The online quote may not be trusted because of a 'glitch' in the system. The quote may be generated assuming a customer qualifies for a multi-line discount even when it doesn't apply to her. 45 days guaranteed of the quote means nothing. So you may be in for a surprise when you are ready to purchase a policy, finding that the price is much higher than what was originally quoted. In my case, the call center agent could not explain the reason for the price discrepancy. When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she said matter of factly that she could not transfer my call. If you find yourself in the same situation, do not sign a contract out of time pressure or frustration. Shop around. There is a way to file a complaint and escalate the issue.
Like others, I have been on hold with TDMM for well over an hour listening to the same three-second loop of music. Their customer service in that department is lacking. Recently though, I have gotten to speak to someone with much shorter wait times. Currently dealing with an adjuster for a not-at-fault claim. She will not return my calls or respond to my emails (three voicemails and three emails requesting a call over the course of this claim, zero responses). Then, she had the audacity to send me an email with a form letter component saying they strive for "legendary customer service" and to let them know if I have any questions. I have questions, she just won't answer them.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
You can't get through to them to ask them any questions.
They leave you hanging and you can't get through to ask questions.
Good value for the money, but totally NOT accessible; especially when you need them.
They really need to fix their "Call Centre" CRM program!
That's their biggest downfall.
I had requested a callback. Got a call back 25 minutes later that said I was in the queue and number 1. I have been on the call for 56 minutes and waiting to talk to someone. Not sure how much longer I will have to wait.
After my car accident TD provided excellent customer service, I was very impressed. However, after my claim was closed and I learned I needed to replace the car seat in my car and that TD would pay for it, it was painful trying to get a hold of my representative. She would either not answer my emails or take forever to get back to me. Customers shouldn’t have to chase down their representatives and hound them for answers via email and/or phone. My experience started great and ended with disappointment. Still, haven’t received payment for the new car seat either!
Have been trying to reach them for 3 days, had to hang up every time due to over 40 minutes on hold. Now at 50 minutes on hold and I am going to have to hang up again. The only conversation now will be to cancel.
3rd time calling in this week. Gave up the last 2 times after waiting on hold for over 1.5 hours. Been a loyal customer for over 17 years and never had any issues with these guys. Seems very odd. I need to add a new car to my existing insurance policy. Pretty sure "Sorry officer, They won't Pick Up" won't get me a pass .. TD, assuming you're reading this; If you're going to make your customers wait that long, at least throw on some decent hold music...
So, when a company reports increased earnings and increased the profit of almost 10% for 2018 and can't even have enough people to answer the phone it makes me wonder what kind of service I'd get if I ever had to make a claim. When I consider the percentage of my take-home pay I have to give this company to insure my motorcycles, cars and house I feel robbed when I am put on hold for over 2 hours to simply add a car to my policy. Yes, call one today 1.5 hours then I had to move on to other things. My second attempt now and I am at 52 minutes. Their prices seem fair and the calls go well when you get them, but I have noticed hold times getting longer every time I call. As customers, we have a legal right to access insurance agents and the products we pay for. Look at the number of complaints about hold times, tell me how that isn't restricting our access! I will be calling around for comparable rates with better service.
Wow, over 2hrs wait call time! I am not exaggerating! Come on TD, show a little love to your customers - who just keep paying monthly without issue, but when we need to change something - no service!
As I write this I’ve been on hold for 68 minutes.
No excuse for this. People are not driving or buying cars.
Did they lay off people? Disgusting.
