Excellent response to my canceled travel plans. My claim was processed in a few weeks, and I was reimbursed for the amount I claimed. A smooth and satisfying process. Thank you.
If I could put 0 stars I would. These people have given us the run around since day one. The are stalling, we are now being threatened by the hospital to be sued for non-payment. Allianz data team "made an error" and payments in their system have been entered to my father, who passed away.
I have been calling them constantly, always get the run around, no one really cares about all the stress we have gone through.
My documents have been lost by Allianz agents, my address was incorrect in their correspondence to me, I wrote, emailed and called 4 times to correct the address and the service reps all said they could not change the address. Yet today, the service rep said she could. I have been dealing with Allianz for 1.5 years. It would have been less if the address was correct. Still dealing with a December 22 YVR flight cancellation. I never flew anyway and the note on my file stated my flight was not delayed by 6 or more hours, so the claim is ineligible. I actually stopped using my RBC Visa card because when I travel I need insurance coverage. My correspondence has been awful, even though I have been using the "submit" email I was told to use. Frustrating, and do not recommend.
Doesn't deserve 1 star! What a horrible company! Please stay from away from them. They don't like to pay out, and give you every excuse for not honoring your claim. I purchased two tickets for an event, I was so looking forward to attending, and spent close to $400.00 for two tickets. Unfortunately, I had surgery and could not attend, so I put in a claim since I THOUGHT, I was protected, but they found every reason to postpone, and delay payment which I never received from them. THE AUDACITY! Then, to add insult to injury, maybe one person spoke proper English. WTH???? How do they hire people to deal with customers that you have to struggle to understand? I am not exaggerating. I could not understand a word they were saying, which only added more wood to the fire. Also, their customer service representatives become very nasty when you tell them, you do not understand them. Allianz should be ashamed of themselves, because they do not like to pay your claims.
Ok, I put a claim in for a friend. He got hurt on holidays. Nothing serious, but cost him a fair chunk of change. I never heard from this company one time. I submitted all papers and waited. If I had not kept calling in, I would still be waiting and papers would be missing. I called every week, talked to different people. I know you need to wait, but it would be nice to have them report something. Tell me they got all information. One guy told me I submitted the wrong medical/claim form, as it didn't have the name Allianz on the right top corner. I told them it did as I was looking at the form on my computer. He then says "Oh". I did give a 3-star rating as the people were friendly, got through quick and my friend got his money after 2 months. I am dissatisfied with the communication, though. The trick is call every week and be firm!
Repeatedly hung up on, told wrong information, would not give confirmation of coverage for rbc credit card insurance, 2 days trying only to get a return call in the middle of the night with no name left or extension. Operators/agents have Very poor english and cannot communicate. Been an RBC avion cardholder for 15 years, never had problems until they switched to Allianz. Absolute scam insurance!
This company should have been shutdown years ago, largely because they’re nothing but scammers! Submitted all the necessary forms for a cancelled trip due to a last minute medical issue, and all I got was to be waiting for 6 months! The online claim number that I was given kept coming up as invalid every time I tried to check on the status. When you finally get through to someone on the phone at Allianz, it’s pretty obvious they don’t give a @$&?! about you, and do their very best to make you go away. I honestly think that’s what they’re paid to do! As I said before, why is a company like this allowed to stay in business, for god’s sake.
This company is a scam. You can't reach the customer service. They process your claim for a long time then simply reject with invalid reasons. Ghosting you. Refuse to reply your email or answer your call. Don't purchase any service from this company. Is a waste of money, time and energy.
I had a medical problem (shoulder pain/strain?) while in Mexico in late Feb that continued into early March. I contacted Allianz about the problem after going to a local Dr. (cost $85) I explained my condition and also indicated the Dr wanted me to get an MRI. They approved this procedure. I then visited the Dr after this test was done. I was informed of test results, provided options, up to and including surgery. etc. I was given a prescription and advised to have physiotherapy.( which I did that Allianz approved in advance) If problems continued I was advised to share the results of the MRI with my Dr upon return to Canada.
Upon return I filed my claim in late April & waited and waited-no response. After finally getting thru to customer service rep (their phone recording always says they have 100+ minute wait but you can leave your number and they will call back- they don’t!) I was advised to send original paper copies to their office. I did. Waited another month, no action, over past 3 months I’ve talked to 4 different agents. I was advised one form wasn’t received (it was in pckg and previous agent said they had all forms!) I Resent this form, it is now November and I’ve received nothing from them. I’ve sent in queries via their website with no reply. I’ve talked to 4 agents, the last one saying it was with an Advisor reviewing the claim and it was a priority. Yeah right. Claim is for $600 but I doubt I’ll ever be reimbursed. Stay away from this company!!

WestJet Airlines has hit a new low in service with having Allianz Global as their travel insurance provider. Not only would Allianz not pay out on purchased insurance for a cancelled (actually a re-booked return) flight, their explanation note made absolutely no sense. "No benefit is payable for used expenses"? Speaking with an 'agent' to follow up on the explanation resulted in only more aggravation, having to resubmit all the information again through a ridiculously cumbersome online claim process, and getting absolutely nowhere - including no reimbursement of the claim for a big difference in flight cost.
