Waiting on the phone for 3 and a 1/2 hours and they hang up on me

My car was hit by another car and I submitted a claim. Nobody contacted me for 2 weeks and after that, they just told me to pay upfront at body shop and they will reimburse me the money and now it's been one month nobody sends me my money back or contacted me. Very bad service. I am changing my insurance company after my contract will finish with them.
I cracked my windshield on my car.... happens to people all the time. They must have transferred me to 6 different people, being on hold for a total of 2 hours. Finally, when I spoke to someone, they told me they would handle it, I sent photos of the crack, quote I received etc. He said it would be done by Friday when my windshield replacement appointment was. Tried to reach him all week no response. Had to speak to someone else, and they told me my claim wasn't even open. He hadn't even started!!!! They told me to cancel my windshield replacement until they were done...I said no. It is dangerous and I need it replaced immediately. They never helped me out, wasted my time, and in the end, SPEEDY GLASS billed them and had it figured out in maybe 10 minutes. Not to mention, RBC told me I had a 300$ deductible but speedy glass found out i have a 0$ deductible. I ended up not having to pay a thing. Unbelievable. Will definitely be switching providers, horrible service and incompetent staff.
Did you know that on average Ontario drivers with good driving records pay $1,805/year in auto insurance? Is your insurance rate higher? Get a free car insurance quote and start saving today.
Please just don't DO NOT choose RBC insurance for your car! They're just keep telling me your application is under review and we will call you back! And it's been one month that I've been waiting and nobody called me! The dealership just cancelled the contract because I couldn't pick p the car after one month! And I lost the great deal that I had on that car! Only because of this damn, useless Insurance company.
Complete joke of an experience trying to get auto coverage!
Already had tenants insurance with RBC, put all info in online, called and made to give all information a second time, then emailed a non-fillable form (fillable version available from a government site, but they did not mention this) to put all information in again, and told that it would take 20 days. Pathetic, switching insurance providers tomorrow.
I was told that a first-time auto insurance application takes between 2-4 weeks which is ridiculous in a competitive market like auto insurance. Even if you have had other home insurance policies with RBC for the last 10-15 years it does not matter. I checked in after 2 weeks to see if there were any updates and I was told that it could take 20 business days - which is a month since I applied. I was hoping to stay with one company for all my insurance policies but after such a bad experience I am looking to transfer all of my policies over to another insurer who can give you the insurance within a couple of hours. It is really unfortunate that my experience with RBC insurance is making me question other accounts I have with RBC for other services.
If you have a good driving record in AB, you should pay around $110/month (women - $105/month and men - $113/month). Do you overpay? Get an Alberta car insurance quote to start saving.
I've had my home and auto insurance with them claims-free for over 5 years. Spent 2.5 hours on the phone, trying to add my daughter as an occasional driver. Until recently, she had her own car, own insurance but it was written off in an accident, another driver documented as 100% at fault. Just over a year ago, my daughter was in an at-fault accident as a G2 driver. Hit a guy who ran a red light through an intersection while she was making a right turn.
I expected an increase in premium adding her as an occasional driver but RBC refused to add her to my policy, said either we sign an exclusion agreement document or they'll cancel my policy. Her father had no issues adding her as an occasional driver to his policy with his insurer with only a $43 /month premium increase.
Guess who's going to be shopping for a new home and auto insurance?
I’ve been trying to get insurance with RBC for 2 months now and all they do is waste your time. I’ve had to send in applications 3 times now and they keep coming back saying I have to wait another almost 4 weeks just for them to review it. And a few of them who I’ve spoken to are very rude and just say they cannot help me. I am very frustrated with them and have got absolutely nowhere with them.
First off I will say I have been through the wringer with this company! Everything from my policy getting cancelled because of an accident I wasn't even a driver or involved in that had happened 6 most prior for one and then 2 years later having a full-scale highway accident involving a death where I was found at 0% fault. Long story short for my claim involving the other driver who was at 100% fault and died on the scene they handed me over to their partner company to handle my coverages. This was a 3-month battle which ended with me hiring a private appraiser along with him finding a fraudulent appraisal made by this partner company and RBC Aviva backing it up but once the proof surfaced I ended up over $10k added to my claim which I would have never got if I didn't fight for it! Stay away and use a broker! I used a broker and they undercut RBC by $500/year on my auto and $1400 on my home.
I have spoken to 3 different employees within one day and all of them had different information. All of them demanded my confidential information and yet when it came down to it, after wasting hours of my day, suddenly they decide that they require even more information from me off the phone which was not disclosed originally within the first two calls. The final call was one of the most aggressive, rude & disrespectful representatives I've ever spoken to who was very hostile and made claims yet when I doubled checked her statements on authorized websites, they were all inaccurate. Do not trust RBC insurance agents. They collect a lot of personal information but they don't disclose honest, consistent & verifiable information to the customer or potential clients.

What the hell! I know it is limited customer service during the holidays but this is seriously feeding up. I was on hold for 3 and 1/2 hours and you hung up on me. I still need to make changes and now it won't even give the option for you to call back. You can't do anything online! You have no chat that is a help! You are so antiquated with your technology, at least have more service people working! I will be changing as soon as my policy is up for renewal.
