Waited 55 minutes and gave up. Several tries - the same. Must only have one person on their call center. We made the mistake of paying in full on our credit card then cancelled before the policy took effect. Cannot get it reversed, instead, they will mail a check in 30 days. Got a 40% better rate from CAA for both home and auto. Even our broker said they were useless to communicate and deal with.
Came to this site after waiting on hold for 1hr and 36 min with NO RESPONSE OR ANSWER... to find that I am not alone when having horrible service. I was in an accident 2 weeks ago and still have no response as to what they will be doing with my vehicle. Two (2) weeks after the accident and NO IDEA whether they will be repairing or writing off the vehicle. I pay you ... on a monthly basis for this kind of service?!? HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE... I'd rather pay a little more on insurance and know that I can rely on them when they are needed than have a cheap rate with cheap service and BAD customer service.

Had an accident over 2 weeks ago. Claims adjuster has not called me yet! I called, left messages, no one returning my calls. I have been on hold with insurance claims for over 3 hours! This is my 3rd attempt with them to escalate my claim. As for the company they are using for claims adjusting - never returns my calls or emails. So my car has not even been looked at. Absolutely disgusting customer service
I have been on hold for over 2 hours waiting on the Economical Mutual accounts department to answer the phone. This level of service shows how unprofessional this company is. Called at 9:30 am on Tuesday. This company offers great insurance rates, but just hope you never have a claim or have to contact the accounts department.
Had an accident. Had some injuries and they offered me physio and massage, but never followed through, and never sent me the forms. On the vehicle side of things they were of no help, wouldn't call the body shop back or the tow truck company or me. I have been with this company for almost 20 years and my family has been with them for over 40. They used to be ok, but now the company runs things more like scam artists.
I had the misfortune of a claim being put through that I did not agree to. I wanted to settle it privately but it was pushed through without my consent. When I left voicemails they were not returned . Awful customer service .
Total loss on my car, not my fault. They wouldn't cover for my storage at the body shop it was at, wouldn't pay for my repairs that was done on my vehicle (e.g. new engine & transmission).Wouldn’t pay for my child seats that was in the car. They didn't care about my injuries that I sustained in my accident and was only concerned about cutting costs on their end which ever way they can. Adjusters Ricardo and Shalini (extremely rude) and the whole company was just trying to take advantage of me on my first accident example by asking me "if I'm injured why do I have a rental? "You should return it if you not going to use it. Why does it matter if I have a rental I'm entitled to it under my policy and I can have it parked the whole time at my House or drive all over with it. It’s up to me on what I want to do with it.
Sept 2016, car accident claim received quick responses and clear instructions from all levels starting from the 1st phone call, all reps were sympathetic and helpful. Documents arrived next day, emails and phone calls got reply the same day, seems to me that staffs worked overtime and did not go home until things are handled. Impressed by the good services.
I got into a not at fault accident with my company pick up truck, a young kid pulled out infront of me from a side road and I wasnt able to stop in time. I have a small snow plowing and landscaping business. Because it wasn;t my fault they said I would not need to pay any deductible and that everything is covered. They quickly set everything up with my local body shop which was one of their company shops too. The shop gave me a rental but i realised that the rental truck that was provided didn't have a trailer hitch and I couldnt use it for work. I called the adjuster back and explained I need a truck with a hitch for my trailer, otherwise i couldn't pull my trailer with my tools and equipment. The adjuster knew his stuff and said he would arrange a half ton pick up truck just like mine, with a hitch and a bed liner. The adjuster was really friendly and understood that I needed a truck to keep my small business running. The rental company Enterprise, called me within the hour and got me into exactly into the rental I needed, After about two weeks the bodyshop called and told me my truck was ready. I pick up my truck and everything was repaired beautifully. I was able to continue on with my business and life without a hitch. I've been with Economical for 16 years and the one time I got into an accident they really took care of everything and then some. I could't have asked for anything more.
Made 2 payments using a touchtone phone but received confirmation for 3 payments via text. So I called them to cancel the extra payment. I have yet to speak to someone. Over 2 hours on hold and still waiting. If I would have seen this site I would have not have renewed with them. I can only imagine the nightmare in dealing with a claim when you can not speak to someone.
