I had both home and auto and upon filling after a huge hailstorm they cranked up premiums around 25% but failed to settle claims unless I renewed. Still have received nothing.
My car was stolen in the April, and yet they did not sort out my case. During these periods a lot of time I was tried to contact through call, voice messages, email but no one answers. This company has unprofessional behavior and is wasting time.
I have been paying both my home and car insurance monthly for the past 5 years on time. On August of this year, I made my payment on the day it was due, and I got a confirmation email from them stating I have made the payment. A few weeks later, they email me about me not paying the month worth of insurance and wanting to charge me extra for not meeting the deadline. When I talked to an agent with my broker about the issue and how I did pay and have a confirmation email, they didn’t do anything to help. Honestly, I’m disappointed and will not be a client with this insurance company and would not recommend anyone to join this insurance company.
I was involved in an auto accident when the other driver changed lanes into me while they had their wrong signal on and sideswiped my car. I reported my accident online and no one called me back. I had to call them several times over the next week before I could even get a hold of anyone.
When I finally did get a hold of them, all they did was ask what happened. I told them, and they said that it was an “at fault accident” and closed it without any further discussion. (5-min phone call)
I have pictures, witness statements, and it was even recorded via dash cam. All proving that the other person turned into me. They did not ask, want or accept any of the evidence. They are simply lazy and do not care who is actually at fault. They just want their money and do not want to actually do any work for it.
Terrible company that does not care about its clients.
Was involved in a hit and run. I submitted a claim, got a call - had to call much over 15 times over 3 weeks (once or twice a day) to finally get connected to someone: not even the person who had initially called me. Disappointed over all.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
There's are a reason Pembridge is cheap. You get what you pay for.
Pembridge penalized me for taking a cash payout instead of fixing my vehicle after submitting a claim where the other driver was at fault. My vehicle is older and it was mainly paint damage; not worth me fixing. Other insurers don't do this.
Another claim they tagged as 50/50 had a net payout of zero because no damage to my vehicle and the other party didn't complete their claim. I find out 3 years later that 50/50 means both parties at fault.
So I have an at fault claim that affects my rates when no money paid out.
Both incidents took way too long to resolve. Claims department is backed up and busy.
Avoid Pembridge at all costs.
Cheap at the start but will cost you in the end.
I was in a mental distress and deposited the money in a wrong account. Two months later, they cancel my policy. I could have paid all the premium in one go!
Very heartless for customers who are with this company for almost 10 years. Things happen, but the way they treated me was very bad. I don't recommend them to anyone. I never claimed anything, never missed a payment, but the way they acted, I will not be them for too long.
Bad Business ethics.
I regret to say that my experience with Pembridge Auto Insurance has been nothing short of a nightmare. From exorbitant pricing to abysmal customer service, this company has failed on multiple fronts.
Firstly, let's talk about their pricing model. When I initially signed up with Pembridge for my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Zahara 4d, I was shocked to see the monthly premium set at a staggering $480. Their justification? The vehicle was over 6 years old. Fast forward to November 2023, when I upgraded to a brand new 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4d. One would expect the premium to decrease given the newer model, right? Wrong. Instead, it skyrocketed even higher, all because the car was new. How does that make any sense?
But wait, it gets worse. A payment issue turned into a complete nightmare. Due to a fraud alert on my credit card, my payment to Pembridge was affected for less than 24 hours. I wasn't even aware of this until I received a letter in the mail two weeks later, stating that I had lost my monthly payment option and was now required to pay the entire year's premium upfront, totaling around $5,000. Despite immediately reaching out to both Pembridge and my bank to resolve the issue, it quickly turned into a bureaucratic nightmare.
Pembridge demanded a letter from my bank explaining the situation, which took over four weeks to arrive. In the meantime, they not only canceled my policy but also left me uninsured for a month and a half, with a red flag on my record due to their incompetence. Despite my repeated attempts to rectify the situation and offer alternative payment methods, they remained obstinate, ultimately leaving me in the lurch.
In conclusion, Pembridge Auto Insurance has not only demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and flexibility in their pricing and payment policies but has also showcased abysmal customer service and bureaucratic inefficiency. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your insurance needs.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I had very bad experience and don't fall in to traps of brokers to choose this company, I canceled my car insurance on 5 Oct, after 4 months they didn't reimburse my money which have been taken in summer for first and last deposit of renewal, however I didn't made contact for renewing for current year .

Seems like they only work Monday to Friday and to reach out to an agent you have to keep holding for at least 45 minutes. If you have to call or report a claim on weekends or public holidays, then good luck. You won't be able to know what you should do. Because agents don't know anything. Once you have a contact with your claim advisor, the process will be smooth, but I feel like it is not worth money because when you really need information on what to do, there is no one with the right information available to answer your questions. I would definitely go with different insurance in the future.
