very unprofessional customers service, the online claim department is just garbage, no manager, no one is in charge and they just pass wrong report, avoid this garbage insurance .
I wished there was negative rate to give them negative rate
I've been covered under different insurance plans such as Great West Life and Equitable in the past, and I have never in my life been given as much hassle as I have with Manulife. They won't allow me to submit claims online - I have to physically mail in my receipts - only to have them rejected for arbitrary reasons a few weeks later. The company I was with previously reimbursed me for the exact same service within a day or two of online submission.
I can't even log in to their site. After days of trying to just register and calling them multiple times being told to try different browsers. I'm on day 3 of just trying to submit my physio claim. Asked if I could do it over the phone. They gave me the wrong email address after she confirmed each letter I read back to her. The second guy told me a letter was wrong and then I got disconnected. The second email was also wrong. A third party told me the first email was right but I didn't put the needed code which was not given to me by the first 2 people. And the Web site still is not working. I'm wondering how these con artists are not in jail and I'm stuck paying 400 bucks a month for physio and I have no way of submitting my claim. Having to suffer with my illness is hard enough, now I need to worry about how I can pay for my mortgage this month. They should be ashamed of themselves.
My online account is often inaccessible.
Not all claims are accepted online and don't expect to see an error or alert message on the screen. Just a regular text saying that your claim was no submitted which is wery easy to skip and if you don't pay attention you may wait few weeks until you realize that something is wrong.
If client service call you back to follow up on your issues then you are a very lucky person.
They will play dumb: won't see some details in invoices and will ask you to call them back when you have additional: diagnosis/procedures names or codes/doctor graduation etc. You call and they will say that the information they requested cannot be accepted by phone and will ask you to send it by... Fax! (fax in 2017 ?!?!) After they make you a favor and agree to accept scanned documents by e-mail you better make sure the attached files are in pdf. Even the way you attach the files is important. Drag and drop in gmail didn't work for me, they couldn't see the attachment - use "Attach files" button. And don't be surprised if at the end they will tell you the service is not covered.
Manlike does not deliver on anything they promise. Most unethical fraudulent disgusting Company. No wonder they are constantcly settling lawsuits for millions of dollars rather than go to court because if they went to court they would be shutdown.
But this shiesty company makes sure their website is down every weekend so your claims cannot be easily updated.
At first, I thought it was a routine maintenance thing but after a month of the same, I've noticed a pattern.
What they are doing is shady, deceptive, and unethical. A watchdog needs to call them on this as it is screwing thousands of people who only have time to enter receipt information on weekends out of their claims.
A cumbersome glitchy site. More often it is down than working. Manulife promises quick payment of medical claims if you submit them online. However, their website is almost always broken. For a large insurance company like this, you would think they could spare a few bucks to get their website working well. It is a tool that their customers use and therefore directly affecting the clients experience. Zero points for service on this one. Calling in does not help either, they make you send in your claim via snail mail which takes even longer to get processed.
Manulife Financial Affinity Markets health claims division is a bunch of scam ripoff artists. I'm so tired of calling in and disputing their unsubstantiated claim denials its completely ridiculous. I'm curious to know how many claims they deny and how many of their customers don't call in, complain, forcing them to reassess and then your claim is approved. I suspect they have a completely fraudulent claims department trained and incentivized to deny deny deny saving Manulife thousands maybe millions in unpaid legitimate claims. I have a disease requiring me to submit claims constantly for the exact same drugs and supplies every week or two, and every month or two they deny for no reason. The disease can't be cured, the drugs/supplies don't change in type/quantity/frequency, nothing. This company, and the people working there, are all rip off artists. Their customer service department is also horrible, they belittle you like you are doing something wrong calling in to complain about their decision when requesting an explanation as to why it was denied. They don't offer a reason, they just say, okay, we will reassess and let you know. Which translates to, oh well, this customer caught us, we'll now buy ourselves more time, never give an explanation, and eventually pay it out unless we can delay for fraudulent reasons some more. This should be a class action lawsuit to bring down this terrible company and their unscrupulous behavior.
I'm writting to express my frustration about Manulife company.
I paid 500,00 Cad for this insurance and it didnt help me at all.
I have a panic attack and I went to the hospital, needes medical assistance, paid the Bill in the end , doctor prescribed me a medication. By the way, I feell pretty much better and I have been prescribed to be absent 1 month from my job. I have claimed the refund , because I paid 150,00cad to see the doctor, and they told me it's not covered by because of the companie's policy, the girll that talked to me was super kind , Everybody can has the same issue, I just wanna say you guys that be carefull!!! because the dont consider mental disorder as a disease, if you have any medical emergency in relation to something you feel. You will pay the Bill! At least I got my permanent residence I have not to pass through this anymore. It's a shame!!! Just to express my frustration about the company. Veyr bady experience I had.
They have given us back $435 out of almost $3000. They owe us they have avoided us but sure keep taking money off my husbands paychecks knowing they are denying us any claims we put in. We have tried to arrange a meetings and have waited for calls twice. These calls never come. It took me 4 years to figure out my husband did not have direct deposit and he was not getting any money back from my claims.. Not once did the company contact us to question why we're putting in claims and we never got anything via email or mail to let us know there was a problem. We have paid almost 10,000. For coverage we were never covered for.. No apologies no explaination. I'm so discussed with how we're are being treated they got our money they don't care about us...Poor customer service .
I asked how far back they could go they said 2 years gave us 6 months. The employee said as long as I'd submitted they had to pay... even after I run around getting duplicate receipts and they refused everything anyway....Not understanding or professional at all so if you want to give your money away I'm out 10,000. Go to Great West they were amazing before Husbands company wanted to save money by dropping dental and went to manulife for more money less coverage then they did not cover us anyway.... what a waste.... half a years wages gone...Sorry I'm very dissapointed and want others to not have to be treated like we have.
