Service and claim settlement

Absolutely please refrain to do business with PEMBRIDGE INSURANCE. I have filled an auto claim for one month already. I have called many times in the last twenty days. Each time call goes to a third-party call center which could be in India or elsewhere. The call center just takes your messages but no reply and no action.
In between, I had a chance to speak to someone. They have a lack of knowledge and kind of rude behaviour. Their hours of operations are very limited. I maybe end up filing a lawsuit because my claim is still unresolved.

Scam Artists - Be Warned!

I called Pembridge after getting online quotes. The agent then gave me a quote that was double the online quote and that was double other quotes received online (I also verified the other online quotes with those companies and they held up). It was clear the agent had no clue what he was doing, failed to ask the relevant questions, and was only interested in seeing how much he could overcharge a customer.

I had no idea of all the other extremely negative reviews until checking after this experience. It is clear that anyone who is insured with Pembridge and had to contact them for anything has also had terrible experiences. Allstate, you are obviously aware of all the brutal online reviews in this as well as other forms - shame on you as well and congratulations on running your reputation in the ground as I would now never touch any product from you.

You need a negative 5-star rating for this company. Be warned and do yourself a favor and go with a reputable company.

Cancelled policy

I got pulled over by an OPP officer, he said my insurance had been terminated for 2 months...This was the first time I heard about it. After being with pembridge for years, they really let me down. They said, I didn't pay my January bill, and something was wrong with my banking information. No phone call. No personal email from the broker who dealt with my policy. Apparently the company sent a letter - I definitely did not get a letter. After a $400 tow, I am now facing up to a $7k fine, doubled rate of insurance for 3 years, and possibly a suspension of my license. Thanks a lot pembridge!

Disgusting experience

I had full coverage on my new car, it was our only car. When I got into an accident, they provided me with less than the market value for my car, the adjuster didn’t reconsider the value even with many attempts to have him reconsider, my car with only passengers side doors bent in was considered a total loss? The repair was going to cost them more than what my new car was worth. I called around other auto repair shops and they were willing to fix it for less than half the price of my car. Even with my limit of $1200 for a rental they tried to settle the claim in a week and asked me to return my rental. Upon my constant requests to extend our rental bc of the winter weather and no other car, the adjuster did not consider. In the end, I had to pay 2 days worth out of pocket. The adjuster would not reply to emails or pick up my calls and I needed a new car. I’m cancelling them as soon as possible. Now I’m left with paying the gap to my bank and out of a car. Insurance is a scam.

Ruined my Drivers Abstract.

This company filed me as a 100% at-fault accident where I was not at all at fault and I hadn't even put a claim in through them at the time. They gave me literally nothing, no insurance coverage, no help, nothing and yet they still felt that in an accident where I lost two of my children that they should report it as me at fault when the RCMP report and everything else says otherwise. This company is pathetic they don't do their due diligence they haven't ever called me or followed up to determine who was that fault and what happened within the accident. (Other driver swerved into my lane, not driving to conditions.) 10/10 Never use this company. Offered a reasonable rate at first, only to cost me thousands in the 7 years since I had used them, by placing an at-fault w fatalities on my shoulders. I literally tried everything at the moment to save lives... I hope this company goes under, I'm absolutely beyond living.

WORST EVER!

They are a complete rip-off - gave me a "good rate" for my first year - then got me to install a tracking device in my jeep for 6 months claiming it would save me SO MUCH $$… I did it - got my renewal & it almost doubled & they said this included my "discounts" - I found other insurance and they charged me $390 for 25 days of insurance... Keep in mind I am 40 years old with NO accidents or TICKETS what so ever... Don't recommend anyone to deal with them ever...

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Very unprofessional

I have a car and tenant insurance with Pembridge for more than one year. In the first year, they gave me a mobile application to monitor my driving behaviour. After the first year, the app gave me a 22% discount. I cancelled tenant insurance and wanted to stay with Pembridge for the car insurance as they promised to give me this discount. Instead of it, I got much higher. First-year I had total for car and tenant insurance CAD1660. Now I have CAD1897 only for the car. I stayed with them for one year as I did not have time to look for a new company and they put a cancellation penalty (CAD250). Definitely, I will change them to another company next year, or even faster. So, do not use Pembridge.

Fraudulent 3rd party claim

Somebody put through an insurance claim for a hit and run on their vehicle in a parking lot and used dashcam footage showing my vehicle driving past as their evidence to claim my car struck there car. My car never did this at all. A claim was processed through their company with no supportive evidence that my car ever hit their car and no witnesses and even the photos taken by an estimator that were given to me showed what appeared to be old damage on a 2008 vehicle that was in fairly rough shape. My car had no marks on it and wouldn't even have had anything protruding on it that could have made the marks in this other car. The other person's company took this person's word who used my licence plate and filed against Pembridge who paid them out and turned around and penalized me for it to recover costs. This was a totally fraudulent claim and someone picked my licence plate to falsely accuse. Pembridge did no proper investigation and proceeded to pay it out and charge it against my insurance. This company said we tried to contact you several times and couldn't so we made a decision and too bad for you. That is how absolutely horrible this company is. Stay Away. Their cheap rates are not worth it.

I joined this company cause the insurance broker form Aaxel told me for my two vehicles insurance cost will be 445! But later it comes more than he said. I was with another insurance company, and it was just 20 dollars cheaper so I joined. But when the paperwork comes, it comes with almost 577 per month which is way high then I was paying. I called him he said he will adjust in a week time and if he doesn't adjust he will cancel the policy and there will be no charge. But now he is not responding well. I almost pay over 1700 for 2 months for home and my auto insurance. Once I could call they sent me a refund of 36 dollar cheque - after one week they send me another letter of the outstanding balance for 276 dollars. I didn't understand. If there is outstanding then why they send refund cheque of 36 dollars first. I have given the wrong information from the agent! I am so disappointed with this service I complained to the company but didn't hear from them.

I had insurance with this outfit for nearly 1 year and never received a pink card (other than by email and only when I requested one), I never received a printed policy and when I called them I was always informed they were busy and the policy would be mailed shortly. I moved and informed them and they emailed a new pink card but still no paper pink card. I cancelled the policy and after two months got a phone call from a collection agency that informed me I owed $89.00. I had not received any communication from Pembridge regarding this but found that they were sending mail to the former address and not the new one. This, of course, shows up on my credit rating. Not a good experience, stay away from this company!
