Diabetic patients are screwed

I have read nothing but poor reviews of Canada Life after they took over PSHCP. I have had nothing but amazing service. Any phone call has been handled quickly and efficiently. I attended an optometrist appointment yesterday and submitted my claim... honestly fearing how long it may take. WITHIN 24hrs, I had the claim processed and funds directly back into my account. Amazing service!
I had podiatrist surgery, by a podiatrist who has been practising for the last 30 years. Canada Life denied my claim saying he does not meet the qualifications. However, they covered my initial assessment. After calling several times and giving them the registration number they still denied it.
They say it's working but it doesn't. I've called in a couple of times just to ask what the status if only to be told to wait. Sometimes it takes forever to get to an agent which is understandable. But for me the main issue is, if the coordination of benefits works then I wouldn't need to call.
I was diagnosed with a cancer that came back. They cannot cure it but it can be treated. The form for pre authorization was sent 3 weeks ago both by the oncology department and Phizer. Both have confirmed that they have had only problems with this company. Today I paid 6200$ for my medication on my credit card. I can’t keep this up. I’m so discouraged.
I am a member of the public service. Worse experience ever with an insurance provider. After becoming administrators for the PSHCP they failed to prepare for the influx of claims. People sitting on thousands of dollars of unpaid claims with little to no chance of ever getting through to an agent. Claims are never updated, people have no idea what is going on. This company is a disaster to deal with. Do not recommend!
They do not answer what you are asking for, and different people answer with conflicting information and status of my claim. Takes over a month to get two answers that are conflicting and still no answer about my claim.
As previously stated by others, this company has absolutely no costumer service. Their automated service will constantly tell you all service representatives are busy and hang up on you. No one answers the online chat.
Their service standards say a claim should be processed within 2-14 days. I have 3 claims outstanding and almost a month old. All the proper documentation has been provided and received by Canada Life. Previous insurer had no issues with the same claims and paid out within a week.
Unless you are forced to be with this incompetent company… give your money to someone who will pick up a phone and want your business.
There appears to be many glitches in Canada Life. It is very hard to reach someone. There was problems processing my physical therapy sessions. I am presently 600 in the hole. I may have to discontinue physiotherapy because I cannot pay our of pocket. This is very discouraging.

Switching to Canada life I have to fill out all sorts of crap and jump through hoops galore in order to get approved.
Their staff make you look up DINS on their website (too lazy).
I have a feeling I’ll be disapproved for the new diabetes meds. Best of luck to everyone forced to deal with Canada Life.
