Scammers

This is the worst insurance ever, they charged me a good price at 1st got me all happy, then all of a sudden I'm paying more than the quote! I asked for my money back but they said they won't be able to return the money without an investigation because they said I had to submit the driver abstract, that they had and I would have to pay them more because of that, now I'm paying on top of what I paid them in full, plus now they found a way that I pay every month on top of my full payment. Never going with them again, never will I refer anyone! How can we report them?? and sue them?

My experience

I personally recommend Johnson.
I got a Johnson quote through Servus credit union & my annual rate went down 45% (сompared to the previous insurer).
Also because I had Johnson insurance it gave me an entry into a $2500 fuel card which I won.
Thanks, Johnson👍

Worst customer care EVER !!!

I had a deer collide into my vehicle. I know it could’ve been fixed but they said it was a right off they settled it after a week at the worst lowest price possible. I felt pressured and bullied into excepting their offer. Then to make matters worse I have to wait four days for a check and they only gave me three days after the acceptance offer whether agreed or not to have a car rental. I am embarrassed for them

Worst Canadian Company!

by DW on Mar 30, 2021

I was forcibly robbed and assaulted by three masked men, however, they didn't see it fit to waive my deductible, my rental coverage expired before the repairs were completed (upon the police finding my car) and they left me without a rental for over a month. Upon receiving my car I was told that everything was fine, however, after picking up my car I was forced to drop it bring it back in for repairs and since then I've been without a car for an additional two weeks, and now they are debating if they should fix the outstanding issues. This company is heartless! And they do not believe in putting the customer first. I strongly suggest that if anyone is contemplating using Johnson insurance, that they run and run fast!

Worst insurance company ever!

I would never recommend this insurance company to anyone! When I tried to tell them about my claim and the accident I was in. They wouldn't take any of my information they basically told me that no this was going to end up my fault so that I would end up paying them more they didn't listen to anything that I said took no witnesses and yeah I have been paying ridiculous premiums for just driving ever since.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY!

by Alex P. on Mar 18, 2021

Was with Johnson Insurance for more than 10 years. We have a clean record, never had a claim or accident. Last year moved from the Lakeshore area (Etobicoke), paid $160 per month, to North York (Sheppard). Johnson increases premium only for moving to another area to $275 per month, "Because it's high-risk area". It's increased 72% up!!!
I called a few times and tried to explain, that we lost a job, because of COVID, and this increase we can not handle, economy is no good, but with no result...
Both of us mature, pre-retirement age drivers and we think "Johnson Unifund Insurance" treats us, their customers not fair... We decided to shop around and would try to find better, another insurance company.
Would not recommend to anybody "Johnson Unifund Insurance".

If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.

Over a 3-year period, I had 2 rock chips filled and one windshield replacement on my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have now been told they are cancelling my collision & comprehensive on my vehicle! Beware!!!! If you use your coverage you will be cancelled. We are moving ALL our policies.

I called to cancel my policies at the end of their term. I was surprised to get two bills in the mail afterward for a little more than $300. When I called to inquire, they said that because in my original call I said this and that instead of such and such the agent renewed my policies. When I dealt with the next agent, she charged me early cancellation fees. While trying to sort it out they put a collection agency on my case.
They have since agreed to waive the house penalty one but kept me on the hook for the car. Terribly dishonest and disingenuous people there. I regret having recommended Johnson to my friends and family and have since recommended that they not renew their policies with them.

They do not help when needed

My son has had two claims, while under Unifund/Johnson. Both claims he was NOT at fault. First, he was rear-ended, then, in the second accident, someone turned left into his lane running straight into him.

The first claim took almost two months to resolve. Interestingly, the garage had initially said the car was a write-off, but then after I pushed and pushed for a resolution, suddenly it could be repaired, 7 1/2 weeks later.

This time, his car was immediately written off, and that was it. We have had no luck getting anywhere with Unifund. I had one conversation with one person who, 7 weeks into the claim, said she'd take matters into her hands and personally ensure it was dealt with. That was nearly three weeks ago. Despite numerous calls, and a very detailed email to her, I have had no response.

DO NOT USE JOHNSON/UNIFUND.

Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.

I had 1 claim in 20 years - someone uses my vehicle and cause a small scratch and crack to fender on truck get mail saying cancelling collision cause of 2 claims in 4 years lol I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. There impossible to get ahold of and just runs you around had to call a supervisor which then gives you a number to call leave a message still no callback. It's a very poor company.
