Bad company

It has been 3 1/2 weeks since I submitted my claim for my vehicle.
The reputable auto repair shop (over 50 years of quality service in our city) requested an independent appraiser to come and see the vehicle.
We are still waiting for an adjuster.
Nothing has been done to repair our vehicle as of yet.
NO claim should take this long to resolve.
It's funny that the insurance company takes their premiums without hesitation, but it takes forever for them to follow through with their end of the policy.
Stay tuned.....
Chose Economical Insurance as their rates were the cheapest but it is a valuable lesson to do your research beforehand.
Submitted an auto claim on a Sunday evening spending 45 minutes giving all the details to the after-hours claims agent who promised to have the adjustor contact me back in 2 business days. After 4 days I contacted them back to check on the status of the claim only to be told that they do not have any information and that because they were very busy these past few weeks that their after-hours team have yet to file it in!
At this point, as a customer, you are not sure what to focus more on, the incompetence to properly take down information or the shambolic management!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I was a victim of fraudulent insurance by a broker named (Daniel C) a name that might be very familiar since he was all over the news in selling fake insurance. He sold me insurance from Economical which I received my package from them, then a few months later I got my cancellation package for non-payment even though I did pay this guy in full for the whole year. Right after that I called Economical and I sent them a trackable email with attachments proves that this guy got the money from me it even included audio attachments and pictures, so after speaking to them many many times and keep promising that they will escalate to the higher authority or manager or the underwriter but none of that was done. As I mentioned that the trackable email tells me how many times they opened my email, in fact, they did open it 116 times and I told them that yet all that I get from them is just promises but nothing in reality.
Worst customer service experience.
Going to change my auto and home insurance!
I asked the customer service lady why my premium went up, she told me like I cannot explain to you, it consists thousands of factors....it does not make sense to me...
Wost experience
I had a tree fall on my car one day and I was panicked and called Economical. The claims adjuster was incredibly friendly, understanding - and honestly took all my stress away. They arranged for my car to be repaired quickly and had a beautiful rental car ready for me too. Honestly, I was so pleased with the experience and would definitely recommend them!
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
My broker advised me that if your circumstances change, and you no longer fit their "target market / demographic" they will do crazy things, like jacking your rates through the roof to encourage you to leave. Well, it worked! I tried to add a second vehicle to my policy and my payments went from 150/month to 750 per month. Without the second vehicle, I'm suddenly $322 per month. This is basically highway robbery, and I would only recommend this company to my worst enemy. Also, these guys are next to impossible to get a hold of. Emails will often go several weeks without a response until you hound them again!
With the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdowns we've all experienced, many of us have not used our vehicles as often as we did. Meanwhile, all car insurance companies continue reaping the benefit of fewer accidents with the same or higher rates.
They have been called out publicly, even by the Ontario premier, that rebates need to be given back to consumers, but I have not received anything.
You can't even send them an email to ask why.
I called them (only option) and could only leave a message. I never received a response.
Bottom line, if your vehicle is rated for business use, you MAY have received a rebate over a 3 month period of between $10 and $50 dollars.
I recently had a very bad experience with Economical as my daughter was involved in a minor fender bender and the adjuster was arrogant and could not respond to a couple of simple questions related to the accident until I wrote to the CEO of the company after which I got responses to my questions.
Horrible company to deal with and I would not recommend them.
They are combined with my college stating to get a better quote ($200 more than belair im with now) i cancelled they continued to withdrawal money from my account twice!!!! Waiting 6 weeks for return. Not happy. Never suggest to anyone. I was with them for 4 year who else knows what other scams happened.

They don't answer customers. You can be on phone for a whole hour wanting to reach them. I had a rental by them and they called me, I mean one representative of Economical Insurance called to change the return date for my vehicle rental. I went by her words and it looks like she together with the rental company are trying to rip me of 170 bucks. All efforts to reach her by phone and email are fruitless. I can't get back my money I deposited for the rental either.
