Over two hours waiting for RBC Disputes Department. Hung up after over two hours of canned music, and set up an appointment online for a callback. The call back (for which I waited almost three hours) informed me I had to call back Disputes and wait for them to answer!!!
On top of that, I was informed Disputes was closing for the weekend in 15 minutes and I wouldn’t be able to get through until the next business day. I asked for a supervisor. For that, I have to wait several days with no idea or time frame for a callback.
This bank is making billions upon billions of dollars off Canadians yet refuses to hire enough staff to deal with transaction disputes.
After over five hours of waiting my dispute, which is entirely above board, remains unaddressed.
So entirely unacceptable!!!!
I booked a flight with my RBC reward points and it got cancelled.
I spent 7 hours on hold over 3 days to speak with someone from the RBC rewards team to ask for my points to be credited back to my account following this cancellation.
When I finally was able to talk to someone, the person was useless and just gave me an email address to send my request after spending 30 min asking me the same questions over and over.
My email request was sent more than 5 weeks ago and still nothing.
I am not even asking for a cash refund or any indemnification I just want points back.
It is shameful to treat customers this way.

Our fight tickets were cancelled by RBC rewards last year due to pandemic. We called 6 times in the past couple of weeks given the number they provided, but none of it get through, each time we try to wait 3-4 hours. Today we finally got someone over the phone, and she told us it's the service department issue, they are in sales and don't deal with it. We start to wonder if it's all Scams, and no one actually working on the other side of the service department phone line. Are they just trying to wait it out till your credit expires and not to bother them again??? Points + cash we paid by ourselves totally $1000 down the drain...
Their website keeps crashing while you do your booking which makes it very hard to be accurate. Because of this, there was an error in a name and it took me 4 days and being on hold collectively for 8 hours total just to fix this problem. Extremely frustrating, very understaffed and no management to call or email you back. I wouldn’t waste your money, just abandon your points you better off.
Customer service is virtually useless. I had to buy tickets for my family when their partner Delta said our RBC-supplied tickets were not validated. Have waited months for a refund - unable to talk to anyone. E-Mail is the only option - very frustrating.

Currently on my way to whatever RBC I can find first. The reason of being, I will be cancelling and closing anything and everything that affiliates me with them. After being on hold for 9 HOURS!!! (Wait time is 62 minutes…or just about 600 minutes is what they meant) For anyone saying why would you ever wait that long? That’s because nothing can be done online.
Each and every avenue brings you right back to the same old 800 number. All of this was to change an upcoming trip by one week, but a family emergency forced out hand. Half of the family is with another credit card. They waited 40 minutes and paid 41.00$ extra per passenger (more and acceptable) RBC REWARDS, 9-hour wait. 300.00$ per passenger extra. But how come you ask? Fuel cost… Not only were the people as unhelpful as it gets, but after fighting tooth and nail getting nowhere, we have no choice but to comply. Finally to make things worse, if these people aren’t out of touch, they wanted to know if I wanted to choose my seats and include a checked bag for 300.00$ more per person lol.
This is the second review I have written in my 34 years on this earth. I only do it because when I have an experience as bad as this one, I will always try and save people from the same nightmare. Thanks
I need to buy some furniture, so paid my credit card in full ahead of the due date to be able to spend more. I was told the full credit will be available immediately to use, however, it has been 3 days since I paid but it is still not reflecting on the available credit. I have called 3 times so far and waited for a long time, last time the operator literally hung up on me. I still can't access my own money which is quite frustrating.
I cancelled my card over a month ago, making sure to call a few weeks after to check if I ‘owed’ any more money (usually always some sort of interest). Sure enough, I did so I paid it immediately. Here we are over a month later and they send me a bill. Seriously??!! I called to see what it was for and was told they can’t help me over the phone because my card is cancelled. I would have to go into a branch I don’t have any RBC products other than the credit card I had… It’s closed, you can’t help over the phone? But can send a random bill that I now have to go into a branch to deal with!!! So happy I have nothing else with RBC

We tried for 2 days to book a flight. Used points. Web site down. The new got it going and we couldn’t book seats. The flight was full. Called Air Canada and then RBC and then Air Canada. Then RBC. What a load of nonsense.
Going to tear out the cards and not ever use them again. So 100,000 down the drain in points. No one can do or help you, they just pass the buck.
The worst customer service on earth! Try to avoid them, they are impossible! You can't talk to a professional person!
Try to avoid them as much as you can! Even the telephone number for customer service they put on the web, doesn't work!!!!
I better buy expensive tickets than waste hours and days online.
I'm going to miss two flights, they really don't care!
And they are also expensive and don't have all the flights available in the market.
