Le gouvernement fédéral devrait retirer le contrat à cette compagnie

by Marie-Claude Doucet on Feb 27, 2024
1 out of 5 stars

Denied my claims on my PERSONAL HEALTH PLAN, in which i have $500 to use “freely” for stuff that isn’t covered (which is literally everything, there is terrible coverage with this company).
Im now $500 in the hole from PHYSIOTHERAPY that was supposed to be covered!

Wow. Noooo customer service or even contact capacity

It has been one month and I can't get through, or talk to anyone or get my claims processed. They denied my claim saying it was before the date of insurance. I can't file a claim because they say I have to file with my secondary insurance first. I don't have a secondary insurance. Omg 😱

Did you know that one in three Canadians, on average, will be disabled for more than three months before they turn 65? Get a disability insurance quote today to make sure your income is secure, even when you are temporary disabled.

It's been a nightmare!

by MARIE GIRARD on Oct 19, 2023

I have been with Canada Life since July 1, 2023 and it's been a nightmare! Wait time to reach someone by phone is 2 to 3 hours every day and every months since we joined. After waiting 2-3 hours, answers, explanations and solutions are non-existent. Messages go unanswered, claims are denied with no explanation, Co-ordination of benefits just don't work. The on-line chat does not work.
It appears that the only departments that are working well there are their 'DENIAL' and Accounts Receivable depts.
This is really shameful.

Poor Customer Service, Unusuable Website

by Brandt Chu on Oct 17, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

It has been months since the Public Service Heath Plan was switched over to Canada Life. The website still does not work properly and their customer service representatives refuse to take any calls about improperly rejected drug benefit claims due to "higher call volumes". Canada Life is not doing anything for us for free: we pay every pay check for this service. This is absolutely pathetic.

Did you know that mortgage insurance is the same as life insurance but more expensive and offers less protection? By cancelling it and getting life insurance, you would typically save around 30%-40% for the same coverage.

Worst insurance company I've ever been with

by Amanda Kobetich on Sep 19, 2023

First its 2023, keep up with everyone else. The app is for dental which now a days no on needs, the health side doesn't have a app, so you need a computer to submit. Submitting you have to enter your info every SINGLE time, doesn't save.

Second, EVERYTHING comes back denied, After waiting a MONTH.

Third, call times are insane. You call right at 8:00 am and there's an hour wait. If you call after 10 am there's just no getting through, nor is there a time to wait they just hang up on you.

Customer service is terrible, rude and I'm assuming they have no staff.

YOU should just close. NOT a successful company at all. It's terrible how you even have customers.

Run as fast as you can.

I know all insurance companies are a pain, but this one is in a different league. YOU personally have to follow up with management about your cases multiple times, when they finally contact you, they deny your claim as soon as possible; if you need to claim any medical benefits, or drugs, ect, 90% of the time the website & phones are "down due to technical issues."

Good luck claiming anything or getting any coverage.

Lost everything because of these clowns

I was going through some health issues and my case manager Jamie was a nightmare to deal with. I went and got cleared by multiple doctors including their own and every one of them said I had to be off work for a bit. Jamie deliberately went against and fought the doctors and me every which way and on multiple occasions telling me my symptoms weren't as bad as she thinks they are and her opinion matters more than the doctors, she also tried to get me to quit my job a few times. I spent months accumulating debt with no payments coming in while stuck in limbo until the point I lost my home, almost lost my car, had to sell most of my possessions and had to move back to live with my parents. I paid into this company for almost 4 years and when it came time to use the money I put into this company they screwed me over. I will never in my life work for a company that uses these scammers as insurance. There was never any formal of resolution and they just kept sweeping my calls and complaints under the rug.

Planning to get life insurance to protect your family, including children? Make sure that you get enough coverage. According to studies, it takes about $250,000 in total to raise a child to the age of 18 (and that doesn’t include any post-secondary education costs).

Do not believe in Mental Healthy

by Christine on Oct 18, 2022

We recently switched our benefits from Greensheild to Canada Life. The plan was supposed to be the same as Greenshields. Over a month ago I submitted a claim for my session with my Psychotherapist. Someone I have developed a trusting relationship with over the past 4 months. My relationship with her is very important and the first Therapist I have connected with after trying 3 others. I cannot afford 100.00 dollar sessions a month on my own (blows my mind places believe $500.00 a year is enough).

I received a decline in coverage because she is a psychotherapist. Apparently, Canada Life only recognizes psychologists and social workers. I am absolutely mortified they have narrowed Mental Health down to only two types of practitioners. Psychotherapists are registered and extremely effective.

Canada Life does not believe in the importance of Mental Health if they are willing to only accept two types of practitioners. Fear not, they will cover it up by offering broad mental health articles that do not relate to you or your needs at all because according to them, everybody is the same.
