Worst insurance company

This is not the first time I've ever encountered such rude, impatient, and highly sarcastic customer service representative at Sun Life. I call them most of the time because it's part of my job working at a practitioner's office, and I'm in so much shock to find out how awful their customer representatives are. Such a disgrace to the company. Maybe the HR department should have a better standard of hiring customer service reps. 'Cause these guys they hired aren't helpful at all and in fact, frustrate people more because of their unacceptable attitude.
I have read a comment or two about denials for referrals made by Nurse Practitioners by Sun Life. I have called Sun Life about this as well. They do not recognize Bill 179 which gives Nurse Practitioners the power to prescribe and communicate a diagnosis. Under Bill 179 a nurse can prescribe medication but Sun Life will not pay for it. How does that make sense?
They lie regularly and wait until the last minute. You call back and you're told something different each time. It doesn't matter if it's a rep supervisor or manager. Their goal is to wear you down. They claim they make calls for records but don't leave a message or claim line is busy. They give teenager level excuses
Sun Life Financial always lies about our coverages. Every single time they say they don't cover this and that, then we need to send screenshots of the agreement to prove they are liars. We spend hours and hours to argue with the non-knowledgeable and unprofessional staff and management to prove we are covered. Hate to deal with this scam company, but my work benefit is with this company. One day we will bring their scam to media with all the proofs.
Worst company ever. Save your money and go somewhere else. They will take your money but if you come with a claim they will do everything that they can to deny your claim.
They start collecting the fees the moment you sign, then they keep coming with unreasonable reasons to overrate you, people reported big problems and lawsuits to get them to pay off a policy
Read the small print! They will try and get out of paying a dime for any reason. They don't care about you, just the shareholders.
They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, the lady who was processing my insurance through work is a complete procrastinator. I have been waiting for almost 5 months to receive my insurance package. Once I called to follow up and the lady said they just found out some information they needed was missing so it wasn't processed yet. I asked why nobody called to tell me that, I always have to be chasing with emails, it is their responsibility to check on the status of my insurance and inform me if it's not been processed because they needed more info. What if I didn't call to follow up? I'd probably be waiting 5 months to receive my package. Also, you will never get a phone call or email back, they're pretty useless.
Rude experience with a white woman being racist and hanging up the phone like an animal. I prefer being with animals than these so-called "people". How do they even have a job? I have seen cats and dogs more civilized than these pathetic people at Sun Life financial. Disgusting.

For extended benefits, sun life's policy seems to be to drag out your claims until their claim limits are reached or they found any reason to exclude coverage. Three times I sent in information with different reasons for denial. I terminated my policy with them and submitted a claim. After not being paid I found out they were requesting a referral for medical claims (which BTW we had sent in before, but their policy is you need to send in every 12 months. Most other companies I have dealt with do not require this even once). They sent this information in and I was told that the claim period had ended. I don't understand how this company can deny money entitled to you because you have exceeded their policy periods. They have no problem taking in your monthly payments but do anything to exclude paying out. I agree with other posts as to how anyone can work for this company. They must be paid commisions on how little they pay out for claims.
