Already regretting card

by Jeannine on Oct 12, 2021

Very upsetting, I only received my CT Mastercard a week ago, used it to get the promotional reward points they offered when you make a certain purchase after getting your new card, never used it after went to order something for my daughter for school, found out the card has a hold on it called found out they put a temporary hold on all new cards till you make your first payment and then its remove after two business days. I haven't even received a bill yet, and they call me consistently every day, I'm not in collects (only had the card a week), I still have a good chunk of credit available on my card, Makes me wonder if every time I use the card will they call me harassing me for payment. Really wish I had found this site before applying for this card.

Credit card

I am currently fighting a charge that was applied to my card without me making a purchase. This credit card company keeps giving me the runaround about it. They can see the charge on the statement, they can see I did not receive the product and that the online order was cancelled. Each time I get on the phone they start the process over and I’m to wait another 5-7 business days. This time, I got close to the person that can actually help and the call “mysteriously” got dropped (he hung up).

This card company and Canadian tire seem to make money off people by charging your card for items you don’t buy and then give you the run around when you dispute it hoping you will forget about it. This is over a $500 charge, too bad for them I won’t go away. It’s not the money anymore, it’s the principle of it. Banks continuously get people's hard-earned money and get richer and richer off the backs of real working people.

Not dependable

It’s a complete nightmare whether your card will go through at a store or not. You can use the card dine once and a second store a few minutes later the card will decline. It picks and chooses at what your purchases are, and how much you can spend even with several thousand dollars credit available on your account. It is a complete joke. You can’t even log in to pay your bill and resetting your password! They never send you emails to correct this problem.

Disgusting customer service

After being a customer of the original CTC card, I, like all others was transferred to the first M/C and now Triangle. Just used at store and gas. I went to use it on January 31st and declined. I never get declined on cards as I always pay the bill off full. At home, I tried logging on but received notice on line to call 1800 number. I ended up talking to security who I could not understand and he could not understand me. I asked to speak to the manager and that was a bigger mistake, she was downright rude. I had enough and asked if I had a balance as I was cancelling the card. She told me no balance. Cut up my card and next week get an email statement showing $30.00 credit. So not only rude but they have now proven to be liars as well.

Bank involved in fraud?

by Don'tBillMe on Oct 8, 2019

I received an unsolicited card in the mail. When I reported it to the crack fraud investigators at Canadian Tire Bank, I was threatened that if I did not comply with their investigation I would be responsible for the charges on the card. They issued a card to someone who spelled my name wrong and used a different birth date and then let that person charge several transactions to the account. I provided them with the police file number for my identity theft which is all I was required to do but I also agreed to sign a declaration so that they could conduct their investigation. I was being nice, what a mistake that was. The letter sent with the declaration was an attempt to entrap me. It stated that I had reported unauthorized transactions on my account. It also contained the same threat of not complying with their investigation. When I complained about my treatment for reporting the fraud, I was told it was a form letter. Their policy seems to be to bully and entrap victims of identity theft into paying for the mistakes of Canadian Tire Bank. I will not shop there and any mail from Canadian Tire goes directly in the garbage. If their goal was to have me never contact Canadian Tire again, they were successful. The fraud investigators at Canadian Tire Bank did zero investigation into the police file numbers I gave them. My identity was stolen along with about 70 others and I would bet there have been over 100 cards issued in those identities. When I tried to talk about that or why a card was issued, I was interrupted and talked over. I was the first and only subject of their so-called investigation. It makes me wonder if Canadian Tire Bank's policies are to encourage fraudulent activity and somehow profit from it.

Worst ever

Never had so many problems with a credit card before. Fraud took 2 months to solve. Spent hours waiting on the phone waiting to talk to someone. No accès to my Canadian tire money but someone else did (fraud). Unable to have answer or when I did, it was wrong. Took 45 minutes for a supervisor to take the line
