This insurance company is awful. I got travel insurance when need the emergence help they deny converge. I have to pay all the bills.
Please don't trust this company.
We required Trip Cancellation & Interruption insurance for $10,000.00 for 18 days. Checked with 3 providers. Received two quotes from one, direct from them $1,430.00 & thru travel agent $1,330.00. Another company $1,240.00 with a $10.00 membership purchase. Both companies provided their quote on the first call. Now Allianz! On the first call, was told someone would call back within 24 hours. Called again next day as no return call & was told the same thing. Had the situation escalated. Call back within 45 minutes and agent very difficult to understand. Was quoted $1,900.00 for exactly the same coverage. Based on my experience and exorbitant price, I will never call them again and most definitely do not recommend.
If I could put 0 stars I would. These people have given us the run around since day one. The are stalling, we are now being threatened by the hospital to be sued for non-payment. Allianz data team "made an error" and payments in their system have been entered to my father, who passed away.
I have been calling them constantly, always get the run around, no one really cares about all the stress we have gone through.
I sent a claim for an emergency situation in our last vacation and I am waiting for about a month. The claim has not been touched so far waiting review!
Unbelievable, I will not buy insurance with Allianz ever again or recommend to anybody.
Just lost a consumer for terrible service.
Had medical emergency with doctor report to not travel, I sent them the documents they ask for.
They kept dismissing my claim and asking for more documents they didn’t ask before.
My documents have been lost by Allianz agents, my address was incorrect in their correspondence to me, I wrote, emailed and called 4 times to correct the address and the service reps all said they could not change the address. Yet today, the service rep said she could. I have been dealing with Allianz for 1.5 years. It would have been less if the address was correct. Still dealing with a December 22 YVR flight cancellation. I never flew anyway and the note on my file stated my flight was not delayed by 6 or more hours, so the claim is ineligible. I actually stopped using my RBC Visa card because when I travel I need insurance coverage. My correspondence has been awful, even though I have been using the "submit" email I was told to use. Frustrating, and do not recommend.
Doesn't deserve 1 star! What a horrible company! Please stay from away from them. They don't like to pay out, and give you every excuse for not honoring your claim. I purchased two tickets for an event, I was so looking forward to attending, and spent close to $400.00 for two tickets. Unfortunately, I had surgery and could not attend, so I put in a claim since I THOUGHT, I was protected, but they found every reason to postpone, and delay payment which I never received from them. THE AUDACITY! Then, to add insult to injury, maybe one person spoke proper English. WTH???? How do they hire people to deal with customers that you have to struggle to understand? I am not exaggerating. I could not understand a word they were saying, which only added more wood to the fire. Also, their customer service representatives become very nasty when you tell them, you do not understand them. Allianz should be ashamed of themselves, because they do not like to pay your claims.
My new Iphone got stolen in Capetown. When I agreed to my travel insurance with Allianz it stated the handling of a claim could take up to 25 working days. So, 28 days after my claim, I called them to ask for a status. I got told that because it's super busy, it now takes up to 30 days to review a claim.
After 33 days, I called them again. They said it could take up to 40 working days, and now, when I thought it couldn't get any worse. They told me it could take up to 50 working days.
Can't even imagine how long it will take them to handle a claim in the summer, 120 days?
Ok, I put a claim in for a friend. He got hurt on holidays. Nothing serious, but cost him a fair chunk of change. I never heard from this company one time. I submitted all papers and waited. If I had not kept calling in, I would still be waiting and papers would be missing. I called every week, talked to different people. I know you need to wait, but it would be nice to have them report something. Tell me they got all information. One guy told me I submitted the wrong medical/claim form, as it didn't have the name Allianz on the right top corner. I told them it did as I was looking at the form on my computer. He then says "Oh". I did give a 3-star rating as the people were friendly, got through quick and my friend got his money after 2 months. I am dissatisfied with the communication, though. The trick is call every week and be firm!
I had EVERY possible thing I was supposed to have for my insurance, and they did NOT pay out. They make it impossible to fill out the claim in the first place, and then they don't pay out when you have EVERYTHING you're supposed to have. Do NOT waste your money.
