The Worst Company Ever!!

Please, don't take out an insurance policy with Canada Life. I called to obtain a proof of insurance for my daughter's university. No one knows what they're doing. Every time I called, they tell me to do something different. It's been 27 days now. Still can get a simple letter. My daughter will end up paying for insurance, which I have already paid for. They don't care that people have to lose money.
I would advise individuals against engaging in any business dealings with Canada Life, as my experience with their insurance services has been unsatisfactory. The lengthy processing times and lack of clear communication have resulted in numerous errors and the need for repeated submission and reevaluation of requests.
Furthermore, it appears that the company is inclined to seek justifications to deny claims.
In my opinion, companies seeking cost-effective and reliable insurance solutions should explore alternatives to Canada Life.
I literally couldn't recommend a company less. I have no idea why our HR switched to Canada Life, but it takes over 6+ months to get any money back. I put in claims over 8 months ago, then left the company, and now they're refusing to pay me. Literally, AVOID at all costs. Horrible company.
I applied for my common-law partner to be on my insurance last November. It only got approved the next April. In the meantime, her wisdom teeth started to come out, and we decided to go to the dentist. I called to make sure that we were not in the waiting contribution period. The agent told me to go ahead with my dental appointment in July. Eventually, my dental insurance claim for her got denied because the contribution period was 1 year in their policy and my common-law was considered as a late applicant. Well, I'm so angry that they gave me the green light when clearly their agents do not even know their own policy. What a nightmare of an insurance company. How unfair is it?
Canada life admins are absolutely the worst office to deal with,
Workers seems unhappy & uncaring when they finally answered or talk to you. It takes weeks/months to speak to a live person. No return calls or emails.
When you fax or email documents as directed, they will still tell you they didn't receive it. It's just very frustrating & a bad experience.
I only use it because of my employer…
25 years veteran treated really poorly, agents are evasive or don’t answer clearly to clear questions. Agents who are not doctors or nurses ask medical questions …. Their process is really confusing. When asked about their process and policies … they are again evasive and don’t really answer … hard to know if it’s incompetence or fraudulent system. Their online system is not working … really time-consuming dealing with them… the 500 million that was given to them to manage veterans and public servants is going to waste…
I haven't been able to get a single claim approved or processed for normal and fully covered expenses. They aren't helpful on the phone. They blame the service provider or the client instead of accepting responsibility for their broken processing. And they don't provide an email address to work through troubleshooting issues. Only over the phone! Mon to Fri. If you can get through.
Stuck with them because of employer. The last 6 months have been awful.
Iт a week I will have three monthly claims (pre approved) overlap, so you know it’s bad and it’s been this way for a while now.
They have no interest in fixing it, no timelines for you, no information at all.
The staff are nice but they can’t help.
My employer has Canadalife as the insurance provider. I have consistently had poor experiences with them, not processing claims. Most recently, 3 months ago my hospital billed them for semi-private rooms. I called them several times, and they assured me it is processed and will be paid and reflected online in 2 days - but the claim is still pending. It looks like the customer service agents just try to pacify customers without providing truthful information.

What is the point of providing Canada Life with proof of injury (X-Ray Imagery, etc.) If they only care about the prescription (which I had - but didn't have Canada Lifes specific wording in it) from the doctor, etc. I went to an Orthopedic Office, I went to a Chiropractor Office (they stated that Canada Life doesn’t accept prescriptions from them) and showed them all the documentation for me to receive compensation for my Orthopedic Soles purchase, and they stated that there is absolutely no point in you completing a consultation and charging you for it when you have the documentation/proof right here stating that you have issues with your feet. They also stated that they would be repeating what has already been provided.
So, I called Canada Life while I was in the parking lot of the Orthopedic Office, and I relayed everything that I was told to by the Office. Once I relayed the information to Canada Life, I was informed by them that they never received my prescriptions and that I need to send it to them as soon as possible. Please note that I did send it to them 3 times by this point, and I am still not being compensated for my soles.
Canada Life provides you with a letter of what organizations you should go too to get your prescriptions, and once you consult with them, they still reject you.
