The $399 fly-anywhere international voucher has some fine print. I booked a Calgary-Paris return, and it was much much much more than $399. They add certain fuel fees that basically eliminate the benefits of the $399 voucher. A sucker punch. I will cancel this card before the renewal anniversary.

I have been waiting for 6 hours and 01 minute and I am still on hold. I called the fraud department for three amazon prime charges that aren't mine as I don't have amazon prime. However, they have to do an investigation as I, like most people, have an amazon account. My Amazon account isn't prime and not even linked with this credit card, but I was initially told to talk to Amazon... How can I talk to Amazon about an account I don't have any information about except that it is being charged to me? I've already spoken to two different departments and now am waiting to speak with a third department (security) to find out if they can reimburse the fraudulent activity and send me a new credit card before I live in Europe in two weeks.
Between my husband and I, this credit card costs $180 a year. We got it for the nice WestJet benefits like the companion voucher but they've basically made the voucher obsolete with it only being counted on the base fare. Half the flight cost taxes, which can't be paid for with the voucher or WestJet dollars. I'll be canceling this card when I get back from Europe!
This card has the worst customer service!
I had a fraudulent charge on my card for 128.00 and it’s been months and numerous phone calls have been made and it’s still not credited to my account. I sent them an email from the company that “supposedly” sold me the item and they stated it was not them and their name was used fraudulently. WestJet MC wanted me to file with the RCMP I did that and I emailed them a response from the RCMP. The charge still has not been removed from my card. It’s sooooooo frustrating dealing with them! I’ve charged thousands of dollars on this card and never filed a dispute so why am I getting hassled like this. I’ve had other cards and NEVER have I had to jump through so many hoops to get someone to actually hear me and represent my need. The free bags on a flight are definitely not worth the hassle of dealing with their customer service. I’m canceling this card.

If you decide to get this card make sure you read all the fine print. They do not actually fly to many locations outside Canada. So you will have to fly with another airline to get to the final destination. Meaning you cannot use your vouchers for many of the flights outside Canada. Free checked bags are only good when flying with them. So if you do book a flight without vouchers and have to fly with another company on your way back you will have to pay for your checked bags. So basically unless you know that they fly to your final destination this card is not actually worth what you pay.
Applying/receiving was easy.
Perks (WestJet) okay; a bit of a challenge to find available flights.
Customer service was awful. While individual people are nice if you ever get through they lie. I would repeatedly ask for confirmation if there were any other charges and they'd assure me there weren't but there always was.
There was also some glitch between my bank and this card and payments didn't connect. It's the only bill I've ever had trouble with; never did figure out the cause.
Net value was negative. Not worth the frustration and expense so I cancelled card.
