So I have had the card for 9 months. Made the mistake of spending $20 on a lottery ticket which I didn't realize this is treated as a cash advance. Fully accept this was MY MISTAKE and I was charged $4 fee plus interest for a cash advance for that month. Okay, so I pay the full amount due each month (as billed on my statement). Three months later I am still paying interest for this cash advance??? Spoke to them (customer service) 3 times to get an explanation, they promised to call me back when I asked to speak to a supervisor - never phoned me. Last call I made lasted 40 minutes, transferred 3 times, very hard to understand what they are talking about. Never again - cut up card, got new Mastercard with another company
Horrible and the most unprofessional service ever. Please do not waste time on these bullies!

Phoned to tell them I accidentally cut up my new card instead of the old one, needed a new one and the customer service agent was terrible - she didn’t understand the problems and it took forever to make her understand. Hire people that can speak and understand English. Terrible terrible terrible...
I have the Walmart Mastercard for over 2 years, 2 months ago I received a duplicate charge on this card, and the vendor refunded after I paid my credit card bill in full, so I called Walmart customer support to request a refund for the credit balance. They told me I will receive the cheque in 30 business days...it's now 60 Days and I have received NOTHING. I called in several times to follow up and even asked to talk to the supervisor. The supervisor said they have passed the issue to their back office for investigation and will contact me when they have a "progress". And they cannot guarantee how soon I will hear from them. All the help you will get is to ask to you wait with NO explanation, NO apologies. And they refuse to provide me any tracking info for this cheque. BTW I had requested a refund cheque from AMEX last year and received the cheque in 3 weeks...Walmart is the only company that ask you to wait for 30 business days. I even purchased balance protection & additional product warranty insurance on the Walmart credit card. Now I see a big red flag here if something ever happens, I doubt they are capable to help the customer with the claims.
I had this card for about 1 and a half years and was loving the rewards that were adding up but it all started to fall apart after I overpaid my card (meant to put in 100$ instead I added an extra zero when I transferred the money to the account). I tried to call customer service as soon as it happened so they could cancel the payment but they told me they could not cancel it till it was in the account. Long story short I was going back and forth with them on the phone for almost a month until a manager finally got on the phone and told me to do a reverse transaction from my bank, so I did and got my money back 2 weeks later but because I had taken the money out, there was now a debt of 100ish dollars on my account which was now over the deadline, so they charged me interest. I paid back the full amount (including the interest) and told them that I wanted to cancel my account and so they did right away. A month later, which is today, I got a bill in the mail for my closed account for an amount owing of 19 cents... I CALLED AND ASKED THEM WHY I WAS GETTING INTEREST ON MY ACCOUNT THAT WAS CLOSED THAT HAD 0$ IN AND THE GUY TOLD ME THAT THEY CHARGED ME INTEREST ON THE 0$ BECAUSE OF A REOCCURRING INTEREST. The guy heard how angry I was at the whole thing and zeroed my account again for me. The people are fine and honestly try to help but the company is corrupt.

The customer service is atrocious, just atrocious. I dealt with a woman in accounts receivable, who refused to provide her manager's name when I asked for it. She does not believe that she should ever be subject to a complaint, so she just refuses to cooperate with people. The whole thing was regarding an interest charge of $1.15... Can you imagine that she treats people so poorly that they turn to the internet to warn people to stay clear away from Walmart and their Mastercard?
Apply somewhere else. First, they do not give time to explain properly how it works. Second, they put you in a collection right away even without not receiving your card statement yet. Third, their system does not coordinate. Kinda whacky system. You talk to one person, she is good, then try to another, she is very rude, only cares about how you are going to pay even if you did not receive the card statement that she is talking about. (Asking money in advance). There should be 26 days grace period, but for them, they are the boss and who cares. You are just a small person for them. I am not surprised why they have a poor rating reviews. Good for them!..
Had a Walmart Master Card for over 10 years. Always paid full bills on time. Decided to cancel card on Dec 6, 2018, due to poor payback return on card: 1% compared to other cards. They sent me a letter from their collection agency stating that my payments are overdue and my card has been locked, Dated |Dec 6, 2018. The amount owing of course on the letter is 0$. Very nasty letter, like thanks for doing business with us, sir!!! Called customer service to see what it's about, they just kept arguing that the letter was fine and that I owe 95.10$ due Jan 3, 2019. Yes, I have one last statement that is not overdue but no apologies about this harassing letter that has no grounds. NEVER WILL I DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN!

First I'll start with the positives about Walmart Rewards Mastercard. 1. High credit limit, so you assume it would be reliable for trips. 2. You can pay your credit card bill in store, I was told that it goes straight into your card and there is no 3-5 business day wait for it. 3. You can access all your transactions online with no need to use your phone to call them. 4. 24/7 hr access to their fraud department. Here are the negatives about having a Walmart Rewards Mastercard. 1. You're not allowed to see your pending transactions online. 2. If you call them inquiring about your pending transactions, they will have a hard time taking the time to tell you the transactions that are pending and they will interrupt you and cut you off and use the whole, "poor me, I gotta work!?" attitude, also they won't transfer you to someone that can actually help you. 3. You can't get a list of your transactions or pending transactions in a store. 4. If you put money on your card in store, it does not go in right away, it takes 3-5 business days. 5. If you call the fraud department on a Sunday night about a suspected fraud, they will tell you that they can't help you with that and to call back in the morning. The only other credit card I've had was from Capital One. 1. You can review your purchases, as they are being made online, or from their mobile app. 2. They have round the clock customer service. 3. If they suspect there is a fraud, they will contact you personally. 4. They are also a great start to building your credit.
Card perks are okay and I think come in useful, but don’t ever think you can get good service from anything that has the name Walmart associated with it. Service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced ever.
