Credit Limit

by PC_H8TR on Jun 7, 2024
1 out of 5 stars

It's like a roller coaster with these guys. They drop your credit limit at a moments notice from $4000 to $1000. 6 months later they offer you an increase. 6 months after that, they drop it again. Of course your credit score gets affected by these swings in limits because your total available credit across all your accounts just dropped $3000, so an outsider looking in would think you just spent 3 grand.

None of my other cards do this.

Absolutely awful

Have had this credit card on and off for over 15 years and I continues to be a pain! My card which is completely paid up continues to get declined for absolutely no reason. Call the customer service, wait for over 45 mins to be told it is my fault that the card is locked! Have to change my pin number for the 4th time! So sick of it! Don't bother with this card!

Suspended my card for no reason

by Debra on May 26, 2024
1 out of 5 stars

I have had my PC financial card for almost 3 years, NEVER missed a payment, perfect credit history, $2500 limit from the start.
PC called to offer me the PC insiders Elite card with annual fee of $120. I agreed to it
They did not ask to do a credit inquiry but the next thing i know i get a call telling me i was over the limit (due to their annual fee) and that they have suspended my card??
When i inquired as to why, they said there was something on my credit file that disqualifies me from the upgraded card and upon having a discussion with them they informed me that i would now need to pay the card out in full and they would have to prequalify me for a new card.
(I had a situation with telus that i was dealing with, unaware that they put me in collection)
* This had nothing to do with PC financial
* I wasn't asked to do a credit check for the upgraded card
* I have never missed a payment on my PC card
* I was put over the limit with their annual fee
This company is very sneaky and do a lot of things under the radar, i would NEVER recommend them.

Great Card

Honestly not sure why there are many complains on here about this card.
Great so far. I use it daily, pay it off always the same month. Started with a 2,000 limit, requested to raise and they did it no problem.

Lost my card one time not knowing I could do it on the app, and the lady on the phone was super helpful, took 5-10 minutes to help me.

Overall great card if you pay on time, if you can’t manage to remember to pay your credit cards, you shouldn’t have one.

Worst card ever

by Aaron Watson on Apr 19, 2024

Worst card ever for everything! I have good credit and I had the card for 6 years with not a single missed or late payment, and I couldn’t get a limit increase from my $500 starting limit.
Customer service is awful too.

I will never recommend this credit card to anybody.

Although this company has an agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart and people are generally happy since they are getting points, any time there is a fraudelence in your account, the support is bare minimum.
I had a fraudulent charge on my account from a photo shop in NY where I haven't been since more than 15 years. When I complained to PC, they first refunded that amount, but then called me back when I was away for 3 weeks on vacation and then added that amount. Since then, this issue was not resolved. If I had these issues with another credit card company, like major banks, they would have been resolved long time ago. Finally, I took my complaint to the Ombudsman and waiting to hear a favorable solution.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CREDIT CARD TO ANYONE. ALL OTHER VISA CARDS OFFER POINTS OR REBATES. DON'T LEARN THE HARD WAY LIKE I DID!

They keep lowering my limit

by Ricardo on Feb 14, 2024

They lowered my credit limit twice in the last 3 months yet I never missed a payment.
Their customer service is disgusting.
Do not bother with this card or any PC products for that matter.

Customer Service

by BHolman on Feb 2, 2024

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. I disputed a charge and submitted all supporting documentation - instead of a credit back to my card they processed a debit. So now I've paid for this twice and nobody seems to be able to reverse this.

Stay away

by Rylee on Jan 3, 2024

I’ve had the most horrendous experience with PC financial credit cards. I’ve had the card for a few years and only wanted it for the points. The credit card gets you nowhere further with points although they promise the world.

Terrible experience #1:
Auto-payments from my primary account (different financial institution) had expired without me realizing it which meant I had missed 2 payments with my PC cc. Not one phone call, email, notification from PC Financial. I had randomly logged into credit karma and found out that I had missed the payments. That day, I had got a call from a third party to say that my account was going to collections. Not from PC financial. With no communication, they sent my account to collections. I have never missed a payment once prior to this.

Terrible Experience #2:

Once again, I signed into credit karma to see that my PC CC was under closed accounts. Upon spending 30 minutes waiting to speak with someone, apparently there was a request to close my account through a request to speak to a representative online. Never got a call. Never got a confirmation that my account had apparently been closed. Nothing. As I write this, I’m trying to put an offer in on a house and find out a huge amount of my credit amount had randomly been cancelled which can seriously mess with my pre-approval.

Just avoid this financial agency at all costs. It’s a true customer service nightmare.
