Terrible

25 years veteran treated really poorly, agents are evasive or don’t answer clearly to clear questions. Agents who are not doctors or nurses ask medical questions …. Their process is really confusing. When asked about their process and policies … they are again evasive and don’t really answer … hard to know if it’s incompetence or fraudulent system. Their online system is not working … really time-consuming dealing with them… the 500 million that was given to them to manage veterans and public servants is going to waste…

The stress this is causing so many veterans

It's been over a year and I still can't get coverage, even thought you take my money every month. I'm a veteran of 28 years of service for this country. Now that Canada life has taken over, it's been a year and I'm still paying out of pocket for medications. I completed positive enrollment and after 6 months of misery I was finally able to submit a claim. It worked for 2 months then all my info was deleted and now my family is not covered again. I spend hours on the phone but no one answers. The website does not work, I can't update my profile or submit claims. So what does a veteran do, I guess my only step is the media, I've sent messages, complaints, contacted my member of parliament but here we are still dealing with this very sad excuse for insurance companies. I would love for someone preferably a top executive to contact me to explain why they can not do their job.

Do not buy Canada Life's Group Insurance

This company makes it really hard to cancel the group benefit plan. Their online tool is very difficult to use with tons user names and password that you can not remember. After you figure out, their website does NOT allow you to cancel. You have to call in to talk to their "Service Advisor" in person, which is a voice mail!

Terrible

I was added to my husbands benefits but it won’t let me make a claim as the website thinks i have other coverage. When I try to update my profile it doesn’t work. I have been calling canadalife for 3 months now, they say someone will get back to me but they never do. Its ridiculous, I have claims to make and am unable to make them. Terrible service

I have made dozens of phone calls to them, the calls are never answered or you wait in the queue for so long it times out and hangs up on you.
They have online chat, I have tried that on numerous occasions, only to be put in wait and no one answers, ever.
i have sent 6 email inquiries through their on line website and have never received a reply to my concern. Just a "we received your request and will get back to you in a few days". Months is not a few days.
THE LEVEL OF SERVICE WITH THIS COMPANY IS ZERO. AVOID THEM

So hard to reach

They never reply to email and / or message
their claim system over their website is not working for days
their claim system over the mobile app is not working
waiting time to speak to someone is 60 minutes facing the hangup after long wait

Is this a real company or just a scam

Extremely difficult to call for any kind of assistance with my plan. It turns out I was having trouble because they changed my policy number without telling me.
It took numerous tries to call them - I would be on hold for 15 minutes and then the line would automatically drop, telling me to try again later.
The website was very useless and frustrating.

Bad health plan

I paid around 2000/year. This plan said it's will cover 80 percent of fees for the drug, but when I claim for that. It's only paid me 20 percent of the full price. Just bad, and the bad web log in entry. Don't trust this company.

Poor coverage

I have to submit health claims 5 times before getting payment for 1 chiropractor visit. It was submitted in September and paid for in December after submitting it 5 times. In a time of Covid wouldn't cover a hospital stay and expected me to be in a room with 4 other patients. Paying $350 per month for my plan and only letting 80% coverage on limited things is a waste of money. This company is terrible to deal with! The website is not user friendly, long wait times on hold and waiting months for payment...
