It is April 8th, 2022 and I am still waiting for management to respond to my last request... These claim adjusters lie, change facts, ignore all correspondence and never look out for the insured's best interest... Although liability should have been fully established months ago... I am still being given the runaround... Soooo, I guess I've been paying for full coverage just to be screwed by my own insurance company... Best believe you all are getting sued! Disgusting behaviour this company has...
9 weeks to process claim, 1 week since completed claim documents and still have not received any money
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I had an accident in New York State on March 23, 2022, at 8 pm. I called Economical at 6 am on March 24 to report it. A nice Afterhours agent took the information and gave me a temp claim number. Told me to wait on the claim adjuster’s phone call and not leave Buffalo, NY to go back home to Canada.
I called Economical at about 1:30 pm on March 24 as I had not received a call from an adjuster. I ended up giving much of the same accident information a second time but the call ended up with “I’m sorry but I (the agent on the phone) can not get you a rental vehicle because the system won’t allow it.” Again, I was instructed to wait till an adjuster called. I was given a claim number this time.
We had a person drive us to the entrance of the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, NY. We walked across to Canada and then arranged an Uber ride home to Hamilton, Ontario.
Our insurance broker called on March 25 to see how it was going and instructed me to get my own rental vehicle which I did and keep all receipts.
Saturday, March 26. Still have not received a phone call from an adjuster.
So basically, don't believe promises of 24/7 emergency assistance from Economical Insurance: it doesn’t exist!!!
Worst experience ever. My car was stolen and recovered 3 days later. After multiple attempts ( voicemails and emails), 5 days later is when the adjuster got back to me. After that, it took another 3 days to respond to my questions about missing items from the car. A month later I was finally told my car was a write-off and was made an offer. That was almost 2 weeks ago am still waiting for my check. The adjuster won't answer my calls or respond to my emails.
I am currently sitting on day 31 since my car was stolen on Boxing Day and have yet to receive a settlement. My experience with Sonnet and Economical has been the absolute worst customer experience of my life. Throughout this whole horrible process I have called, messaged, chatted and emailed Sonnet and Economical customer representatives and my adjuster countless times and all I get is no response, empty promises of call-backs and supposed escalation that goes nowhere. When I finally spoke with my adjuster after countless complaints and resorting to Twitter, she told me the claim would be wrapped up by the end of the week but that was 10 days ago. I've been calling and emailing her directly for the past 10 days but she will not return calls or emails. If you're needing insurance don't run to the quick online deal through Sonnet. Support your local brick and mortar companies that actually have people you can go in and see who will answer your calls when you call and who will actually be the insurance you need for your car and sanity.
The worst insurance company that I’ve ever worked with. They are just raising prices and don’t care about customers. I’m waiting for a response on my claim already 3 months. I provided all the information that’s been asked. I found it myself even though it was in their system. I visited the police department 3 times to get it, and nothing happened. It is terrible. Would never recommend this company.
They are sooo much careless and don’t know what going on at their desk as well. They are handling the claim but didn’t know how to proceed it in a proper way
Hail damage 7/2, claim with Sonnet. Few calls later: body shop appt on 08/09 (ugh 5 weeks). 8/5, $1100+ into a new ECM and battery. Sept: weekly emails/ calls to "adjuster" go ignored. Send email to all stating FIFTH REQUEST as subject; windshield damage expanded, not safe, tires required for winter if keeping. "Adjuster" emails saying not her file, contact ** (no contact info). More emails. 10/05 told no damage report yet; call body shop. Days later, adj says "total loss". Ask about retention as cosmetic. A week later sent what they call comparable sales 100s of km away (higher mileage, months ago, the market is tight used now). Send 4 current, local ads; told their valuation is "independent"/non-negotiable. More emails; finally get a settlement offer letter on October 13. Sent registration & signed document back same day. Not in agreement; accepted to move on. October 26; email sent asking if they need anything else from me. Waiting
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
It has been 3 1/2 weeks since I submitted my claim for my vehicle.
The reputable auto repair shop (over 50 years of quality service in our city) requested an independent appraiser to come and see the vehicle.
We are still waiting for an adjuster.
Nothing has been done to repair our vehicle as of yet.
NO claim should take this long to resolve.
It's funny that the insurance company takes their premiums without hesitation, but it takes forever for them to follow through with their end of the policy.
Stay tuned.....
We recently had a collision with our vehicle. We contacted the insurance company immediately (Economical) and they walked us through the process and what we needed to do. The claims person we talked to (not the adjuster) was sympathetic and understanding and provided clear and accurate steps for us to take and what would happen next. After they had done their due diligence, the adjuster contacted us, advised the car was a "total loss" and provided us with the amount they offered as settlement. The amount offered was in line with current pricing for the car being written-off, off and even included the sales tax on that price. We were more than happy and satisfied with the way the adjuster and others handled this claim, and the amount paid out on our behalf. We strongly recommend this company as they have proven to stand behind the insurance provided and offered fair compensation in a most difficult time.
