I've been waiting a month for action on a claim. I've tried the contact form... three times with no result. Nobody replies. The chat is not staffed. The automated telephone service disconnects. It is awful.
The PSHCP switch to Canada Life has been a nightmare. The customer service is lacking. I’ve wasted hours on hold being passed around and getting disconnected. The majority of the time you can’t even get through. They do not have an authorization form/process so that a spouse can ask questions or help manage the plan.
But for me the real problem is… that my 8 year old requires a lifesaving feeding tube and all feeding tubes and supplies that were previously covered under the plan are not an eligible expense now. They are playing with peoples lives.
I know we should be thankful because we get reimbursed for the expenses, but it is also frustrating how Canada Life processes the claims. When a doctor prescribes you something, it means you need it asap so you purchase it asap too. You have to be at your best so you function at your best at work. But most of the prescriptions you have to pay upfront and even visits to practitioners you have to pay upfront as well. I have made multiple claims and 2 months have passed Canada Life has not reimbursed yet. If they need additional information (aside from the documents already submitted) they could call the service provider or the prescribing doctor themselves to obtain that additional information. Probably the reason they tell you they need more info so they can delay the processing of your claim. 2-14 business days is not true. Just dont provide false information to people. You can put "2-14 business days or indefinite". Always remember that we are patients. We are already in need of medical attention/procedure/equipment so please spare us the frustration.
Don't even try to call there, no one will answer! Ever!
We were supposed to be inssured since Jully 1st, with the military. We are in September 17, and yet, I can't submit my claims. So I have a ton of claims pending...
Waiting 2 weeks to get a claim from the ortho processed.
Compliance is a mess.
They take forever to process a claim, I have to call them every time to find out the reason of the delay. Very poor customer service, when I call, they don't inform me why my claim is under review and why it is taking so long. One time I called 3 times with months in-between to find out that they mailed a letter to my employer looking for some information when everyone is working from home during the pandemic, why I was not told from the first call that they need information from my employer. Now I have a claim that has been sitting there for more than a week, only showing it is under review without giving any explanation. I will have to go through this again and call customer service and get no proper answer to my questions. I am not looking forward to having to call again, customer service does not contact me promptly to ask for any information they see missing or need clarification
Super slow. You might have to call customer service multiple times before your claim goes through. Small updates like a change of address and banking information take days to update. Inconsistency in the information that customer service reps are giving out.
Impossible to have claim completed! Worst waiting time! Can't believe we are dealing with that....
