Also! When they cancel your card for inactivity /not renewing with Costco like they tried to do automatically with the crooks, they cancel your cashback too! I was going to take breathers in between renewing but will never go with Costco or Capital1 again. Only Canadian Tire Master Card is just as bad and I don't shop there anymore either.
They automatically renew your Costco membership after they sell you this card in their store. Then, if you do not maintain your Costco membership, they cancel your card! STAY AWAY!

We have had the Capital One Mastercard for 8 months with a relatively low introductory credit limit. We have spent 5x our credit limit every month and paid the card every 3 or 4 days. After 8 months of this, we called in for a credit limit increase (moderate request of an additional $2 or 3k) and we were given a scripted answer that we need to wait at least 12 months before being evaluated for a credit increase. The card simply doesn't align with Costco's demographic that have mid to high incomes with related spend needs.
I have never had a credit card when you receive a new card and refresh your pin, the card needs to be 'declined' 3x in order for the card to synch with the new pin!!! This is embarrassing for the company and for the card user. Who likes to have their card declined 3x at a merchant and have to explain that this is how the card gets synched up with the new pin? This is absolutely disgustingly ridiculous! Suggest the company invest in technology and capable personnel to align their customer service like the other banks. If this is not the only joint credit card I have with my husband, I'd cancel this in a heartbeat. Negative rating if there is an option for me!
I have $20,000 limit now. Requested to increase to $40 or $50 G since all of my other cards are above $40G. After 30 min on phone, the answer was no, when asked why reason: I do not use the CC enough. I said I would love to use it more but the limit is too low. Worst CC ever. Worst service ever... I will let Costco know so they consider a new CC company.

We tried to use our Costco Capital one card for a transaction to payout another credit card. After a credit amount went into the capital one card they froze our account. Unbeknownst to us of course. So when we went to use the card...nope, declined. After a number of phone calls, they informed us it was frozen because of fraudulent activity!! Really?? We transferred the money!! So we asked to have the money transferred back and were denied. We were told that our banking institution had to make the request. This is after countless calls and umpteen people giving me a different answer every time. Our banking institution made the request on May 1st. I was originally told it would take 2-4 weeks. After making a call today, I was told it would be 4-6 weeks. What was supposed to be a simple transfer between cards turned into a cluster ****. And to top it off, if I wanted to do a cash advance, I could only do one for $300 per day. I would have had to have done 10 to get my money back at what cost? Since the interest rate is off the charts I called and asked to have it raised just for one day even so I could do the transaction and was declined. I asked if I could have my credit limit increased so I could do the transaction and declined. I will never recommend this company or card to anyone!!! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had that has left a terrible taste in my mouth.
My history with my Costco Mastercard was exemplary...never missed a payment etc. A good little customer... I called Capital One Saturday, March 31, to activate my just received replacement card. It was a late activation because it had arrived to me very late. I explained to the gentleman that I have two addresses...one business and one personal. Business address is my billing address. I further explained that I am having issues with community mailbox service at my business address (hence late receipt of my new card). I sometimes don't receive things, and therefore want to change my billing address to my personal address, an address Capital One also has on my file. He seemed to understand my plight, asked me many identification questions and then changed my address for billing and activated my card. I was warned that the first use MIGHT need a signature but after that, my same pin would suffice. That evening we tried to use the card to pay for Skip The Dishes food delivery over the phone...it was declined. Next morning, Sunday, I purchased a limited number and time-sensitive item I had been waiting to purchase online( used PayPal). I successfully made the coveted purchase...yay. Then I went out Monday and attempted to use my card in a store and it was declined. Tuesday I call Capital One and "due to high call volume" wait 15 minutes before hanging up. Later that eve I call again... I wait 37 minutes before hanging up. Wednesday morning I call again... it takes over one hour to finally be answered. Cut to finale: Capital One tells me because I had changed my address when I activated it on Saturday and then tried to use it at a food order service I had not used before... security had decided to freeze my card. So... did they call me at my phone number to check with me or advise? No...but they did send me a letter by snail mail to my usual billing address to let me know...maybe I'll get that notification next month. I also didn't get the time sensitive limited quantity item I had thought I successfully purchased due to declined card... American Express, you will get the rest of my Costco business..the points aren't worth this exercise in frustration.
I had a Costco Master Card, I was very sick in the hospital and had no one to help me with bills etc. I was in over 5 months, so of course, my bill did not get paid. I got out in March and the first thing I did was to pay all of my cards off which was over 5,000.00. And I explained why I did not pay for five months, very ill and fighting for my life. So what did they do, could care less and told me I had to repay and have to wait to do that. I gave Costco lots of my businesses and money and this is the understanding what happened. I thought Costco cared about their customers. Well, the people handling their charge card don't.

With a credit score of 800+, I can choose which card I keep in my wallet. After having a terrible experience with Groupon, who was selling vouchers for a company which is/was out of business, I turned to Capital One for assistance. They proved to have probably the worst customer service on the planet. Why Costco would chance such a reputation built on customer service with a CC company with such poor service is beyond me. Stay away from this card unless you want headaches.
Has been a frequent customer at Costco. Thought to give this credit card a try. Worst decision ever. It has been 3 months since I applied, still haven't received my card due to "logistic issue", at least that is what they called it. And none of the customer service or their manager takes the responsibility of fixing the problem. One manager even told me to go get another MasterCard, which is super bizarre. Yes, I am getting another MasterCard now, and I would recommend everyone to take that manager's advice. Go get a MasterCard elsewhere!
