and true customer care was a concern in their switchover. Even if they remove interest charges, this episode makes me rethink who I am doing business with. On the subject to money, I have a zero tolerance for incompetence, which I think was demonstrated here. Customer service is the one and only way that I evaluate a company, 'nuff said.

What a joke.

It was all fine and I enjoyed the rewards until they switched to Optimum and there was no way to connect and no online help. Mastercard cut. So deceptive in that at first they give you rewards but then no way to get them.

3 days card cancelled

by em on Oct 5, 2018

I have had a very frustrating experience over the past few days with PC. I applied and was accepted for a PC MasterCard...the points incentive was very exciting for me as I own a small business and often make large purchases monthly. The card (and sister card for my partner) came in the mail 7 business days after the application was sent, approving me for an available $12,000 credit. I called and activated both cards, made about 4 or 5 purchases over a weekend, and then a final large purchase over $1500 on Monday. On my way home, I went to stop for a coffee and saw my card was declined. Thinking maybe the account had been flagged due to the big purchase, I called to clear up whatever was going on. The representative I spoke with then told me my account had been frozen, and that I needed to pay back half of what was owing on the card (about $1000) and send in a photo of my utility bill and a drivers license to re-activate the account. Now...this has been 3 DAYS of purchases. Not a month. Not a week. 3 DAYS. I asked over and over again WHY this was happening, and she said the application department needed to review my status. A very vague way of saying "we screwed up, and now we need to hold your account and you need to pay the money back". My partner's card was also frozen, which means we both are now left without a credit card for...how long? When I asked how long this process would take to rectify IF I DID pay the $1000 they were requesting, I was told anywhere from 5-7 business days for the documents to be viewed, and another 5-7 business days for the card to be re-activated. Now, as a business, I can assure you that I can't wait around for 3-4 weeks to be able to purchase merchandise and services. This experience has been a horrible hassle, and when my money is paid off, I will be cancelling this card. I've applied for another credit card in the meantime...but I am SOOO unhappy with how they treated me as a new customer, and how unhelpful they were in answering my questions.
