Horrible experiences

My first couple years with this company were ok but this past year has been awful! Added home insurance which I was told would give 20% discount to auto, instead my auto jumped $13/mo plus my home insurance. Called to get this fixed and was told the guy who was supposed to enter the info was gone and didn't do it! Glad I noticed something was wrong! Then some punk lights our car on fire in front of our house while we are asleep inside. I call the next day and a lady at Cooperators sets us up in a rental and everything til we are assigned an adjuster Monday. Adjuster is a very unhappy sounding person who you can tell doesn't want to deal with this. I give her the police report number and everything. She calls back and leaves a message that they are not confirming coverage because the police are investigating because it is suspicious (well duh it should be cars don't randomly catch fire at 4am!)! Then says we informed Enterprise you are responsible to pay the rental and go have the car towed to you or salvage and your responsible for towing and storage fees. Oh but whenever the investigation is done if you have the receipts we will pay for some of it! Can not wait for this to be over so I can switch companies!!!

Unbelievable ignorant company

When I was looking for auto insurance I found cooperators online offering a quick quote. Since the quote was looking OK, I called them. After an unbelievable sermon of legal BS I was put into a waiting line. After 30 minutes wait there was still no answer. So I requested to be called up at a certain time and date. They never called! So then I looked up a number for in St. John (NB) The lady I got on the phone was rude and wanted me to call a number for another agency closer to my home address. When I finally got through there I was told that there would be nobody in the office to help me and I was asked to call a number in a branch (4hrs. away from home) I got an obviously older lady on the phone and she asked me to call a number closer to my home address. (I am NOT kidding!!!) The "service" this company offers is the absolutely worst I have ever experienced. STAY AWAY from them. Never call them, they don't want your business anyway.

Worst Customer Service

I called to get a quote for auto insurance from Cooperators. The representative is totally unprofessional and asking my information with the very poor manner and showing that she doesn't like her job at all and also she doesn't like that I am calling to get a quote. She asked me why I need insurance? Hahaha, I answered I cannot drive without insurance in Canada and that's why I need this. I felt like I did wrong because I am calling this stupid company to get a quote and tried to give business to them. She said I need to send my driving abstract to them to get the insurance. Because this is their policy and they have to see If I had 15 accidents in earlier. That made me super dumb and surprised!!! I told her I don't have any accidents in the past and I am a customer and calling to do business with your company and she shouldn't talk to a customer like that way. I am very happy that I didn't go too far and got insurance from this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

We had an accident with our truck where someone t-boned us. Everything was set up. Truck to be repaired & a rental. Our claim rep told us where to pick up the rental. Well after dropping the truck off at the body shop & going to pick up our rental. The rental company informs us that we can not pick it up due to being under the age of 25. Under standing. But our Rep should have been aware of the guide lines, Try the next rental place in our town & they can not give us a rental due to being on a GDL. (Which our rep didn't even know what a GDL was) She tried a place in the city (1.5hrs away) They need a deposit of $150 paid but us. Not taken care of by insurance. Not to mention it was a small car (We live down a long gravel road in the country, a car will not due)
I was very disappointed in the rep due to not being able to check out with rental company's to see what their policy's were when renting. So because we are still young & haven't been in to the city to get off the GDL we are totally screwed out of a vehicle till ours is down. Not knowing how I will be getting home tonight. & Not like she cared about the situation she left us in either.

Ridiculous policy

Vehicle was involved in a no fault claim as a driver hit the back of our vehicle and pushed it into the truck in front causing the air bags to deploy.

After following up with the insurance company 3 times, Cooperators decided to write the vehicle off. At the time they advised us of the settlement we were told we had to return the rental car that day as the decision had been made. The cheque was to be sent to the agent and would be available in 2-3 days.

Despite explaining the inconvenience and that we had rental car coverage, Cooperators refused and demanded the car returned. Talking to the agent Robert H. was of no use as they never returned calls on how they could resolve this.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

Very bad service, so bad

Called many times they put you on hold forever. Emails no one replied, I am glad that I did not go with them. After reading the people comments I am very surprised the company still existed. I think an only 1-2 person working at the company. Lousy service, and bad services sooner or late they will be out of business. I don’t the even worth a 1 star.

DO NOT GO HERE

This company is a joke, if you want great customer service, and feel like you have been helped do not go here. The financial advisor was belittling me because I was able to provide a document to show my driving history. It all started with a phone call, I had called in seeking a quote and wasn't able to be given one. My advisor, over the phone she was very rude, very unfriendly, belittled my situation, and didn't call me back for my quote. I had to go to another agent over the phone, to be given a great price. The agent I worked with over the phone had advised me to pay at the main office by debit only to realize that the agent I originally worked with took on my file once again. She again continued to be rude, obnoxious and belittled me over my file. Do not go here!

Not good service.

As a person who had never been insured under my own name, I went with Cooperators as it was the cheapest option. However, after a year, I realized that I was being completely ripped off. I had payment issues twice and was charged $100.00, even though it wasn't my fault that they did not process the change in my banking info. Also, I have never been able to get a hold of anyone at the KING office. Every time I called, I have been transferred to the head office. I am pretty sure all they do is go out to lunch, or not come in. Lastly, I finally got around to cancel the insurance, yet I check my account and see they have decided to pull out money and continue my insurance. These people are incompetent, and to get one issue resolved you must call at least 5 times, over a two-week span to resolve anything! PS: They offer a 5% discount for using a driving device. My new company offers up to 25%, and they gave me a cheaper quote than I got to renew my insurance after being with Cooperators for a year.

I had both home and auto, but sold my home and asked for a rebate along with some general questions in regards to my premium. They advised me that I was due about $24.00, but sent me a cheque for $8.77 while I was waiting for a return call from a supervisor (advocate). My initial call was Feb. 13/18 - no return call. 2nd call Feb 16/18 - no return call. 3rd call Feb 23/18 - after begging for 20 minutes, the CSR had an advocate call me. This is the 3rd time that I initiated a call to the Cooperators. April 2nd/18 - I receive their "Final Position" letter where they "sincerely apologize that they could not meet my service expectations" - Apparently, my expectation to actually receive a return call from them was way over their ability in selling a service. I would think twice before you choose them for your insurance as they have definitely lowered the bar on customer service in this industry.
