I had to cancel two Sphere tickets for my elderly mother and myself. My mother is 85 and decided she is not healthy enough physically or mentally to travel to Vegas. Tried to file a claim on Allianz website and it cannot find the policy despite pulling up the correct record using the policy number. Called to speak to a rep. and he agreed to file it for me but tells me that I have to have a doctor's note essentially as supporting documentation. The email I received after the claim was filed indicates that the tickets are only covered up to $200, when I paid $383. Such a scam.
We purchased cancelation insurance through West Jet for the specific reason my father has lung issues and he may not be able to fly. Of course after the purchase they send you the policy information that preexisting is not covered HAHA well a little late now don't you think so? So of course when we had to cancel because my father was put on oxygen to make matters worse we were denied this claim after paying the doctors for medical notes and waiting on hold for hours with these guys (I must add before purchasing the doctors notes I made Allianz aware that the claim was for my father who had a preexisting condition) for them to drag it out for 3 months. We will never ever use Allianz ever again and I will be spreading the word also communicating with West Jet that the company they partner with is a bunch of absolute crooks. I hope they sleep well considering the crap they put people through. Absolute joke.
Over the past few years i have dealt with allianz for a travel refund for canceled flights, of the 3 flights i have recieved 0 refund even though my credit card covers me and insures me of this! This company is a fraud! My most recent experience, my flight was canceled Oct 30 2023 it is now jan 17 2024 and i have not recieved an answer! You may be put on hold for hours and the call gets disconnected, the emails are not responded to in a timely manner. Very disappointed with Allianz!! RBC should not deal with Allianz!
Horrible experience with Allianz submitting a claim on flight delay and baggage delay. Their online claims portal doesn’t work, brutal process to submit and lack of communication has left me still trying to get $$ back from the winter storm when our flight was delayed and cancelled.
This company should have been shutdown years ago, largely because they’re nothing but scammers! Submitted all the necessary forms for a cancelled trip due to a last minute medical issue, and all I got was to be waiting for 6 months! The online claim number that I was given kept coming up as invalid every time I tried to check on the status. When you finally get through to someone on the phone at Allianz, it’s pretty obvious they don’t give a @$&?! about you, and do their very best to make you go away. I honestly think that’s what they’re paid to do! As I said before, why is a company like this allowed to stay in business, for god’s sake.
My flight was cancelled BY THE AIRLINE and rebooked for different dates. I wanted to change my plan or cancel the package I bought to reflect the days I needed. They said because the flight was rebooked and not cancelled due to weather or mechanical function, I could not receive a refund … for coverage I couldn’t even use because it was covering different dates. Also to get someone on the phone was not organized at all, the wait times were horrible, and associates not knowledgeable on all products. I bought the best coverage for my family and paid an expensive amount. And this company could not do anything for me. I lost out on a lot of money and they do not care to rectify the situation. Horrible company and customer service.
Firstly. You have 10 days from the day you purchase the insurance to cancel. I booked my flights in September for a December trip, I found out in November that my plans were cancelled not within my control. The insurance (trip interruption/ cancellation) said that the airlines required reasons did match.
So I’m out the a cancellation fee with Air Canada. I asked for the refund on the insurance (Allianz) since what did I actually pay for. Nope 10 days !!!! They both payed off each other. One is as bad as the other.
I guess if I was called to war I would have had better luck.
I hope this helps someone out!
I purchased travel insurance from these guys and had to cancel my flight a few weeks after. After calling them and waiting on hold for an hour and a half I was finally able to get someone to send me the paperwork to file my claim. (There was a ton of paperwork to btw) I sent it all on the same day and just got an automated response saying they had received it. A month later I emailed them to check that they had got everything okay and if it was still being processed...no reply. Two weeks later I called them and was on hold for almost 2 hours. A guy picked up and asked for my name and case number which I gave and he put me on hold again. Almost an hour later, the call disconnected. This is the company that airlines are recommending through their website?? Also, the website that they try and send you to doesn't really work either... Keeps sending you in circles.
Wish I had read these reviews before wasting any money on travel insurance that does absolutely nothing.
