Most frustrating experience I have ever had

We don`t even get instant reimbursement for drugs, the system is a nightmare and they keep raising the cost on us, plus as truckers we have to pay the whole thing outright out of our pay cheque, the company isn't allowed to cover anything for us. we get nothing in terms of coverage and in fact they keep diminishing. And every time we put in a claim they mess something up and we end up owing them money. Its a scam. Stay away from Manulife. Although, judging by the reviews I've seen its looking like the industry as a whole is in terrible need of a clean up.
Keep denying dental claim because dentist in Ontario used Ontario dental codes. Employer in BC so will only accept BC codes. Got the BC codes from a dentist in BC and they still denied claim.
Canadians are free to live and work in different provinces, so this is a ridiculous and discriminatory policy.
Worst decision ever, for my Employer to switch to Manulife. Every claim takes a week, then, usually, denied even though it's a medical expense from my health spending account. That's MY spending account, not Manulife funds. I call, then wait another week for payment. Happens every time. I can't even access the balance on the app or website...I have to call Customer Service about that too. Ridiculous service and I know other employees are having the same poor experience. Will not purchase any other, personal, insurance through this company and, definitely, not deposit any spending account funds here again.
My group benefits plan has an allowance for health care and an allowance for a health care spending account. Once I started submitting claims where the balance of the 80/20 spend was covered by the health care spending account they then started charging the entire balance to the spending account rather than actually covering any of the expenses themselves. This is frustrating because the balance of this account, if not used is transferred to the following year. I consider this theft. They would find garbage excuses to not remit the funds, requesting documents never requested before such as doctor's notes for massage therapy or physiotherapy or the like, and not accepting claims because the receipt is "registered counselor" vs. "guidance counselor". Needless to say, I will be encouraging my HR department to reconsider the use of Manulife in the future, this is a part of my compensation package and I am thoroughly unsatisfied.
Worst service ever! Recently switched to Manulife and they deny claims for no reason, impossible to contact on the phone.
Been in a battle for over a year to add coverage for my dependent. I have to explain everything every time I call in, and am always read the same script, the record so far is FOUR times being read a script and having them ignore my questions.
It always ends the same: “I’ll get a superior to call you back tomorrow”, and when tomorrow comes I get a template email with the same script I’d already gotten from the service rep and no phone call, OR NOTHING AT ALL and I have to call in yet again. It’s awful.
When they do approve things, they phrase it in a way that makes it sound like you’ll finally get the coverage you’re paying for, only to find it’s a slimy way of denying coverage yet again and reversing all the claims back on you.
I’ve given up, this company is truly awful and their service reps have zero knowledge and can only read from prompts, a bloody parrot could do their job.

Manulife is the most frustrating company I have ever had to deal with.
I asked before enrollment what are the eligible expenses under our PSA. I was told financial services was included. I called again to ask exactly what financial services were included. I was told X was included.
I submit a claim for X and it was denied. I call back 3 times and resubmitting things until I find out X is not covered but Y is. I submit a claim for Y. It also doesn't go through. I call to ask why.
The service rep tells me only dental services are covered. I said that doesn't make sense. I do some digging and it turns out Financial services was completely taken off. What's going on?
I pointed out it seems Manulife is playing around and changing things. She said they don't do that. Right.
Their services reps are clueless. Their claims department deny everything. There's no consistency. The website has no email contact option. While waiting for their call centre they can suddenly put me on a silent line that never gets picked up.
Stressful and absolutely terrible.
