Have been trying for months to cancel my critical illness and disability insurance policies. Originally spoke with a rep in July, who was unable to help me and told me to phone another line. They only take calls M-F 8-4:30(I also work the same hours). So it was weeks before I was able to actually speak with anyone. I spoke with multiple reps in July, who told me different things, left a message to a supervisor, mailed in a letter in August, emailed their client services in October. No one has ever reached out to me, then Dec. 1st rolls around and I get billed again! I'm glad I never had to process a claim with them, but at this rate, I'll probably be stuck with them until I retire. What a joke, this company is a total scam.
You want to get better? Stay away from GWL. Keep looking. I wouldn't get this insurance if it was the only insurance on the planet. Trust us, all of us. They either get their $... together or they are going bankrupt. Government needs to know how they love getting substituted. You pay for one insurance, you get one insurance. No, they know all the loopholes. These guys are phoney. Time to get my 17 billion dollar company to change insurances. If employees get this email, they will quit. In a heartbeat. GWL take a good look at these people, not your accounts. These are humans that are contributing to society. Not throwaways after they get cancer or other terminal illnesses. We are all humans, suppose to look after one another? With companies like this, no wonder the world is going to crap. Shame on you! Change your systems. By golly, you guys don't even have email support to agents. No computers, are you guys in the dark ages? I can imagine your poor employees, what they get paid, insurance probably none. Shape up or I will get our 77 million employees this web page. That's a lot of funds each month you get, and they pay out of their own paycheques just like I did for 25 years. Never sick in my life and now terminally ill, and you treat me like $$$$$. Shame on you twice.
They wouldn't give me a copy of my claim to file with another insurance company. Over a two month period, I called every other week and they never had a record for my request for a copy of the claim. Thus I was not able to make my claim and lost over $700.
