WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE

by ESTELA QUIJOTE on Apr 18, 2024
1 out of 5 stars

They do not call you back nor answer back emails. It takes them forever to pay the short term disability benefit, and their manager nor the person in charge of your account have the decency to call you back.
If I can give them a negative star, I will definitely give them negative 5 stars!!

Good luck you will need it

If they were robots my overall reveiw would be better, because their app is someway functional and it looks like when a claim is automated, it works fast. Thus, human approach does not exist! If any claim goes out from the app or it's something higher than 150$ or for payment of sick leave, they make your life HELL!!! More than three years I have been paying this company through my employer since I had no choice, and when it comes to collect our money - efficiency is their word, but for the contrary, delays are long and they indicate that everywhere. Good luck and patience if you have to deal with them!

My Uncle passed away and they arent doing anything

by Kasra Asari on Mar 11, 2024
1 out of 5 stars

My Uncle passed away a month ago, before he passed he gave me his SIN number and policy number and told me I am his beneficiary for his life insurance. I called them 5 times since 5 weeks ago and they keep delaying things, 1st time I called they told me I'd get the paper work within 7-10 business days after I made a death claim, I called again 10 business days later they said it takes time, called again a week later same thing. Finally called again 2 weeks ago and they said if I don't receive the paperwork by March 8th then to call again. I called again and now they say I am not listed as beneficiary and that they will send a message to his agent to call me back. This company is disgusting truly!

Did you know that if you are a 30-year old male, a term life insurance policy for 20 years with coverage of $200,000 will cost you around $19/month? Getting your term life insurance quote today will allow you to benefit from a great rate.

Le gouvernement fédéral devrait retirer le contrat à cette compagnie

by Marie-Claude Doucet on Feb 27, 2024

No respect for their customers

by Nicole Maharaj on Jan 12, 2024

Unfortunately for most, Canada Life insurance is chosen for them by their employer and so there is no leaving or options.
Their wait times on the phone and email are just ridiculous. Imagine having to set aside your day to wait for someone to connect you to someone else because they don't train their personnel. Sorry I only know this, so I have to transfer you. I have literally sat on the phone for 2 hours and then the line drops me because they don't think anyone is stupid enough to be here... oh wait that's me.
I absolutely hate them and their music because let's be honest if you're a customer you have listened to it for hours on end.

If you have a choice, go elsewhere. Go to an insurance company that actually appreciates your time and money.

Canada Life is a scam

by Canada Life is a scam on Jan 10, 2024

Absolute worst company. First, no phone number to call directly. Second, form upload has multiple portals without explicit direction as to which is for what. Third, the person who accepted my claim documents from one of the portals goes on a 3 week vacation. That person says they received my form and is processing it. I get an email confirmation from Canada Life confirming that my document was recieved. I think it was from the agent. Nope. That person gets back from vacation and says I am missing more information and forms. What!? Why didn't you or the process application list this? One of the forms was already part of my profile documents, but they don't care. Resubmit it. I do. Emails are received in multiple threads and each one is asking for more forms and information. Why? You don't need my spouse information as he is dead years ago. That's why is it listed as "widowed". What is wrong with you people? The phone cuts off and disconnects when I try to call direct. Two months goes by and I am still working on this. This is such a scam operation. Ponzi scheme? My work uses this sham of an operation and I wish I can opt out of their joke of services. Oh, and that time they changed their prescription policy without warning.

Run Like an Online Scam

by Peter on Dec 6, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

Am with the Fed Gov and switched over to Canada Life after years of great service for Med/Dental benefits. Everything worked perfectly.

The entire Canada Life website runs like a scam and it seems those who designed it are either utterly incompetent or the company is trying their hardest to put clients off and save money at their expense.

There were to be no impacts to my family's services but everyone has had to provide new info at the pharmacy and dentist. This after the pharmacy charged full pricing and told my spouse "you have no coverage". Then the scramble for the lousy paper copy of the ID card because they won't provide a real one due to "greening" initiatives.

Need help with anything? Feel like wasting 1/2 hour or longer on the phone? Good luck! Call one number and it tells you to call another after you've entered your group and individual plan numbers twice.

Tried to log in after previously receiving confirmation that my account is active and it wouldn't log us in saying "It's not you, It's us". Then locks your account for too many attempts and you have to call the help line. Once you get through and finish playing 20 questions with the agent...Ta Dah! an 8 to 10 day wait for someone to push a reset button.

Wouldn't voluntarily purchase any coverage from this company. Way to go CL. Not.

the worst insurance ever

by Don on Nov 25, 2023

Talking a very long time to get a claim, when there is a problem also takes a long time to support. The support is not 24 hours, no weekend and only support to the plan member (no family member) this even make the issue difficult to resolve. Also, the time zone is different making it even more difficult. If there was zero stars, I would give it zero stars.
The system is not consistent. This is the worst ever insurance system and support. Only cheap companies are using this cheap insurance.

Planning to get life insurance to protect your family, including children? Make sure that you get enough coverage. According to studies, it takes about $250,000 in total to raise a child to the age of 18 (and that doesn’t include any post-secondary education costs).

Useless customer service

by More like Canada death on Nov 9, 2023

Waited for 1 hour and 25 min and was connected to an idiot rep who couldn't provide any answer and she tried to connect me with another department and dropped the call.

They should change their name to Canada death, as I don't see how can it be any life in it

Peachy, just peachy.
