Every time when I use it for online shopping by choosing this card being asked way too many questions to verify and still got blocked or failed for the purchase. After called finally have it done purchased 2 smartphones with all my expenses in the bill around 4000+ THE NIGHTMARE! After the first month starts they send my balance to the report card center before the due day of my bill and caused my credit score dropped 14 points!!! I will never use this card again! I also STAY AWAY WALMART STORE due to the self-checkout doesn't support pay pass or google pay in the year of 2020! I mean come on, Walmart!!!

STAY AWAY

I went for the scam to save $25 on my purchase worst mistake in a long long time. I had no intention of activating this card thought not a bad idea to have it in case I ever need it. I have over an 800 credit rating and currently have a Visa and Mastercard from other banks. I bought a bbq at Walmart and scammed into the $25 off on the purchase. As soon as I got the statement I mailed a cheque for the full amount. My phone started ringing 1888 numbers 4-5 times every day the people phoning me were from somewhere in the world but could not be understood so I started ignoring these calls thinking they just wanted me to activate the card. 2 days ago I received another statement saying I was in arrears and they started adding interest. I phoned their customer service line about taking 1 hour and explained all and they said they never received the cheque and they would be sending it to collections soon then he told me that they don't accept cheques on the invoice it says make your cheque payable to... I told him this and he said he had to transfer me to a higher level of customer service back on hold for 45 minutes the next person I could only describe as possibly a french east Indian who was impossible to understand. I gave up all together about 2.5 hours later. I phoned the Walmart store and talked to the manager she said this is all a common story I cancelled my cheque costing me $13 and with another $6 interest charge I have no choice but to go to the store and pay it to save my plus 800 credit rating. The cheque has not been cashed. For your own peace of mind STAY AWAY DO NOY BITE NOTHING BUT A HUGE SCAM shame on Walmart and shame on Mastercard I learned a valuable lesson STAY AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN! It would only let me give 1 star I would rate them at least a MINUS 10

Mastercard

ZERO OUT OF 5!!! This is the most terrible experience I've ever had with credit cards. I called their customer service number to close my Walmart Mastercard but someone convinced me not to close it instead avail of balance transfer promo which I can pay it for 6 months (installment/divided equally). I said ok I will get it to make an easy equal monthly installment payment for 6 months. They said they will send me cheques which I can fill up for 4,400. I did fill the cheques, deposit to our account then after clearing I fully paid one of my visa cards. When I received the 1st statement which includes this balance transfer thing, it says my outstanding balance is my recent expenses + total balance transfer that I borrowed. What did I divide the B transfer promo to 6 months and added my recent purchases and paid that? When I received the next statement they charged me a huge amount for both purchase interest & cash interest. I called them why and they said I did not fully pay all the balance in my account. They said including the balance transfer. OMG! I was advised to pay it for 6 equal monthly payment & now they charged me with purchase & cash interests which not supposed to be. I paid huge interest for this non-sense, not helpful company I can say greedy. Will close this card soon after I fully paid this company full of lies!!!

Mastercard Insurance fee

by Tugce on Sep 9, 2020

I got my Walmart Mastercard beginning of this year and the system was not proper to check transactions easily so I haven't seen that, I was paying insurance fee and something more that I didn't accept. I called Walmart they gave me a Canada Life insurance customer number. The woman that I talked about didn't even listen, she was so rude and didn't care anything I told. I don't who even hire that girl. She just talks robotically and insanely rude. Even I need any insurance I wouldn't get from them.

Worst credit card in market

by review on Aug 1, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

This is the worst reward card in the market due to the following reasons: 1. No option to pay the bill online. If you want to wait in the customer service queue to pay the bill, go for it. 2. Store associates can open the account in 1-2 minutes but cannot take a request to close the account. 3. The worst cashback reward as compare to other products in the market. 4. Stone aged website.

Reverse charges.

My account was charged $200 and $100 by two different gas stations on top of the gas-charged. Called to have matter disputed, they first told me merchant can do that, hold your money for clearance?!? Then suggested I call the gas place and dispute with them. Called again stating that credit card should do that for me ...they cannot do anything, oh call during business hours... But I am at work and the wait is in about 30 min or more. Fed up, will not use this card anymore.

Don't get this card...

by zfarsh on Jun 26, 2020

So I got this card I can save 15$, but wow, it's been a few months, and customer service is so difficult to deal with, that I simply must cancel my card. 1) You keep getting transferred a lot because the amount of tasks each person deals with is extremely limited. This would be okayish if one didn't have to repeat their name/phone number/full address/reason of transfer each and every time. This is not the case with other companies. 2) One can't make a complaint or feedback to their supervisor, they say everything is recorded, and that is all they do, but who is going to bother to listen to that? If they had written it instead, then there would be a person in charge of that which could check in much less time the written complaints and feedback. 3) You can't make a payment to them online before having received the card, only by check. They won't give you your card number, even though you passed all their identification question. They don't properly take your address, even though you have provided them with a photo ID with the unit number, and even called them once before to advise them.

Deceptive Customer Service

by Doug on May 26, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

I was approached in store regarding a Walmart Mastercard and was pressured, finally agreeing to apply. When confirming the card, the customer service rep pressured me to take the insurance plans, which I did not want but seem to have gotten anyway. Customer Service reps must be on commission. I have called on two occasions to cancel my card due to being misled on insurance coverage I did not want. March 27th I called Customer Service to cancel my account and was not satisfied with the rep's response so I spoke with a supervisor and was told to cut up my card as the account was now closed. I received notification that a new statement was ready, so my account was not closed. I called Customer service again on May 20th and explained the situation. I was told to transfer the issue to a supervisor and I would receive a call within two days. Another lie. I have not received a call. Terrible Customer Service.

Not less than a scam

Due to untrackable credit loss on my card, I called them for the information, but they were just beating around the bush. So I requested them to cancel the card. I paid all the balance right away I did not use it anymore. They updated another balance, I paid for it again. I did not use it anymore. After two months, when I log into an online account to check it because I do not trust them, and there: another balance again. I couldn't believe it! (My total loss: $1247.25, if they steal $1247.25 from each customer and if their consumer population is 10 million (10,000,000) in North America (Canada, USA, Mexico), Guess how much they have stolen every year.

Charge 130% and CS poor

by Susan on Apr 25, 2020
1 out of 5 stars

I always try to pay my card off as soon as possible, mostly before the due time. There is a time the due date is on the 23rd. I paid on 20th, I happen to have an automatic charge posted on the 19th but when I paid it did not appear. Then the next month I was charged an annual interest at 130% for this amount I happened to miss because it is visible after I have paid my balance. I then called customer service. The first time I was disconnected after 20 minutes waiting; the second time I was told the person cannot access my account thus he was transferring to me another person and got disconnected again. Now I am still on the call waiting...
