Not user friendly, making it feel like they have set up their systems to make it difficult to make claims.
I had a medical problem (shoulder pain/strain?) while in Mexico in late Feb that continued into early March. I contacted Allianz about the problem after going to a local Dr. (cost $85) I explained my condition and also indicated the Dr wanted me to get an MRI. They approved this procedure. I then visited the Dr after this test was done. I was informed of test results, provided options, up to and including surgery. etc. I was given a prescription and advised to have physiotherapy.( which I did that Allianz approved in advance) If problems continued I was advised to share the results of the MRI with my Dr upon return to Canada.
Upon return I filed my claim in late April & waited and waited-no response. After finally getting thru to customer service rep (their phone recording always says they have 100+ minute wait but you can leave your number and they will call back- they don’t!) I was advised to send original paper copies to their office. I did. Waited another month, no action, over past 3 months I’ve talked to 4 different agents. I was advised one form wasn’t received (it was in pckg and previous agent said they had all forms!) I Resent this form, it is now November and I’ve received nothing from them. I’ve sent in queries via their website with no reply. I’ve talked to 4 agents, the last one saying it was with an Advisor reviewing the claim and it was a priority. Yeah right. Claim is for $600 but I doubt I’ll ever be reimbursed. Stay away from this company!!
Filed a claim weeks ago and no one has even bothered to look at it. I work in the insurance industry as an adjuster and if I took this long to respond to a claimant I'd be fired. This company holds its independent Adjusters to a standard of contact in less than 2 hrs for new claims contact but can't bother to pick up a phone nearly a month later. Good thing I didn't have a severe Injury- who knows how long I'd be out of pocket or if I'll get paid at all. Go with another company who actually serves their customers.
Stay away from these scammers, it took me 2 years and till now I didn't get my claim and also the customer service is a disaster every time I call they just keep saying that it takes 48 hours to get a call it's been more than a week now and no one called.
These people are beyond incompetent. Lost claim, resubmitted, lost again, resubmitted. 6 months still no resolve. As for single verification doc at a time vs all together. Then lose any emails with requested docs. Pathetic places like this are even allowed to operate.
Claims never paid out, they make lot of excuses for not paying. It took them almost a year for an international travel claim and they end up not paying out anything. Customer service is one of the worst. Unprofessional service. I definitely not recommend it at all.
Totally hopeless. Avoid it and choose another insurance company. Simple claim for damaged luggage processed by 1.5 month, and concluded as not relevant, as these guys did not recognise what is reimbursement from air company for items I bought as my luggage was lost, and claim for the damaged case. Zero, literally zero professionalism, greedy for money, hope they will disappear from the market.
I had to cancel a trip due to pneumonia. We provided all the documents needed to Allianz but were told to reprovide each one in turn. Some were requested three times. We are still waiting over three months later. I do not believe they want to pay. The insurance charge was $1500.
I've spent probably, 10 hours of time, and 6 months to get a $300 claim, it is a total joke! Stay away from these scammers and use someone else.
Firstly. You have 10 days from the day you purchase the insurance to cancel. I booked my flights in September for a December trip, I found out in November that my plans were cancelled not within my control. The insurance (trip interruption/ cancellation) said that the airlines required reasons did match.
So I’m out the a cancellation fee with Air Canada. I asked for the refund on the insurance (Allianz) since what did I actually pay for. Nope 10 days !!!! They both payed off each other. One is as bad as the other.
I guess if I was called to war I would have had better luck.
I hope this helps someone out!
