We are with TD Meloche Monnex for last 4 years. We never had a claim, never got a ticket, luckily never had an accident. We also had house insurance with them from last year. As per our last conversation our insurance rate suppose to decrease for this year. But We are surprised to see that out rate increase 10/mo for next one yr. When I called they dont have any logical explanation. Even the ladies on the phone are telling that this is the minimum amount and there are no logical explanation why its gone up. I called 3 times and every lady on the other end has no explanation other than repeating this is the minimum amount. This is how they are treating their loyal customer!!
The company uses low level adjusters who are based in Ontario. Their only interest seems to be closing files as quickly as possible rather than investigating cases. In my experience these adjusters have no interest in protecting you as a customer even though that's what you are paying for. Do you really want an accident in Alberta to be decided by an adjuster on the other side of the country? Stay away!
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
I canceled the insurance, I want to know how do they calculated the penalty fee, because they charge a lot, but she said this is internal, she can't tell me how they calculated. They trick customer.
I can't imagine a worst customer service in my life. Claiming there is just a disastress experience. The last claim I made, I decided to pay the repair of my car from my own pocket and not waiting for their lack of sympathy to the customers like me after at least fifteen years of regular fidelity. Stay away !!
We have had TC Meloche Monex for years. They have always been there to take care of what ever needs we have had in the past..and there has been some big ones. I have no ill will towards the agents that helped us in our time of need. However, we have issue with the flip side of the coin. The Billing Department and automatic withdrawals.
We got a registered letter in the mail out of the blue from TD demanding the balance of our insurance premium be paid within 2 weeks. Confused, I called them immediately. I was told that my premium had not been paid for the month and had returned NFS (non sufficient funds) *a side note..all of our banking, house, cars, insurance is through TD.* I went online to check my account to see where the discrepancy was. Apparently, I had the NFS and was completely unaware of it..you see..they usually take out the payment the same day as my house note ..and Home Owners insurance....but this time they did not...they waited past the weekend and Monday was a holiday a total of 5 day past the normal withdrawal day. My fault I should have looked..but I was comfortable with the fact they had taken all the payments out the same day all of the time. However, no worries...the day of the withdrawal attempt I had deposited over $500 into the account...that should have covered it ...the following day I deposited another $1200 into the account. So somewhere between the holiday and 24 hours after..I had deposited over $1700 into the account, but the withdrawal seemed to have missed all of this.
I told the customer service this and said that I had the deposit transaction number for that day and the following day. I asked them why the withdrawal had not come out on the day that it had always come out? They said it was a holiday. I then asked what day was the holiday? They said Easter Monday. I said, but you should have withdrew on the Thursday prior before Good Friday, along with the other withdrawals? No answer. I understand that it is my fault for assuming the bill had been paid and I bought a ton of groceries for a big dinner which caused the NFS..but I bought groceries under the assumption all of the payments had been made, and knowing I was going to deposit $1700 the next banking day. So I asked how did we get to the point where I must pay the entire premium or get terminated?....I was told I had an NFS a year ago! If I remember correctly that NFS was also under similar circumstances, where they attempted withdrawal three days before the normal date because of a long weekend. So because I have had two NFS in 14 years, I am being threatened with termination if I don't come up with nearly $700 of dollars in 2 weeks.
I intend to pay them the money they ask for as I feel that is money owed agreed upon because of the contractual agreement. I keep my word. But TD will realize that when I pay the premium, I owe them nothing for the remainder of the contract. I will terminate the contract at that point, along with my home owners insurance as well. I will then seek a new bank to take over my home and auto loans as well.
I realize that my investments within TD is minute in the scheme of things. However because of this policy they have coupled with their haphazard withdrawal procedures, it makes for a disaster waiting to happen...and they win every time. So I will be saying goodbye to TD because of this, and taking the interest they could have earned from our home, cars and loans far into the future with me. It is unfortunate, because I liked TD, but if they can't treat their long term clients with respect and understanding, then it's time to part ways.
We are with TD Meloche Monnex for last 8 years. We never had a claim, never got a ticket, luckily never had an accident. We also had house insurance with them from last year. I got G licence this year. As per our last conversation our insurance rate suppose to decrease for next year. But We are surprised to see that out rate increase 28/mo for next one yr. When I called they dont have any logical explanation. Even the guy on the phone are telling that there are no logical explanation why its gone up and he is sorry but he can not do anything about it. We have time to accept it or reject it after doing our own math.

Our daughter has had Meloche Monnex auto and car insurance for over 14 years. Last week her car was rear-ended by a snow removal dump truck and the car was totalled, according to the insurance adjuster. Luckily, she had minor injuries and whiplash, but was transported by ambulance to the hospital from the accident on the advice of the police. As she was not there when the car was removed and the police were finished, she was not able to get a copy of the police report at the time and must wait 10-14 days for it. Meloche will pay for a rental car only for 1 week, and that means she has no transportation. They expect her to drive ~40 miles to their office to pick up papers and the miniscule check they are providing for the loss of her car. They are paying only about 45% of the book value and have not provided any proof tat the damage is actually more extensive than the value of the car. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever heard of. Do not, under any circumstances, get a policy with this firm. I have made it my crusade to make sure everyone I know is aware of their treatment. Won't help our daughter with the expense of her new car, but maybe someone else. We never know just how good or bad our insurance providers are until we need to claim. This firm is really rock bottom on the list. keep away!
I just spent 25mins on the phone waiting for their client service to become available. And this was the second time with such long periods of wait.
son purchased insurance at an unbelievable rate and purchased a nice little car. He rolled a stop sign and td cancelled his insurance. At no time did they disclose that the insurance could be cancelled, now he's stuck with a huge car payment and insurance. Thanks td
Ive been a customer for 5 years, then i made a claim, and experienced their customer service. 0/5, and on top of it, they keep jerking me from department to department when i keep asling to file a complaint for bad customer service, for several specific agents, such that it is impossible to actually even file a complaint, never mind get good customer service in the first place. I am definitely not renewing with this company. There are many other options, thank goodness.
