Horrible!!

by Jay on May 2, 2018
1 out of 5 stars

If I could give Primerica zero stars, I would. When I called customer service to cancel my membership, a guy told me he cancelled it. After a couple of months, I noticed that Primerica was still charging my bank account. I called again and a woman hung up on me after I told her I’d like to cancel my membership. I called again and I was transferred to someone else, then put on hold multiple times. Finally, I spoke to a woman who has said she cancelled my membership. I cannot get a refund for a service I was not using nor can they tell me why another man told me he cancelled my membership when he really didn’t. This is all a scam to get your money. They’re sneaky enough to make you feel comfortable enough to believe them. Their agents are horrible.

Bad practices

A representative of this company has been forcing my parents to make me get an insurance and is doing it without my discretion. Would rate 0/5. I am of legal age and she should respect her client's request not to keep on bugging him.

Thinking of getting a life insurance quote from an insurance agent? They work for one insurance company and can only sell the products of that company. That may not result in the best rate for you. Our insurance brokers compare life insurance quotes across 20+ Canadian insurers for you.

4 reasons not Primerica

by Reasons on May 12, 2016
1 out of 5 stars

(1) Primerica employs a one size fits all philosophy. Term insurance may often be the best solution but what if insurance is needed a lifetime? Examples: disabled child, to offset taxes, funeral expenses for life.

(2) Primerica is more expensive than the traditional life insurers such as Sun Life Financial.

(3) Primerica's term policies are never convertible to permanent insurance, whereas traditional insurers allow this.

(4) Primerica is the only company that allows advisors to work part-time.

Over-priced products

I compared pricing online and Primerica was charging my wife and I 63% more than equally rated insurers. Won't deal with them ever again.

Unprofessional agents

by Cindy on Oct 29, 2015

I have dealt with two different Primerica agents on two different occasions and both were unethical and unprofessional. Neither one of them is educated or works full time for Primerica. Why would I buy my life insurance from someone who doesn't know much about insurance and only works in insurance a couple of hours a week because they have a full time job elsewhere?

Did you know that mortgage insurance is the same as life insurance but more expensive and offers less protection? By cancelling it and getting life insurance, you would typically save around 30%-40% for the same coverage.

Primerica did not just offer me the most affordable and effective insurance products, they explained how the policy worked and set me on a path to retirement.

Disgusting

Signed up in 2011. Being a single mother I needed to make sure my kids were taken care of. Well recently my kids' lives got bad and we had to move and I had to change my bank information, called and texted my representative with the new information. Months later find out payments are not coming out, Call the company and all they have to say is too bad, I can start a new policy but all the money I put in since 2011 is gone...

Planning to get life insurance to protect your family, including children? Make sure that you get enough coverage. According to studies, it takes about $250,000 in total to raise a child to the age of 18 (and that doesn’t include any post-secondary education costs).

Straight forward approach

When my old contract was examined next to my now Primerica contract, it was obvious that the slight price savings of the old insurer was not worth the major financial loss over the lifetime of the policy.
