The worst Insurance Company

by Tonino Marchetta on Oct 23, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

Waited over an hour. Nobody ever responded.
I already miss my last Insurance provider. They said we will save money and already with my prescription drugs I am already paying more. What a scam.

The worst Insurance Company in Canada

by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin on Oct 23, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

This is what Canada Life does:

1. Takes several months to process your claims and always find the ways to reduce the compensation amount.
2. When you call them, even though they say the waiting time is from 50 to 60 minutes (!) they keep you on hold from 2 to 3 HOURS!
3. When you identify the issue, they tell you that they will escalate it and that an agent or a supervisor will call you within next 3 business days. However, NO ONE EVER CALLS YOU. And when you call them again and wait on hold for 3 hours just to find out that NOTHING has been escalated and NO ONE was supposed to call you.
4. They promise you that your claim will be finalized "by the end of the week". However, it takes MONTHS instead for the claims to be finalized.
5. In the rare times when they call you, they don't even bother leaving you a voice message or sending you an email, making you guess what was the reason for their call.

Poor Customer Service, Unusuable Website

by Brandt Chu on Oct 17, 2023
1 out of 5 stars

It has been months since the Public Service Heath Plan was switched over to Canada Life. The website still does not work properly and their customer service representatives refuse to take any calls about improperly rejected drug benefit claims due to "higher call volumes". Canada Life is not doing anything for us for free: we pay every pay check for this service. This is absolutely pathetic.

Did you know that one in three Canadians, on average, will be disabled for more than three months before they turn 65? Get a disability insurance quote today to make sure your income is secure, even when you are temporary disabled.

Impossible to reach

The wait time sometimes is more than an hour. the process of payments are long and they process the claims in different category and and they don' let you, so on the 2nd claim you have to go to same process of calling them.
They have broken links on the website which they don't even know. Very disappointed with this company

Run as fast as you can.

I know all insurance companies are a pain, but this one is in a different league. YOU personally have to follow up with management about your cases multiple times, when they finally contact you, they deny your claim as soon as possible; if you need to claim any medical benefits, or drugs, ect, 90% of the time the website & phones are "down due to technical issues."

Good luck claiming anything or getting any coverage.

Customer service PSHCP

by Public servant on Sep 15, 2023

Useless company. No way to contact them. They ignore e mails and hang up on calls. ALWAYS have higher than normal call volumes meaning long waits. Phone battery dies before wait time is up. Can not complain about customer service unless you talk to an agent. Cant talk to an agent because they have no customer service agents to talk to. Do not process claims in reasonable timeframe if at all. The most useless company on earth and I am being generous in my description of their service.

Planning to get life insurance to protect your family, including children? Make sure that you get enough coverage. According to studies, it takes about $250,000 in total to raise a child to the age of 18 (and that doesn’t include any post-secondary education costs).

Don't try to claim orthodics ever

Be careful when they say they will cover something. Because they won't. They will ask you for so much information without explanation of what they actually need to avoid paying for them. It's been 6 months. I've talked to 7 agents. They snail mail everything. Are disorganized with claims and emails. You can't talk to the person who is actually doing the claim and demanding information. Honestly no insurance is better then this company.

Lost everything because of these clowns

by Matt on Jun 30, 2023

I was going through some health issues and my case manager Jamie was a nightmare to deal with. I went and got cleared by multiple doctors including their own and every one of them said I had to be off work for a bit. Jamie deliberately went against and fought the doctors and me every which way and on multiple occasions telling me my symptoms weren't as bad as she thinks they are and her opinion matters more than the doctors, she also tried to get me to quit my job a few times. I spent months accumulating debt with no payments coming in while stuck in limbo until the point I lost my home, almost lost my car, had to sell most of my possessions and had to move back to live with my parents. I paid into this company for almost 4 years and when it came time to use the money I put into this company they screwed me over. I will never in my life work for a company that uses these scammers as insurance. There was never any formal of resolution and they just kept sweeping my calls and complaints under the rug.

Had a great experience

When my mother passed away from ALS, Canada Life was very easy to deal with and accommodating. They worked with my brother and me to get an advanced payment based on her diagnoses and the expected time left. She ended up passing away before we received advanced payment but Jeff was very easy to work with in getting us the full payment instead of the advanced payment when the time came.
