Claim experience

by Rose on Oct 26, 2023

I spoke to their claim supervisor. Very rude. Instead of listening the complain of the customer, she also don’t stop talking and explaining stuff! How can you be in this situation without proper training in customer service? Awful experience.

Pick someone else

I'm paying these people a quarter of my paycheck every month and the two times I've needed help they let me down. Please explain to me how an insurance company closes their offices all day on Sunday. Then that same day the website is down all day so you can't even log into your account and get your information.

Please explain to me how someone can hit my car and run away and I get punished with a higher bill every month for it. I'm so done with these people. They charge me every month and I get nothing for it. They are unreliable and will continually let you down go with a different insurance provider.

Not at fault

by Portmanw on Dec 18, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Crossing the road to enter the hotel parking lot, the road was clear, no traffic in site, as I was entering the parking lot out of nowhere a white car appeared and hit me in the rear passenger side rear wheel, obviously, the driver was distracted, yet insurance company sided with the distracted driver and accused me at being at fault, unbelievable.

Fire claim

by Peter Andres on Dec 5, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I would like to say please do not use this company. I had my truck catch on fire so I put in a claim as I have full coverage with fire and theft on it and they completely refuse to cover it. Was also called names by representatives and was not professional at all. Just wanna say do not take your chances with this company.

Un cooperators

by Pinky183 on Sep 28, 2022

Called to see about switching from my current insurance as my employer gets work perks. The cost would have been higher and the representative was a complete snob. Also told me they wouldn't accept payment plans for content insurance. What a complete joke...

Incorrectly charged $1500 over 9 months

by Jon on Sep 12, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Be cautious with this company! After I was promised their premiums were competitive I was tired of all the increases (I had been a customer for 15+ years).
I contacted a broker and discovered another company offered a 25% decrease compared to the premiums I was currently paying for 2 autos and a home policy.
Cooperators could not match the offer I received from another company.
I cancelled my two auto policies in December 2021 and just this month discovered the premiums were never properly cancelled and I was billed over $1500 worth of premiums. I requested a 5% interest payment ($75) but was told this is something that Cooperators does not do. Ironically if you are late on a payment they will charge you interest.
I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Be very careful of their tactics.

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Service advisors not to bright

Had a claim where I was hit in the passenger side rear wheel by a distracted driver while entering the hotel parking lot, you will never believe who they put at fault. Cooperators service advisors who handled this claim cost the company and I think they should have been fired for their stupidity.

Hail Damage

by Mohammad Rauf on Aug 19, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I claimed for the hail damage after buying the vehicle. There were lighter hail damages when I bought the vehicle. Now the vehicle got more additional hail damage. The estimator did not consider the hail damage after buying the vehicle. They just close the claim based on the car history. Thanks

Disapointed, un friendly, not customer oriented company. They will rip you off.

I am with you for almost ten years with no claim. But they increase insurance prices without notice. Compare to other companies they are very expensive and unreliable. I recently missed a payment due to a bank holiday. They try to collect the pre-authorized payment on holiday.
When I ask from them they didn't talk to me in a polite way. Send me an e-mail saying that if I miss again, there will be another charge or something. It was like a threat.
I decided to drop this company from my auto and home Insurance. I can find a cheaper, better place that valued its customers. I am very disappointed with this company.

Criminal Insurance Company

by Utah citizen on Jul 24, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

One of their clients from Alberta sideswiped my BMW in Utah. This is the worst insurance company I have ever experienced. How they are licensed, I don't know. I ended up paying thousands of dollars out of my own pocket. Still waiting 45 days which is the settlement timeframe in Utah. Still nothing. Canadian travellers are becoming unwelcome in Utah because of CoOperators Insurance.
