Only for its great cash back

I got my card blocked 3 times within a couple months for supposedly fraudulent transactions. Every time I had to call wait for the agent, answer all the security questions + transactions one by one for the last 7 days, then got transferred to the security centre and restart the process again security questions, transactions one by one for the last 7 days, then got my card unblocked. The best waiting time was 50 mins, the worst was over 2h 30 minutes and I was at the cashier of Costco. I did an official complaint at Costco customer service about Capital One the same day. I can tell you Costco cares. This problem seems to be resolved as I receive now an email asking if I recognize the possibly fraudulent transactions and I can respond by email without anything else to do. Like many other reviewers, I also got refused for a higher credit limit despite I always pay the whole amount of my statement account every month in time. I'm using this card primarily for daily expenses because of the great cashback also for the no annual fee. I have other credit cards with much higher limit as a back up.

ZERO STARS! TOTAL GARBAGE

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced, consistently. COSTCO NEEDS TO DROP THIS COMPANY or demand that they improve, for the benefit of their customers. Why this card so bad in my opinion: 1) Extremely long wait times to speak to a representative (45 mins+) 2) If you lose your card, it will take months to get a replacement. You will have to phone them multiple times (and wait on hold) to remind them that you still do not have your replacement card. Then it will be time for you to go on vacation and you still will not have your card. From the time you phone in to report it lost, they wait weeks before they even process and send the new card, and they use the slowest shipping possible. Another company has their replacement cards couriered overnight and in your hands the next day. 3) Their representatives are shady and lazy. They say they will pass you over to someone else or make sure another department calls you back within a certain time frame, but they lie. I've been told that I was being transferred to a priority direct queue since I already waited almost an hour to reach them, and all they did was transfer me to the MAIN LINE which had the exact same hour long wait time.

terrible customer service

Had never had such an awful experience with any credit card companies. Every time I wanted to speak with someone - my time on hold was close to an hour! They transferred me back and forth, I never experience that stupid amount of questions (my name, age, DOB, where did I lived 15 years ago, etc), then they were transferring me to another person with the same set of questions. Never had an answer to my question, they just refuse to provide me with the information after I've answered for 100 security questions. Going to close this card and would never have it again with this bank! It was convenient for our Costco shopping, but I'd rather buy in cash.

Worst customer service ever

Capital One Costco Mastercard constantly has a lot of mess up's such as scams on the card which you have to wait for 2.5 hours on the phone to cancel the charges that you didn't make. Next mess up is once you submit for a new card the provider made a mistake and your card doesn't come in. Once 7-10 business days go past and the card doesn't arrive, you have to wait for another 10 business days to get the card. Think very carefully if you really need to deal with Capital One.

Worst customer service

We called 5 or 6 times to activate our cards. Finally, my husband was able to set his up however mind still doesn't work. The steps were being told are what we're doing. For example, we keep being told we're entering the incorrect pin and we keep responding it declines before allowing a pin to be entered. The solution they offer isn't a solution as they do not listen to the issue. Also, they were not able to set up online account access and I was asked to go to a different location and computer as my account was locked out. We're cancelling simply because of horrible customer service.

Rip Off!

Unbelievable! A little short ($50) one month (May) by 2 days and the interest they charge they are still charging months later is nuts! (now July)? I consistently pay more than the balance every month as I have been using the card a lot so I pay more to lessen the amount next month - however, apparently this isn't enough for the greedy company who have now charged me 3 times the amount I was short several months ago - they just keep it going every month and I don't know why? The guy on the end of the phone kept saying something about several months ago and then every purchase is subject to the compounding - what I thought this was now illegal- wasn't there a case in court several years ago where credit card companies couldn't do this anymore?

Worst Card Experience Ever

I have had the worst credit card experience ever with this Company and would not recommend anyone to use it. They could not care less and have no idea what they are doing. One of the most embarrassing experiences of my life, the card was frozen over a $20. Payment 2 days late? Oodles of room on credit limit and past payment experience of often very large payments, never mind they did not send a statement for the past 3 months which they admit.

WORST CREDIT CARD EVER

I am not going to get into full details because there is not enough time in the day to express my horrible experience with this card so all I have to say is do NOT waste your time getting this card. My husband and I have had our fair share of credit cards and still do and never has one given us this much trouble. At least once per week, some issue arises where both our cards are declined, I waste 20 minutes being on hold to figure out what happened just for them to say "oh you had actually placed the lock on your credit yourself"! Next time it is something else, we have had the exact same address for 3-4 years ever since we got this card and yet I keep getting e-mails that say your address needs to be updated we cannot deliver your mail, so yet again I waste my time being placed on hold, going through all the security questions just for them to then ask me my address again (which has not changed) and they saying "now we need to send you a new card JUST in case". A month or two passes, the same thing happens again. These are just some of the issues, every time it is something new. Do NOT waste your time.

Is FINISHED WITH CAPITAL ONE MASTER CARD - After 10 months of requesting reimbursement of a $6,418.00 credit card charge for a trip that we could not take because the company had been found insolvent 7 months after the charge, and after more than 20 telephone calls to the representatives of this horrible company, I finally received a written decision ( possibly made late last September) saying that because my claim was made after a period of 120 days after the initial purchase, the company was not liable to reimburse me. SO if you are going to make a large purchase where you will not receive the merchandise or service until some future date beyond 120 days DO NOT use the Capital One Master Card because they will not support you if there is a problem with not receiving the merchandise or service. For 10 months I waited on "hold" for an average of 20 minutes for a busy attendant to answer my call and tell me I should have received compensation and they would get back to me ( which almost NEVER happened) - Again DO NOT USE CAPITAL ONE MASTER CARD if you expect any sort of decent customer service.

Safety measures

Regardless of PIN, photo and other crazy measures to log in it will be you who pays for fraud transaction. Oh yes! Before you pay that fraud, be ready to be a ping-pong ball between Capital One "safety department" agents.
