Customer care

by AJITH HIRIMUTHUGODA on Sep 17, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I got the Walmart master card recently and had no problem for several months, but today my card was declined at a Mississauga Walmart outlet. My payments were up to date. The customer care people at the location were not able to help me so I called the number 1883316133 several times and contacted a gentleman who was very rude and incomprehensive. After some stupid questions, he was suggesting ultimately closing my account and hung up this incident happened around 5.00 pm on 17 September. Around 6.00 pm another girl called me and she was asking for my driver's license number to unblock my card which is ridiculous!
They were interrogating me as a common criminal! The worst ever experience in my life with a credit card.

Worst customer service

by Grace Njuguna on Sep 14, 2022

If there was 0 stars I would rate this card a 0. Their customer service is terrible, I called them multiple times for the same issue with 0 help, I felt like I was begging for assistance.

Several times not been successful to reach someone who can understand my problem.

by Joyco on Sep 14, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I can not locate a master card service person to resolve this issue.
I called too many times and was so annoying. I’ve had it. I Can't even reach one to cancel.
I recently billed in the mail today it was anger all over again.
They actually tell me I didn’t pay. Ending up paying twice with all the text messages and emails they interrupted my day with.
The bill says I didn’t pay on time and only recorded 25$ which was the second payment.
However, the first payment for the same month was 200$.
No note to represent my payment. Went online and checked my bank and all went through.
The thing is I do not have the time or the patients to deal with overseas contact.
It doesn’t work.
Unable to contact an agent in Canada.
I will not be doing any service that doesn’t provide proper service.
I would rather pay for service.
Very very done. I don’t need it.

Not Recommendable

by 2022 - Reviewer on Sep 14, 2022

The customer service is horrible. Good luck trying to speak to a person, who has the ability to communicate in English. The wait times are outrageous. My account was hacked/manipulated - and all my rewards money was gone. Then, the account was closed - without my permission. Incompetent employees. Will not likely ever open another account with them. The interest rate is one of the worst among retail stores. Avoid at all costs. I paid off the balance owed and ask to have the account closed. Pathetic is an understatement.

Incompetent customer service at a call center

by C lavell on Sep 12, 2022

It took 57 minutes to resolve a simple question. I was passed from agent to agent. Most could not understand my question. I will be cancelling my credit card because I am seriously concerned that if I actually had an important question that there is no way it would be handled in a professional manner.

BAD MARKETING

by Customer at walmart on Sep 11, 2022
2 out of 5 stars

Definitely, it's not worth it to get it cause they have very high-interest rates. Walmart makes money by not allowing the customer to check the outstanding amount at Walmart. So if you go to Walmart and ask them to check the outstanding amount, they wouldn't know. It's a no Brainerd for them to do that as some customers might miss a payment... The only good thing is the customer service, but the marketing idea is really poor. I suggest not getting one if you have a CC with a bank.

Unbelievably horrendous support

by Vinayak on Sep 10, 2022

Beware. Don't get misled by the various paid (fake) reviews about the Walmart rewards card. Look at the actual customer reviews which will open your eyes. Except for the 'rewards' that you can use only at Walmart, this is a very bad card with horrible customer support. If you have any dispute then God saves you. First, call customer support. They say 'you have to wait until the merchant charges your card, right now it is pending merchant action'. But I realized this is a fraudulent merchant with a fake website, can't you stop them from charging my card? 'No, we can't do that'. Ok, so you call 'after' the card is charged. you get transferred to their 'security' team. they waste 15-20 minutes of your time and then say that 'this should be handled by our dispute team' and they transfer you there. The 'dispute' team wastes another 15 minutes of your time and then says 'oh this is a 'world' master card so we have to transfer you to another dispute team'... 15-20 more minutes then they say 'ok we can create the dispute but you have to call the 'actual' dispute team who work only Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm'. Really? 'and we cannot provide you the direct number of that team, you have to go through support'. Really? So the time of their teams is important but the customer's time is not? Does a customer have to waste hours just to file a dispute for a fraudulent transaction? And why should the customer be thrown around between their various departments? None of their customer support seems to be empowered to do 'anything' other than say the same standard statements again and again like a parrot. worst ever.

Zero assistance

by John on Aug 29, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Phoned them on a Thursday and said I’m going out of province and was told zero issues will happen.
Left Friday. Saturday morning my card was blocked. Told them I had to fax them documents. Currently, Monday 3 days 12 times faxing documents and all I’m told is they are sorry for the inconvenience. I wish I had never applied for this card. Avoid at all costs

The worst customer service

by Don2022 on Aug 26, 2022
2 out of 5 stars

I always settle my balance on time. I haven't received my June invoice, but have received a text message overdue notice. They charge me overdue fees and interest. I complained and asked for overdue fees and interest to be waived and she said "no sir".
I asked her to send my complaint to the management team and she replied "no sir". I emailed Ombudsman and after a month I have not received any feedback yet.

Fraudulant billing practices

by Kim Irwin on Aug 18, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I tried to cancel my card unsuccessfully for 4 months. I called customer service each month and was told it was my final bill, only to get another one. My last bill included new transactions even though I no longer had the card. I called to inquire and was told I had asked for installments on purchase months previous but I had not. I asked again for the final bill and if they could at least credit me the interest. I was told no and when I asked for a supervisor was told there was none Then the representative hung up on me!
