Damaged luggage claim

by Adam Gajewski on Sep 8, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

Totally hopeless. Avoid it and choose another insurance company. Simple claim for damaged luggage processed by 1.5 month, and concluded as not relevant, as these guys did not recognise what is reimbursement from air company for items I bought as my luggage was lost, and claim for the damaged case. Zero, literally zero professionalism, greedy for money, hope they will disappear from the market.

Still waiting

I had to cancel a trip due to pneumonia. We provided all the documents needed to Allianz but were told to reprovide each one in turn. Some were requested three times. We are still waiting over three months later. I do not believe they want to pay. The insurance charge was $1500.

They stall as long as possible hoping you give up on claims

I've spent probably, 10 hours of time, and 6 months to get a $300 claim, it is a total joke! Stay away from these scammers and use someone else.

Don’t waste your money

I purchased insurance for concert tickets. I wound up not being able to go. They claim it gives you peace of mind in case something comes up. Turns out they don’t cover a GD thing. They only cover “specific reasons” in order for a claim to be approved, and apparently, you need to be losing a kidney in order for it to be a qualifying reason!

Disgusting fraudulent business

by Pissed in Ontario on May 19, 2023

I recently traveled to Costa Rica early this year. 3 days into my trip I fell ill. 7 days in I was so sick I went to the clinic in Samara. The nurse did blood work, hooked me up to IV, and nebulizer, and put an antibiotic through the IV. Went to the pharmacy got my meds n was bedridden for 4 days.
Came home and still had this Bacterial infection I caught there, ended up dealing with this sickness for 4 more weeks.
This company, and the worst customer service EVER, took 3 months to decide nothing was covered under my insurance to their liking. So I'm out 800$US.
All they paid me was my insurance premium back...
Disgusting business practice.
NEVER DEAL WITH YOU AGAIN, AFTER 15 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE.

Did not cover my genuine travel problems

by Fatemi Ghani on May 18, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

I got full coverage for my business travel from Vancouver to Santa Cruz Bolivia in November 2022. I traveled from Vancouver to Cancun and was about to catch a flight to Santa Cruz when I came to know that there is a general strike all over the city, cars were being burnt, etc...
I had to come back to Vancouver and then again go in December with another ticket.
I filed the case with Allianz Insurance and my case kept on going and finally, they declined my claim saying that I am not eligible for the claim. If a person cannot travel due to a strike and complete lockdown of the city then what was the travel insurance cover me for? Wish you had 0 and I would have given that rating and not even 1!

RBC travel insurance/ Allianz provide an incredibly frustrating lack of service

by Alan C McDonald on Oct 20, 2022

6 months later they are still asking the same questions. You have to spell out everything 2 or 3 times. The documents provided clearly say no refunds yet they want proof of no refunds. We resubmit and circle and hilite that it clearly says no refunds. Why don't they read it themselves instead of creating more delays? The list of incompetency goes on and on.
They imply we can call them at 1-800... however, the recording usually says they have higher-than-expected calls and to call back again and again and again and again... All day every day for weeks.
I would never recommend RBC Travel Insurance or Allianz Global Assistance.
I could give a negative star I would.
