I can't believe they are still in business.
You wait HOURS (NO JOKE) on the phone and still, nobody takes the call. I'm ready to go elsewhere.
We booked business class flights to South Africa via RBC rewards on British Airways after saving up for years for a trip of a lifetime. British Airways cancelled our flights due to the Omicron shutdown of flights to South Africa. We were told by RBC Rewards that our credit card had been refunded on Dec 3, 2021. Still nothing. British Airways won't talk to us as they say it needs to be our travel agent. RBC Rewards have shunted us around for over 3 months, from department to department, endless hours on hold then getting cut off (that was after 4.5 hours waiting), over 20 calls had been made, dozens of emails to customer relations, repeated logging of a dispute, etc. It is beyond frustrating.

What else will you get:
Booked a flight for Nov 2021, had to cancel due to covid, was emailed that we have a credit of $4255 (actual dollar symbol used to describe credit so one would expect you get the actual dollar equivalent when rebooking). In Feb 2022, booked a new flight AFTER going on the Westjet site to check the price for the exact same equivalent seats. Upon calling RBC travel was quoted that I have to pay an 'additional' $501.48 for 'taxes'. When I explained that I had looked at the EXACT flights on Westjet and the total with taxes was only $3466, so I should have a credit NOT a charge, I was told I was wrong and that I "wasn't listening". Then insult to injury Westjet also doubled up that exact $501.48 with no explanation or authorization. No one will offer an explanation or rationale. RBC say goodbye to millions of dollars of my investments and banking with your criminal organization. This will not go unpunished.
I wanted to use my points for travel and they said I have to wait until I have enough points to use for let day Europe flights from Canada, (65000) in order to use the Avion travel point system otherwise it would be 100 points to a dollar system. And once I had enough points the offer for the tickets was to use 65000 points plus paying the full amount of the ticket in cash or using a 100 to a dollar system. Which did not make any sense, I thought at first it was a mistake and it should 65000 or pay cash for the ticket but it turned out after calling so many numbers and talking to so many people that's what it was. A complete rip-off and scam.
Booking through RBC, Air Canada charged a fee of $80.00.
Cancelling the ticket is a nightmare, they don't allow it online, you have to phone, 2 hours later I hung up.
Air Canada won't help they consider RBC a travel Agent. I can assure you RBC Visa is not worth the fees or the nightmare dealing with them.

Booked a flight with RBC before Covid... The flight was cancelled during the peak of COVID... I have not had my 35,000 points or $311.76 returned to my credit card. I have wasted hours upon hours trying to speak to someone in Customer Service to no avail. This company should be ashamed!!!!
I booked a trip to Mexico which is supposed to leave in 4 days. I have no confirmation other than a booking number. I have waited on hold for a total of 4.6 hours and twice has the call dropped with no callback. This company does not seem interested in providing even the most basic customer service. I was previously with VISA through another bank and am looking into switching back as this is a nightmare and a complete waste of my time
RBC point is a SCAM.
You have to wait 8 hours on hold for someone to help you and then they will hang up on you and won't call you back. Their points are not worth bothering. They are annoying and will really torture you till you give up your points. Useless MANAGERS.
Do not redeem your points with them.
If you don't believe try to call them.
Good luck!

I bought my tickets and in two months I have received 6 changes, my flight is in December. And at this point, I don't know if I can fly with that tickets or I have to buy new ones.
Every time that I called then the waiting time is 2 hours at least.
And everyone that answers the phone has different information!

I've been on hold for a total of over 3 hours today, and I've spent about 2 hours engaging with an agent who also put me on hold for most of that time. So far I have invested about 5 hours and counting (currently still on hold) since the first agent said she would speak to a supervisor and call me after 3 PM today, no call yet. It's 9 PM EST so I decided to get into their nightmare on hold queue again since I am supposed to travel tomorrow and they gave me a return flight with an impossible connection. They expect me to clear customs, check out my luggage from one airport (approx time is normally 90 mins) drive to another airport with the journey in between taking 1-2 hours depending on traffic and go through customs and security, check-in my luggage (normally 90 mins at best) with a transit time of 3 hours. There is a simple solution to this as there is another flight that would not require the change in airports for the same costs and it has available seats but apparently, this is too complicated and requires a supervisor... So here I am having invested over 5 hours in this process and my travel scheduled for tomorrow. Never again. Looking at cancelling and moving my 25-year banking relationship elsewhere if they won't resolve this for me.
