I called yesterday evening and the recording said there wasn't enough time before closing to handle my request. I called back this morning right at 8:00 and am still on hold. I called the insurance number but was transferred to banking and then back to insurance. Terrible service. One of the hold recordings encourages you to make a service request by email and at the end, the chipper smarmy voice says "save time!". Does not make me feel like a valued customer at all, makes me feel like they think it's funny.
Promised a call back which never came. RBC Ins was 1000% better before its acquisition by Aviva. Will change my insurance rather than deal with 4+ hours-long wait time.
I called at 8 am this morning right when their hours open and was told approximately a 7-11 minute wait time. I have been on hold for almost 11 hours now! This is unbelievable customer service. All I want to do is change ONE THING in my policy. All I want to do is pick up my new vehicle and I ended up having to leave my current vehicle at my dealership so now I am carless all because I need ONE PIECE OF PAPER from this insurance company that I was told had been faxed to my dealership but WAS NOT. I am very upset and appalled by this poor customer service. 11 HOURS???? Like really? I know there is a staff shortage everywhere but 11 hours on hold?? That is just absurd. I could work an entire 8-hour shift before getting ahold of this insurance company. Ridiculous! BTW I am still on hold :)
Trying to amend the auto policy, been waiting since 9:00 am for a return call it's now 4:21 pm with no callback! Terrible customer service
I have been trying to reach RBC insurance for a simple policy change for an ENTIRE week. Been on hold for HOURS every day. Sometimes their automated system would say that the wait is close to 6 HOURS! That is beyond my imagination. I am not going to make the change anymore. I AM CALLING TO CANCEL! IF I can even get to speak to someone!
Also, at renewal, they increased my premium for no reason. The phone agents are mostly Indians who have no clue what they're doing and it's hard to understand what they're saying.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
The agent was thorough and courteous. The hold time: 2 hours 54 minutes. The recording said, “wait time is 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes”. There is no option to have them call you back. I have called at 8:30am, 10:30am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Each time the wait time is more than 1 hour. It had been “more than 3 hours” in the past. This is just to purchase insurance. I can’t imagine the wait time if I had to make a claim.
The wait times have been inexcusably long for more than 16 months. I expected more from RBC but it seems they’ve sold out to some insurance racket, sadly.
We just purchased a second vehicle, and called in to add it to the existing policy. 2 hours and 15 minutes in total! Unbelievable!
Based on this fact I will never ever use Aviva again. Now I worry about how long it will take if I ever need to make a claim. Originally it was RBC insurance, which had great customer service and agents were knowledgeable and efficient. Never ever again... Will be looking elsewhere when the policy is up for renewal.
Been with them for three years. Tried to call to modify my coverage to lower my rates but had to wait over 2 hours. Tried calling many times each time waiting more than an hour before getting cut off. Never reached an agent even though I tried for over a week. Ended up going somewhere else instead and got a much lower rate! RBC is a waste of time and overpriced.
I have made 3 attempts to speak to someone about removing a car from my policy. No surprise they don't offer this as a self-serve feature. Waited upwards of 1.5 hours and the last time I waited for 2 hours and was promptly cut off by an automated voice message. Shopping for a new insurance provider
I called the service number on the policy document received with a billing question about my car insurance policy. Was on hold for over an hour. The line connected and I got the message about the call being recorded then was placed back on hold. 5 minutes later someone picked up and told me I had reached the wrong department. She placed me back in the cue. 10 minutes later someone new picked up and told me again I was sent to the wrong department and he instructed me on how to call in the right way which I had already done. Put back in the cue only to go through the whole connecting set of questions and then was hung up on. Called back and now I’m told will be a 3.5 to 5-hour wait. It’s ridiculous.
