I have been denied 3 times by today with c.s. 730...I really don't think that anyone is checking the applicant credit score...Small advice: since it is only for Costco members, maybe you should check how much this Costco member is spending annually and calculate how much will you earn with your 19% interest rate. Anyway, thank you very much CO Canada, I won't be bothering you anymore
I had a Costco Master Card, I was very sick in the hospital and had no one to help me with bills etc. I was in over 5 months, so of course, my bill did not get paid. I got out in March and the first thing I did was to pay all of my cards off which was over 5,000.00. And I explained why I did not pay for five months, very ill and fighting for my life. So what did they do, could care less and told me I had to repay and have to wait to do that. I gave Costco lots of my businesses and money and this is the understanding what happened. I thought Costco cared about their customers. Well, the people handling their charge card don't.

With a credit score of 800+, I can choose which card I keep in my wallet. After having a terrible experience with Groupon, who was selling vouchers for a company which is/was out of business, I turned to Capital One for assistance. They proved to have probably the worst customer service on the planet. Why Costco would chance such a reputation built on customer service with a CC company with such poor service is beyond me. Stay away from this card unless you want headaches.
I agree with the reviews that state Costco should be ashamed of entering into an agreement with Capital One. I have always hated Capital One. However, after continuous pressure every time I went to Costco to sign up for this card, I finally bit. Despite the fact that I have an outstanding credit score they provided me with an initial credit limit that was far below my monthly expenditures. I pay my entire CC balances off every month and my other 5 cards carry quadruple the limit. When I called to ask for an increase explaining that this limit would not suffice I was told that it could not be done as it was a new account. I was told to wait one year and call back. After one year and the card being fully paid off on time every month, I called back. They still refused to increase my limit. I became quite angry and told them to cancel my account. This was mid-2017 and I was told that if I cancelled my account I would lose my refund amount which was sitting at approximately $500.00. I then decided that I would keep it until I received and cashed my refund cheque. This account has now been closed and RBC Westjet has my loyalty. Stay away from Capital One at all costs. It's not worth the hassle. I have also reduced my Costco shopping. I will spend my money at locations that don't make such stupid decisions.
I just got this credit card and I cannot say more terrible things about it. The online system looks like it was made in 1982 and it never seems to work. Their system always crashes - it even happened when I was on the phone with the company making a complaint. The worst part is that returns take 8-10 business days to process. I had a $7,500 charge which was refunded an hour later because we changed our minds on the purchase. A few days later, I was unable to make a charge on my account and I was confused. It was so embarrassing. When I called, I was told that the return would take 8-10 business days to process. It's funny that they were so quick to process the charge yet not refund it. When I called, they said there was nothing I could do about it. I asked if they might up my credit limit by $500 just to allow me to use my card for a few days while the return was being processed and they declined. I didn't want a higher credit limit, I just wanted to be able to use my card while I was waiting for the return to go through. If that's the kind of customer service they provide, then they don't deserve my business.

I'm new to Canada. I moved from the US where I had 820+ credit score (out of 850). This is the only credit card company that rejected my application for a card. I did have RBC, Canadian Tire, and Amex from Canada. I needed this card since I use Costco a lot. While RBC gave me the card based on my income, Amex transferred my US card, and Canadian Tire gave a card with a low card limit, these guys did not care even after I told them that I had an investment account with Capital One until I moved to Canada. I will never get a Capital One.
Capital One has the worst online system! First of all, I am able to log in 1 time out of 5 on their website since the update in September. Don't even bother to download the app, it won't work and will redirect you to the (useless) website. When I am able to log in, most of the time, I can't see my statements or my transaction. Their system is just a ton of "currently unavailable" and "please try again later". Payments take forever to be processed (about 5-8 business days). You can wait hours on the phone before talking to someone!
On January 26 they supposedly changed and got rid of foreign transaction fees. They are thieves. I did three purchases today and as luck would have it I used debit, another visa, and this card. This card when converting from USA to Canada stole almost 10 percent from me!!! The others did not. Beware!!! Check your foreign transactions and tell me that I’m wrong..,,

The Capital One Costco MasterCard has a 2.5% foreign exchange rate fee added onto the conversion. Yes 2.5%. So if you travel outside Canada don’t use this card. It’s a rip off.
I guess someone has to pay what appears like a rebate to its members. Don’t be fooled!!!
My history with my Costco Mastercard was exemplary...never missed a payment etc. A good little customer... I called Capital One Saturday, March 31, to activate my just received replacement card. It was a late activation because it had arrived to me very late. I explained to the gentleman that I have two addresses...one business and one personal. Business address is my billing address. I further explained that I am having issues with community mailbox service at my business address (hence late receipt of my new card). I sometimes don't receive things, and therefore want to change my billing address to my personal address, an address Capital One also has on my file. He seemed to understand my plight, asked me many identification questions and then changed my address for billing and activated my card. I was warned that the first use MIGHT need a signature but after that, my same pin would suffice. That evening we tried to use the card to pay for Skip The Dishes food delivery over the phone...it was declined. Next morning, Sunday, I purchased a limited number and time-sensitive item I had been waiting to purchase online( used PayPal). I successfully made the coveted purchase...yay. Then I went out Monday and attempted to use my card in a store and it was declined. Tuesday I call Capital One and "due to high call volume" wait 15 minutes before hanging up. Later that eve I call again... I wait 37 minutes before hanging up. Wednesday morning I call again... it takes over one hour to finally be answered. Cut to finale: Capital One tells me because I had changed my address when I activated it on Saturday and then tried to use it at a food order service I had not used before... security had decided to freeze my card. So... did they call me at my phone number to check with me or advise? No...but they did send me a letter by snail mail to my usual billing address to let me know...maybe I'll get that notification next month. I also didn't get the time sensitive limited quantity item I had thought I successfully purchased due to declined card... American Express, you will get the rest of my Costco business..the points aren't worth this exercise in frustration.
