Horrible experiences

The horrible company cancelled my insurance TWICE and they still keep taking payments from me. I called 3 weeks before my payment date and cancelled, the lady I spoke with told me it was taken care of. Fast forward to the 25th where my payment is originally due, I checked my account and they still took payment. I emailed them and asked what happened and she told me they don’t cancel policies over the phone and of course, I’m angry: the lady who originally cancelled my insurance lied to me. So I cancelled through email and asked for reimbursement on that last payment due to the fact I lost my job from COVID 19 and needed that money for priorities. I explained that and got a refund only to find that the retook the money out of my account only 5 days later. Not very happy with this place and I will never go back or ever recommend to anyone.
I had auto insurance for two of my cars with this company, and the individual I dealt in the past was a really nice lady. Who offered me the best customer service. But my file was transferred over to someone other individuals in this company, and I have spoken to them about insurance for my new car. Which they agreed and quoted me on and I also provided them with the date of receiving the vehicle. On the date of signing my vehicle, they called me an hour before that and told me my insurance was cancelled and I have 15 days. And gave me all invalid and unrelated reasons. My record was clear, no tickets, no claims, no accidents. I have been with them for so long. Had a good record and relationship, yet they provided me with the worst customer service. Especially the individual whom I spoke to. Disgusting manners. Never AGAIN with this insurance company. They don't know what professionalism is and sounds like they don't even like working there.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
You apply to insurance to follow the laws of your province.
Though, you pick the insurance that you think will fit your needs best.
Especially when accidents happen, whether at fault or not.
You pay money into their program, hopefully for the coverage that aids you best.
This company doesn't care you pay them for their coverage.
They dropped our coverage because we are “high Risk” even though we also paid a fee for the coverage. Plus, we paid minimum rates they don't cover.
Then they tried to sell us to a sister company and then in a year we could go back like we'd want to go back to a company that doesn't want to cover us when we pay for their coverage.
Don't go with cooperators unless your car only sits in your driveway.
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration regarding my recent experience with your insurance company.
To my surprise, I discovered a cancellation fee of $224.27, which I find excessive given the short duration of coverage. What adds to my dismay is the deduction of the down payment of $397.92 for just 9 days of coverage from December 22 to December 31. I believe it is only fair to consider one month as 30 days, not 8 days, making the charge seem exorbitant for the period in question.
Subsequent to the cancellation by the co-operator, I promptly secured alternative car insurance, which I am now paying approximately $230 per month. However, your expectation that I pay $622 for a mere 19 days of coverage is both unreasonable and disappointing. It is disheartening to be charged such an amount when I am now paying significantly less for a month of coverage with another provider.
I'm having a difficult time with this insurance company. I was misquoted TWICE by agents. First agent told me a price monthly only to receive a request for 4 times the amount in April. I canceled and went with the basic however I needed my car on the road for a few day in September. Spoke with this lady, confirm the price over 3 times with this agent due to previous experience. After using the service for a month this company is trying to charge me 3 times more the amount than quoted. Had my calls escalated, it was reviewed and the manager confirms the agent told me a particular price but still requesting for me to pay the overcharged amount. I need this issue to be escalated again however they're demanding I pay the extra money. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone!!! They always try to overcharged their customers
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Be cautious with this company! After I was promised their premiums were competitive I was tired of all the increases (I had been a customer for 15+ years).
I contacted a broker and discovered another company offered a 25% decrease compared to the premiums I was currently paying for 2 autos and a home policy.
Cooperators could not match the offer I received from another company.
I cancelled my two auto policies in December 2021 and just this month discovered the premiums were never properly cancelled and I was billed over $1500 worth of premiums. I requested a 5% interest payment ($75) but was told this is something that Cooperators does not do. Ironically if you are late on a payment they will charge you interest.
I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Be very careful of their tactics.
I had my insurance cancelled after 10+ years. Received a letter stating I have 1 or more major criminal driving convictions when I don't have anything on my record.
Was spoken down to by Ryan, the insurance broker.
After insurance moved elsewhere a past was taken for 13/4 of the monthly payment from my bank with no explanation. I inquired and I don't get a response. Thus is how Hanover Cooperators treat their long-time customers. Brutal company and insurance broker.
They don't stand behind their policies. Do yourself a favour and insurance elsewhere. I did and found a better price.
Stay away from this company they don’t honour their own policies, they don’t answer questions, they are flat out rude and organized, I was with them 5 years had two very minor incidents they told me my accident forgiveness no longer applies and tripped my rates after the second one. When I asked questions they asked me for proof of registration and cancelled my policy before getting written notice in the mail blocking my access to my online services account and demanded that I still owed money. When I placed a stop payment on my account my bank informed me they had been taking money out under two different names so I had to place two stop payments. When I finally got my cancellation notice they cancelled it because they didn’t get proof of registration and one of the forms I signed 6 weeks before cancellation apparently wasn’t dated. This company has been caught lying to me on more than one occasion and has the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
They stole my money.
I cancelled early 15 days and they don't pay me back also they make a 115$ extra for my monthly payment for no reason ...

My first couple years with this company were ok but this past year has been awful! Added home insurance which I was told would give 20% discount to auto, instead my auto jumped $13/mo plus my home insurance. Called to get this fixed and was told the guy who was supposed to enter the info was gone and didn't do it! Glad I noticed something was wrong! Then some punk lights our car on fire in front of our house while we are asleep inside. I call the next day and a lady at Cooperators sets us up in a rental and everything til we are assigned an adjuster Monday. Adjuster is a very unhappy sounding person who you can tell doesn't want to deal with this. I give her the police report number and everything. She calls back and leaves a message that they are not confirming coverage because the police are investigating because it is suspicious (well duh it should be cars don't randomly catch fire at 4am!)! Then says we informed Enterprise you are responsible to pay the rental and go have the car towed to you or salvage and your responsible for towing and storage fees. Oh but whenever the investigation is done if you have the receipts we will pay for some of it! Can not wait for this to be over so I can switch companies!!!
