Never before have I dealt with such a horrible insurance company.
Claims always take 7+ weeks to process. Often denied until challenged then approved.
Copious hours spent on hold.
Useless and would never use if the employer didn't contract them.
I've never had such a bad experience with an insurance company before. The reason I'm with Canada Life is because of my company. Each claim has taken up to a month to process, with no exaggeration. I've submitted six claims total and every single one has taken one whole month to see my money get back into my account. Phone wait times are 30-40 minutes minimum. I've also had an experience with a customer service representative who yelled at me and gave me an attitude.
Good luck talking to a representative of Canada Life, called about 5 different days at various times and after 1-2+ hours I had to hang up, my cell phone battery would need recharging. I tried calling the federal ombudsman, but even they weren’t answering. Does anyone remember the days when a body either answered after a few rings or you got a busy signal? NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!
3.5 hours and then got a message "Technical Difficulties try back later"... On hold, second try 2.5 hours now.........
Crooks. Terrible/non-existent customer service, the only number listed to contact (no email) and you only get through two levels of call tree before it restricts/prevents you from going further or speaking with someone. This company finds any way to keep your moment that forces you to give up or contact media.

They have no accountability.
The phone app crashes every now and again and claims are never handled on time and rejected more than accepted.
This company is more like a scam than legit.
At least have customer support where a reasonable wait time is there.
My work just switched over to this insurer for some insane reason, and I am trying to get enrolled and registered, and not only was I on hold for two hours on the phone with them before being disconnected, I also went through ridiculous chat sessions with their "technical help". It appears they only have two agents to do the chat for the entire company -- Pratik and Nathalie. Pratik spent half an hour not answering my questions before disconnecting the chat on me, and now every time I happen to get Pratik on the chat, he automatically just disconnects the chat. He seems to be unable to answer basic questions about registration and enrollment when I did speak to him. Both of them just enter pre-written responses that do not answer any questions directly and it takes about an hour to get any basic answer to your question. I've enrolled with them but it seems that my plan isn't working at the pharmacy still, and there is no one to assist with this. Seems like that isn't the only problem I'm going to have with this company according to this horrid reviews.
Money was not transferred even it has been processed a month ago. Very difficult to reach. No answer or you have to wait 45 mins to 1 hour.
So even customers who are willing to wait for an hour to have a representative speak to them are not good enough. It is easier for Canada Life to just cut the line and get rid of the headache of another paying customer inquiring about their insurance.
Everything I have endured with this company has been horrible. I'm a customer with a group benefits plan with my employer, and I would never select this company or recommend them.
They only take phone calls, and no emails, their claims system is old and glitchy. Once you finally speak to someone after waiting up to 1+ hours, they are poorly trained. Processing time takes weeks, they lose your information. Find somewhere else!
