proud by agent

I joined this company cause the insurance broker form Aaxel told me for my two vehicles insurance cost will be 445! But later it comes more than he said. I was with another insurance company, and it was just 20 dollars cheaper so I joined. But when the paperwork comes, it comes with almost 577 per month which is way high then I was paying. I called him he said he will adjust in a week time and if he doesn't adjust he will cancel the policy and there will be no charge. But now he is not responding well. I almost pay over 1700 for 2 months for home and my auto insurance. Once I could call they sent me a refund of 36 dollar cheque - after one week they send me another letter of the outstanding balance for 276 dollars. I didn't understand. If there is outstanding then why they send refund cheque of 36 dollars first. I have given the wrong information from the agent! I am so disappointed with this service I complained to the company but didn't hear from them.

Fraud and unprofessional

by Gsp on Sep 4, 2019
1 out of 5 stars

Beware fraud, unprofessional and untrustworthy. We sign up with Pembridge insurance in February and I was quoted $590 /monthly for home and auto and in April they started taking about $790 from my account. I contacted my broker manager at Stoneridge insurance at Mississauga and he promised me that he will talk to insurance and get it fixed. After so many calls he told me that Insurance declines my discounts because I didn’t agree to get a device on my car but I never received any emails or text from insurance. He gave me a contact of a manager at insurance (insurance never gave you any information and told me to speak with a broker). The manager said they weren’t given my information on time by the broker and broker said he did. By that time 3 more payments were taken out from my account. So, at last, I was promised to cancel my insurance without penalty. What that wasn’t end of it? I was slapped with threats of paying a cancellation or effecting my credit scores and insurance said to speak with my broker and broker was very rude and stopped taking my calls and stopped replying my emails. At last, after suffering for 4-5 months matter was resolved with the help of my legal advisor (but I still don’t trust them).

STAY AWAY!!!

by T on May 3, 2019

Stay away from this insurer! I'd give them zero stars if that was possible but unfortunately, 1 is the minimum. I can't believe how bad is their customer service after taking literally thousands of dollars of nothing. Been with them for over 2 years, never had a claim. I had to leave Canada and need insurance for 2 more weeks. They charged me for the whole month. And when I asked them for a no claim letter, they replied to me that there's 70$ outstanding premium which didn't inform me about before. After sending them 3 emails and getting the same responses explaining nothing, somebody finally told me that there was a hidden charge. And still, got my no claim letter.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

Premium raised after renewal

by pembridge-customer on Mar 8, 2019

We paid for the full-year premium to renew the Pembridge insurance. Our insurance renewed Feb 1st every year. We paid for the whole year. They told me they want us to pay an additional for this policy year in March after we paid in full and premium started. We also being "threatened" that if I am not paying the premium, it may have a risk of non-payment record which results in higher premium next year. Also, it may have a risk of cancellation of policy due to non-payment. The reason that the insurance company told us saying that they have a system error. The new bill being generated Feb 25th, 2019 and send to me. The renewal that I have paid is generated Jan 9th, 2019. The renewal date is Feb 1st, 2019. As a customer, we feel unfair and ripped off because after we paid in full with a contract, we are being "threatened" asking for more during the contract terms or else our policy will be cancelled and have a non-payment record.

Unprofessional to the Max

by Disappointed on Mar 4, 2019

As per the sounds of everyone else, I too was quoted a price that was not matched. The person my broker dealt with was unknowledgeable and assumed without asking for facts of prior insurance. I've been driving 42 years accident-free and they assumed I didn't have insurance while living in BC for 8 years and wanted to charge me the maximum for having the lapse in insurance... It was then proven to them that I did have insurance the whole time, it was just in BC and still, they've charged me more than the original quote.

Worst customer service ever!

Shortly after buying both home and auto policy with Pembridge through PC Insurance I received letters in the mail indicating that they did not receive my payment and I would have to pay the full policy up front as well as a $50 fee for both policies. I contacted PC financial to find out what happened as they had my direct banking info, they said I gave them the wrong information and it was my fault. I gave them the information again, and asked them to open an investigation, as I was sure I read the numbers on my cheque correctly. I received a voicemail a day or 2 later confirming that after they listened to the recording, they realized I did give them the correct banking info and it was their fault. They said they would wave the fee and they would just take the 2 missing payments. I should have checked my bank account because they did not take the payments. I got an email from PC about a month and a half later saying they just want to make sure I received the message from Pembridge that they didn't receive my payment. I called right away and asked what happened, as I was told the payment issue was resolved, they put me on hold while they called Pembridge, the representative then came back and said the policies were cancelled 2 weeks prior due to non-payment. I said that was crazy, why wasn't I contacted? She did not have an answer and said they could not reinstate my policies and there would be a 2-week waiting period for them to find me another insurer. On top of that, it's difficult to get insurance when your policy has been cancelled due to non-payment!!

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Lies from Pembridge

TRUE ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS rate went up 15.4% after a not at fault accident. Other car was issured by Allstate. Would not lell me why, but said was approved by FSCO. FSCO and others said they do not approve policy premiums of insurance companies.
Checked approved rating by FSCO for over all premium adjustment and my premium was a way out of line. Collision in 2016 was $198 then days later $179 then in less than a year in 2017 $403. Insurance bureau in an email stated my car collision rating had not changed from 2015 to 2017.
Called several times to the ombudsman and left a message no return call.
Was even asked to show my bank statement to show they took money from my bank and not my credit card. Left the company.

It's a scam to steal people's money. That's why they accept credit cards to get the payments out. Stay away from these guys.

AVOID PEMBRIDGE!

This company is a scam. They threat you to cancel your auto insurance if you don't pay the FULL AMOUNT of your insurance for the year! They give you ONE DAY notice for the payment.

Policy Cancellation

by Josh McCracken on Jun 13, 2017
2 out of 5 stars

They did not notify me of cancellation back in February. Now it's making renewal harder...

They also changed their policy so they don't accept monthly payments so now they want $2800 all up front to renew.

Done with this company.
