I am a loyal PC customer for over ten years, never in arrears rarely ever carried a balance over, have an "excellent" credit score rating. I went to use the card at the superstore for online purchases during the COVID crisis Quarantine and the card was declined without notice. After 2 hours of waiting on hold to talk to a representative(s) the only answer they had for the reason to decline my card was " Due to bank policy we reserve the right to decline your card at any time". This is how President Choice MasterCard treats loyal paying customers during the COVID Crisis; Inhumane!
I was dealing with PC Financial when I had a dispute over a purchase where I did not receive the product I was supposed to get. Not only was customer service awful ( wait times over 2 hours, only to speak with a representative who was unknowledgeable about the process) but the company offered me no help at all. Even when I went to put my card on hold as a precaution, the company said they would, and then when I went to test it, didn't. It may be seen as a cheap option, but when you really need your credit card to do as it is meant to (which is to protect the user), it will fail every time. My first review I've ever written because it was an appealing experience.

I used PC Financial MC for over 15 years until I lost my card and asked for a replacement over the phone. This was the first time I have ever called PC Financial and I was put on hold multiple times and every time they hung up on me or if I did reach a human, they would transfer me and then I would have to wait another 45 minutes. This is just ridiculous customer service to either hang up or transfer to another person. I think this one time I waited almost 3 hours. After reading all these reviews, I am glad I am not the only one who experienced this! After requesting a replacement card which I was told would come within 14 days, which it did not - I called them again after about 1.5 months and then they expedited a replacement card through courier but it had the same number as my lost credit card... Are they not supposed to change the number if my original card was lost to prevent fraudulent activities? This time I decided to try using their website to ask instead of waiting 3+ hours on the phone and they said they would send another replacement card with a different number. Again I waited another 1.5 months before FINALLY then sent me a brand new card.... so I was out of a credit card for almost 3 months!!!
I finally called PC Financial today to close my MC account. AGAIN I was put on hold for another 45 minutes waiting for someone to pick up and when they did, I got someone who kept repeating herself over and over again, "Hello, this is M_____, how can I help you?" x3 and I kept telling her (politely and calmly) that I would like to close my account. She blatantly ignored me and repeated her name again and again. She sounded really annoyed and said "HELLO??!!! If I don't hear you, I will hang up in three seconds." And of course... they are notorious for hanging up on customers and so she did! I was calling from a landline and I was using it earlier on another phone call so I know my phone was working and I do not have a mute option so I knew she could hear me but she chose not to. I don't really understand this company and the shame of hiring someone like this person who picked up my call.
I ended up calling again and waited almost an hour this time and then finally managed to get a person to pick up. This time the agent seemed happier to help. I'm just crossing my fingers that they did close my account!!!
This company has a serious problem with customer service. Their wait times on the phone are completely unreasonable. Trying to make any purchases online is always a problem and getting someone to respond is simply a waste of time. I will be cutting up this card. I just can’t put up with it anymore. I will tell everyone I know to never get this card.

Tried several times to get through to the fraud department based on an alert and my card and it is blocked. The wait times were ridiculous even as I tried to multi-task and do other things so that I lessened the frustration. Absolutely awful. I will be paying off the card this month and cancelling and moving to another provider. There is no benefit that I can see in having this card. It is a headache with very little reward.
What adds insult to injury is hearing "thanks for waiting, your call is important to us" in some vague hope that you might be fooled by this standard falsehood comment.
It blatantly isn't important to you, or you would answer the call and not leave the customer who pays for the privilege of using the card hanging on the phone perhaps hoping that they will get so bored they will hang up.
If you do some internal call center analytics you will soon see that this is your major pain point and it is pretty clear that your customers will leave and go elsewhere.
I wish I never got this card! I should’ve read warning signs on the reviews! Wait times over the phone range from 1-2 hours! Ridiculous. At this point, I’m just so frustrated with this company that I closed my account. I paid off all the balance due months ago, and for some reason, I am still getting interest charges even after the account has been closed! Be careful! This card is not worth the hassle!
Impossible to reach someone at customer support. I have spent hours over the last couple weeks trying to reach a person. Still on hold currently at 47 minutes.

Do not get their credit cards, they make you wait hours to get in touch with someone if your card is frozen due to “fraudulent activity”, and they will never notify you that they froze your card automatically.
I am still on hold while I type this. Have been on hold for one hour and fifty minutes. It said only ten people ahead of me at the start of the call and yet I am still here. What everyone is saying is accurate. Their fees are really high. I always pay in full but if I miss by even two days it's a massive amount in interest. We even tried auto deposit and they made it difficult to sort. I am basically on hold to cancel the card but cannot even do that! Absolute awful. I have tried to call many times. They need to fire their staff!
