Most horrible insurance company ever!

I have been paying both my home and car insurance monthly for the past 5 years on time. On August of this year, I made my payment on the day it was due, and I got a confirmation email from them stating I have made the payment. A few weeks later, they email me about me not paying the month worth of insurance and wanting to charge me extra for not meeting the deadline. When I talked to an agent with my broker about the issue and how I did pay and have a confirmation email, they didn’t do anything to help. Honestly, I’m disappointed and will not be a client with this insurance company and would not recommend anyone to join this insurance company.
I was in a mental distress and deposited the money in a wrong account. Two months later, they cancel my policy. I could have paid all the premium in one go!
Very heartless for customers who are with this company for almost 10 years. Things happen, but the way they treated me was very bad. I don't recommend them to anyone. I never claimed anything, never missed a payment, but the way they acted, I will not be them for too long.
Bad Business ethics.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I regret to say that my experience with Pembridge Auto Insurance has been nothing short of a nightmare. From exorbitant pricing to abysmal customer service, this company has failed on multiple fronts.
Firstly, let's talk about their pricing model. When I initially signed up with Pembridge for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Zahara 4d, I was shocked to see the monthly premium set at a staggering $480. Their justification? The vehicle was over 6 years old. Fast forward to November 2023, when I upgraded to a brand new 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4d. One would expect the premium to decrease given the newer model, right? Wrong. Instead, it skyrocketed even higher, all because the car was new. How does that make any sense?
But wait, it gets worse. A payment issue turned into a complete nightmare. Due to a fraud alert on my credit card, my payment to Pembridge was affected for less than 24 hours. I wasn't even aware of this until I received a letter in the mail two weeks later, stating that I had lost my monthly payment option and was now required to pay the entire year's premium upfront, totaling around $5,000. Despite immediately reaching out to both Pembridge and my bank to resolve the issue, it quickly turned into a bureaucratic nightmare.
Pembridge demanded a letter from my bank explaining the situation, which took over four weeks to arrive. In the meantime, they not only canceled my policy but also left me uninsured for a month and a half, with a red flag on my record due to their incompetence. Despite my repeated attempts to rectify the situation and offer alternative payment methods, they remained obstinate, ultimately leaving me in the lurch.
In conclusion, Pembridge Auto Insurance has not only demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and flexibility in their pricing and payment policies but has also showcased abysmal customer service and bureaucratic inefficiency. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your insurance needs.
I’ve been with this company for a couple years and decided to switch to yearly payments instead of monthly. They terminated my policy and said they are unwilling to reinstate it. All I did was ask for a quote… I’ve been with this company for years and have been ticket and accident free. This was an error on their end and they were unwilling to help a loyal customer.
Continued to debit my account for premiums 11 months after they were notified by my broker that I had changed insurance. Now I’ve waited more than 14 business days for a refund check of nearly $4000 to be mailed out and nothing. Premiums were very reasonable in the first year but increased exponentially in the following years.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
In the winter of 2020, I was driving on highway 108 in New Brunswick Canada around 10 pm. Out of the blue, a deer bolted from the passenger side. We had no chance to avoid the accident so we struck the deer. We stopped and called the RCMP but since the deer was not on the road and none of us were injured, they did not come out. We were able to drive home. The next day we called Pembridge insurance. They treated us so poorly on the phone indicating we were at fault for the accident. When I arrived back home in Ontario there was a registered letter waiting for me. I opened it up and it was a cancellation for non-payment. How can I have a non-payment when they automatically withdraw payment monthly from my credit card.
I was told my credit card was expired. They never called me or write to me informing me. I phone my bank and the bank told me if they had tried to get the funds when they said they did there were no issues. To settle this they said I would need to pay a $50 fee. I told them I did nothing wrong and if they insist I pay this $50, I will go to another company. That's what I ended up doing. Now they have me on their file saying I was cancelled for non-payment. I will be taking them to small claims court if they do not resolve this to my satisfaction.
Bad customer service, now I just found out that I got charged twice for one premium.
I try to call to get an explanation. No person on the other end!
I got pulled over by an OPP officer, he said my insurance had been terminated for 2 months...This was the first time I heard about it. After being with pembridge for years, they really let me down. They said, I didn't pay my January bill, and something was wrong with my banking information. No phone call. No personal email from the broker who dealt with my policy. Apparently the company sent a letter - I definitely did not get a letter. After a $400 tow, I am now facing up to a $7k fine, doubled rate of insurance for 3 years, and possibly a suspension of my license. Thanks a lot pembridge!
Somebody put through an insurance claim for a hit and run on their vehicle in a parking lot and used dashcam footage showing my vehicle driving past as their evidence to claim my car struck there car. My car never did this at all. A claim was processed through their company with no supportive evidence that my car ever hit their car and no witnesses and even the photos taken by an estimator that were given to me showed what appeared to be old damage on a 2008 vehicle that was in fairly rough shape. My car had no marks on it and wouldn't even have had anything protruding on it that could have made the marks in this other car. The other person's company took this person's word who used my licence plate and filed against Pembridge who paid them out and turned around and penalized me for it to recover costs. This was a totally fraudulent claim and someone picked my licence plate to falsely accuse. Pembridge did no proper investigation and proceeded to pay it out and charge it against my insurance. This company said we tried to contact you several times and couldn't so we made a decision and too bad for you. That is how absolutely horrible this company is. Stay Away. Their cheap rates are not worth it.

If I could give this company a “no star” rating, I would. They screwed up in every department when I made a claim. Who was at fault (under investigation), lied to me on several occasions, tossed around from 6 different agents who did not know about my claims, forcing me to retell my situation over and over again and then never hearing from that agent again. After terminating my policy, they continued to take payments out, and charging me $50 fee for putting a block payment on my account. They still owe the therapeutic company for sessions. Very unprofessional and mismanaged company. If you want headaches, frustration and sleepless nights — choose this company.
