Since April 2023, I have been calling as a new enrolment for the PSHCP, and what poor customer service. First I called to change my email address and was told to call back in May after being transferred to 3 different queues! Today I called on May 16, 2023, to be informed that nothing can be done over the phone and to expect a return call within 24 to 48 hours. Apparently, nobody there is competent enough to solve my issue right away resetting my password! What a waste of time and this is so frustrating. Hopefully, this will be resolved by July!

Time after time, year after year having to deal with this company for health insurance claims is absolutely terrible! Their agents you speak to are useless and their denial rates are atrocious. The money this company makes and they deny claims and change rules and makeup or don’t even read submissions properly. I often wonder who works here, as they “misread” claims all the time. I wish my company did not have Canada Life as Benefit. Spend hours trying to please them and endless amounts of paperwork. Denied orthotics all the time, even though send in all the pages of paperwork required, suddenly new rules and new paperwork needed. Have even been preapproved only to be denied when submitted for money. The knee brace was denied because the family doctor prescribed an ACL tear, but the orthopedic surgeon wrote on their forms surgery was done for ACL, so they deny the claim as the doctors don’t “match”??? Ridiculous & the most frustrating company EVER! I could go on & on with numerous examples. Don’t use this company if you don’t have to!!!
As a pensioner. Have to wait weeks for return cash. Draining for us and very little reward for dental. Always 0% coverage or very little 5K for dental UT 150 for me? Now I am sick. 3-hour wait on the phone? The government controls these people.
The representatives are not knowledgeable and you get a different answers from different people. Covered claims are frequently rejected and the logic used is mind-boggling. Know your plan in and out so you can challenge them. Once you appeal, understand you are in an arduous and timely process. And these are for covered costs. Logic took a vacation with their staff and the level of dissatisfaction from plan holders is across the board bad. They manually process claims and delays in payments are the norm. If you want unhappy employees then Canada Life is your provider
The worst among all the group Insurance our company ever had! Waiting time is crazy. The claim is under review for months!
They take forever to process anything, their website is horrible, and their customer service is non-existent. I have called twice in the last week and been on hold for over an hour each time and then they just tell you they can't solve your problem and they will escalate and someone will call you in 2 business days but they never do. I genuinely don't understand what the point of their customer service team is if they have to escalate everything.
Customer service people never picked up the phone even if I hold it for an hour. After an hour they hang up the phone. This happed to me 6 times.
Do not cover any drugs related to cancer. Denied my stress leave. I have to fight for any and all coverage. A letter for every medication to justify why or if there is another medication he could use. Seriously! Money for nothing. Avoid them at all costs.
This company is an absolute JOKE. I got switched to Canada Life as my benefits provider back in January as part of my company “merger” aka taking over from my previous one, right from the get-go I knew it was a worse plan than the one I had previously as all my coverages were 80-90% for dental and prescription as opposed to the 100% I had before, although my premiums stayed exactly the same… What really drove the nail in the coffin for me was having to submit a claim not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES to get them to pay it as their online submission forms obviously don’t work, I would submit it all and nothing would register in my queue, my 3rd attempt I actually had to call in and email one of their service agents directly with my forms and that meant being on hold 2 HOURS with these guys just to get through, I don’t have the time or the patience for this kind of garbage customer service. I pay a fair chunk of change for my benefits and these guys can’t even offer timely or satisfactory service for a claim or a dang phone call. 6 months in with Canada Life after having my previous benefits with another company for 9 years and It’s not even a competition of who offered the better service cause Canada Life is terrible.
They didn’t pay my claim for months. I had to keep calling and finally got a nice representative. He forwarded my claim details and they only paid a disrespectful amount. I’m 80% covered and they gave me 20%!
