The worst customer service

by Don2022 on Aug 26, 2022
2 out of 5 stars

I always settle my balance on time. I haven't received my June invoice, but have received a text message overdue notice. They charge me overdue fees and interest. I complained and asked for overdue fees and interest to be waived and she said "no sir".
I asked her to send my complaint to the management team and she replied "no sir". I emailed Ombudsman and after a month I have not received any feedback yet.

Fraudulant billing practices

by Kim Irwin on Aug 18, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I tried to cancel my card unsuccessfully for 4 months. I called customer service each month and was told it was my final bill, only to get another one. My last bill included new transactions even though I no longer had the card. I called to inquire and was told I had asked for installments on purchase months previous but I had not. I asked again for the final bill and if they could at least credit me the interest. I was told no and when I asked for a supervisor was told there was none Then the representative hung up on me!

Ruined my Credit

by Amrita Jhuman on Aug 16, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I have had a Mastercard with Walmart for more than 7 years. I always did my best to pay the balances. During the last 2 years (the Covid-19 lockdown period), I did my best to make my minimum payments given all the loss of work and income I have had to endure. In June 2022 I was able to reduce my balance to 80% and was happy because at least now I thought this would help my credit. Last week I received an email informing me that Walmart reduced my credit limit to what has now become my maximum balance owing. As a result, my monthly interest payments have increased and my credit looks worse than ever. I still do not understand their reasoning for doing this, because this has further destroyed my credit by making me have a ratio of 90% use of my Mastercard.
Thanks, Walmart for ruining my credit! You don't help people but destroy them.

Security Department = Brain Dead

by Toledo on Aug 13, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Went to Walmart and they convinced me to apply for the Walmart Mastercard. Gave the cashier my ID she punched it in and approved it right away. I called customer service a few days later and they verified my details and told me the card was already sent out. After 10 days no card. Called in today to check on the card. They tell me it was never sent out because of an address problem. They transfer me to the security department where "Penny" in the Philippines answers. He tells me the address is wrong. I give them the same address on my ID. They said my address is wrong and I said okay do you want me to send you my ID? The response from Penny "Sir I'm trying to do a check". He kept talking to me like I was a 5-year-old child. So this so-called "Penny" goes on and on, "sir I'm working". I asked what was wrong with the address. "Sir I'm working". He said I cannot tell you what's wrong even after confirming my details were correct. He then ends the call by telling me I have to go sir and I will call you back in one hour. As many have mentioned here the security department never calls back. Waited 3 hours and called back again. Same song and dance. Customer service tells me the card is approved and will be sent out. I told them I want to speak to the security department. They again confirmed to address the problem and I have to call you back today. No call. Completely brain dead. The cashier entered in all my details and they make it sound like I am a criminal. I wish the bank behind this Walmart Mastercard would ask me to call them. I would love to speak to these people.

Walmart Rewards Mastercard is the worst

by Sarah on Jul 30, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

Walmart Rewards Mastercard is the worst card I have ever experienced. Customer service is the worst, I waisted about 15 total hours to explain to them that I haven't received my card and was charged for interest. The delay was from their end. They informed me that I will get $10 the first time using the card, and then when I decided to use it, they informed me that I am not eligible for that $10 because I did not use it in the first month. People in customer service are not qualified people and don't know what does customer service representative mean. I will cancel my membership as soon as I got rid of the interest charges I got because of their delays.

AWFUL customer service of Walmart Mastercard Credit Card

by Cristiane on Jul 7, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I lost my card, called in May for a replacement never received the card replacement, and never received a request for payment. In June received a collection letter.
Called on June 27 got the total amount owed and paid, and tried to cancel, they never answer the cancel call so I could not cancel.
Called again on July 7 they informed me there was no outstanding payment, then again I tried to cancel. They sent me to 3 different customer service representatives the last one hung up the phone on me.
They say I will not have any issue if I don't cancel the card, just leave it, because I don`t have any outstanding value to pay.
I don`t trust them.
Because of this, my credit report is down by 150 points. What can come next?
I have to give one star to the customer service because there isn't an option of ZERO STARS.

Bad Customer service

by Hewa barzani on Jul 4, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

I’ve been lied to for the past three weeks by customer service agents in Walmart Mastercard. My account has been locked for a while and all I have been trying to do is unlock it. The agents pick up and tell me that they’ll give me a call later after they identify the issue but they never end up calling me. So dissatisfied and I wish I didn’t sign up for this.

WALMART World Financial MC is a SCAM!!!

by JMac on Jun 27, 2022
1 out of 5 stars

1. It takes 30 days to get your card
2. They don't tell you that if you don't use it for 6 months they cancel your card & charge your $10
3. If you make an overpayment it takes over 3 months to get your $$ credit & if you don't use it within the 6 months they then deduct the overpayment $10... Not about 10 bucks but principle!!!
4. If your balance is $5 & not paid for whatever reason they harass you daily with phone calls yet they take months to refund an overpayment
5. Avoid this credit card & go through a reputable bank for credit - Walmart is a complete SCAM & UNREPUTABLE

Not worth the hassle

by BlueSky on Jun 26, 2022

About two or three times a year my card gets frozen with no notice. I have to call to security centre to confirm recent purchases and payments. It is absolutely ridiculous as it isn’t even triggered by large purchases. It was triggered by me travelling to a city 2 hours from home which is a regular trip I’ve made every 6-8 weeks for the last 8 years! They don’t call you, you just find out when you are trying to make a purchase and find your card is declined. It’s very embarrassing considering I’m never over my limit and I pay it off in full every month. The phone call to get everything straightened around takes a minimum of 15 minutes plus an extra 10 to get it ‘through the system’. The last time this happened I had only taken the one card in with me, not my entire purse so I couldn’t just whip out another card or cash to pay.

They froze it at Christmas time when I was ordering gifts during the Black Friday sales. Had email confirmations of all the orders. The next time I shopped in the store I found out my card had been frozen. Made the call, and got everything fixed. The following week when I realized I hadn’t gotten any notices that any online purchases were shipped I went back to all the websites only to find all the orders were cancelled because the Walmart Credit Card wouldn’t authorize the purchases. I ended up having to reorder everything at a regular price (what I could find still in stock).

I have also a Visa card as well and they’ve never frozen my card. I’ve had a couple of calls from them over the years verifying purchases but they’ve never frozen my card.

I’ve finally reached my breaking point and am now in the process of applying for a replacement Master Card from another financial institution.
