Poor Service and Web Portal

by Daniel Wong on Mar 16, 2021
1.5 out of 5 stars

Sun Life is very archaic. Being in the 22nd century where internet access is very basic and common, Sun Life can not provide the simplest customer information on their web portal. No life insurance policy access, no current cash surrender value of life insurance. Once you buy their product, don't expect any post-product service. You would think Sun Life is a large enough company to provide such post-purchase information and service. Beware and look elsewhere to compare.

Awful website

Their website and the sign-in process are a disaster. Call someone to get vague instructions and have some long-drawn-out process just to set up an account to check if something is covered or not.
It's 2022 figure it out!!!

Circus of a provider

by Fitzpatrick on Aug 5, 2021
1.5 out of 5 stars

Had low expectations for this company and was still let down. Customer service is a joke and refuses to resolve even basic issues without consistent complaints. Mobile and web platforms also repeatedly don't function as intended, making constant calls the only way to get anything done with them.

Planning to get life insurance to protect your family, including children? Make sure that you get enough coverage. According to studies, it takes about $250,000 in total to raise a child to the age of 18 (and that doesn’t include any post-secondary education costs).

Terrrible

So you pay for the insurance but every time you go to the dentist or eye clinic, you do not show up on the website as active. So you call Sunlife they say they fix the problem, then go back to the clinic and still not active. This has been happening for a year. What a scam!!!

If it were possible to give negative stars I'd do -10.

Dropped calls, dropped chat, and costumer service reps that are completely useless.

Save yourself the time of calling / chatting with them and just punch yourself in the head. The result will be the same, you'll end up frustrated and with a headache, but with the punching option you'll have a couple extra hours to do something you enjoy.
